I knew of a couple of places out of state, but you had to travel to them, plus they made you jump through hoops before they'd schedule an appointment! I was close to buying a plane ticket when my union called referring me to this facility. They said it was done remotely. I was skeptical but what did I have to lose? From the moment I called Meals & Tolar, they took care of everything. I think I paid $75 for them to organize my records for me rather than do it myself. It was worth every penny. Other than that, I never paid a dime. They sent me to a local physical therapist for the actual exam, and then I had a phone interview with Dr. Brien James. He couldn't have been nicer! At the end he told me he would submit the report to DOL, but warned me that it could take up to six moths to get my SA depending on whether it's accepted, denied or they want more info. I was shocked when in less than a month there was a mystery deposit in my account. I went on the ECOMP website and saw that my claim was accepted and that was my first payment, which would continue for the next two and a half years. The amount far exceeded what I was expecting! So if you're looking for an impairment rating, I'd highly recommend Meals & Tolar! You won't regret it!
