    Finco Chimney - All the soot coming out during a chimney cleaning!

    He was hired to clean/inspect chimney, clean dryer vent, replace and paint firebox panels, replace…read morelog lighter, and connect it to the gas valve. I called multiple fireplace, chimney, and plumbing companies in this process. For one, most of them took forever to reply (as in weeks). Several wanted to charge me $250-$300 just to come by and look at the problem and give their opinion. Finco responded in a timely manner and gave me a fair, reasonable price to do the work. Instead of regular panels, Shane made sure I had extra-thick ones and the proper (safe) paint. He did a beautiful job here. When connecting the log lighter to the gas valve, he encountered problems and none that he created. He could tell the gas valve wasn't sitting securely because the gas valve knob was turning when it shouldn't have been. I thought that was very astute. Trying to connect the log lighter to the gas valve was impossible from the outside going in. I just had new FP tile put in, and to remove the firebox was going to be very expensive because the tile was grouted to it, thus requiring tile rework. Shane assured me that he could get to the gas valve by going through a closet behind the FP. And this is how he solved the problem. Turns out that the gas valve threads were stripped, it was not supported properly, and it wasn't even connected properly. He replaced the gas valve and properly connected it. He also found drywall resting up against the firebox, which is very dangerous. He moved it. This all required just a small cut-out (~7" x 7"), which he nicely repaired thereafter. All material was quality. All work was quality. I never thought Shane was trying to feed me a line or wring me dry for money. He was always polite, never made excuses, and cleaned up nicely after his work. Honestly, I feel blessed to have found Finco. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

    Here is my Google review to which a response was provided:…read more I called to ask for assistance identifying the manufacturer of my electric fireplace insert and was told this company didn't offer technical support for anything they didn't install. I replied, "I'm not looking for technical support; just some assistance with a search." As requested by the lady (??), I provided the model# and was put on hold. Another lady (??) came back on the line and began berating me and told me I was being rude to the other lady (??). Neither of them were helpful in any way; they, obviously, couldn't be bothered to help anyone who wasn't an existing customer. The response from the "President" is fraught with LIES!! I didn't say they 'should' be able to help me, I said I thought with them being in the industry they would have better resources to provide assistance. When the "President" got on the phone I told her I had already given the Model # to the other person. That is when SHE told me I had been rude to the first person and told me she thought it best I go find my answers somewhere else. Luckily I was able to find a much NICER reception to the same query at Fireplace Place!! They took less than 30 minutes to get me the information I needed. They got a 5-STAR review for GOOD customer service even though I'm not a customer of their's......EITHER!! ***************************************************************** The "PRESIDENT'S" VERY inaccurate response to my GOOGLE post: I'm sorry that you contacted us for assistance with a fireplace that you purchased elsewhere and we were unable to take care of you in the manner in which you saw fit. You called in and reached our office assistant. You asked if we could look up a brand of a fireplace that you owned. Our office assistant asked if it was something you purchased from Fireside Concepts so we could look up your account and locate the model and manufacturer of the unit. You advised her that you did not purchase it from us and stated that we should (NOT WHAT I SAID) be able to help you because we are a fireplace company. She stated that we don't typically provide any (TECHNICAL) support for fireplaces we didn't install. We do this for several reasons, including liability and the fact that we are a for profit company. She said she'd see what she could find out and transferred the call to me (the President). I answered the line and asked what I could do to help you. After three (I was only asked ONCE and told them I had already given the model# to the other person) attempts to get your model number to assist, I felt it best to end the call. At every turn you did not want to provide me with the information to help you but instead, you wanted to tell me about how you felt we were not taking care of you. Every request (ONLY ONE REQUEST WAS MADE) was met with a disgruntled comment (LIE, LIE, LIE) and wasn't productive. I stated that it was best that you look elsewhere for the information and hung up the phone.
