We got quoted over $2,800 for a water heater or $2,600 if we got the service plan. It seemed high so I called the other company that I have also relied on for appliance and hvac. They were $1,749.51 (including tank, supplies, permit, labor, disposal and tax). I called the technician back from Sedgwick because I wanted to give them first crack at a price match (I frankly would have gone up to $2,000 to match because I like to give the business to good technicians who come right out and are so professional and good). He checked with the company and the company was unwilling to change. So, I went with the other company. For an about $1,000 savings I had to. I like Sedgwick and have had good luck with them in the past (as well as today with the technician - he was fantastic), but with this experience I would ALWAYS get quotes if considering them now.

About a week later when the furnace still wasn't running they installed a part that was not needed and did nothing to fix it. We were told at the time that they would reimburse us for the nearly $500 charge. Then earlier this year in May when the temps hit the 80s and 90s we discovered that when they installed the furnace the neglected to reinstall the air conditioner so they finally reinstalled it on May 16. It was 63 degrees by then. And they still haven't reimbursed us for the needless work and trip charge in December. When I texted the salesperson about it on May 29, 2025 his response was that I should be nice and have more patience. It has been 5 1/2 months and I am being impatient. I wonder if they let their customers get away with treating them this way?

When I reached out, they scheduled a service call combined with final inspection. The tech was great, made necessary adjustments to the coolant and fan. Equally important- he took the time to go through the features of the thermostat that I didn't understand before. Between the adjustments and new knowledge, I was cool and comfortable in no time. The tech was great at explaining how the system works, and even said we could call him directly with subsequent questions. I would absolutely recommend Standard.

He asked about any cold or hot spots, took a bunch of measurements, and did some calculations. We talked about our options, and he answered all of our questions thoroughly. They offered many financing options to choose from. When we agreed on an install date, Ben showed up in the morning. He explained what he was going to do per quote & got to work. He installed walking mats to protect the carpet & put in a long day. He started with the demo. We both remarked how quiet he was & we were both able to work upstairs. They pulled permits & had a separate gas guy and a couple of electricians to assist. When it was completed, they showed us what was done & how it operates. We ended up with 25 months same as cash financing & an extra year on the factory 10 yr. warranty for a total of 11 years! They left us with 3 extra filters too. The weren't the cheapest quote but we wanted someone who would be around in the future that we could count on if problems arose. I will highly recommend them to anyone that needs work.
