This is my second time staying here and I can't rave enough about their outstanding service. The room is immaculate and the location is 10/10. Literally minutes walk from Haifa Sophia, Blue mosque and surrounding by cafes and restaurants so so vibrant. The rooms are luxurious and every staff member is so attentive and I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's breakfast. I highly recommend this for its fab location and maintaining their standard. It's not a super huge property seems more like a boutique hotel. Overall super comfortable stay so far. I do plan on coming back again. read more

Service and food are highly importantant to me. If the service wasn't so impeccable, I would have rated two-stars. However, at this Four Seasons location the Manager: Muhammed, Server: Melike and Bartender: Onur went out of there way to make sure we had a great dining experience--even though the first Mushroom Risotto that I had added Short rib had no mushrooms, basil and was WAY too salty, the manager Muhammed insisted on having the chef redo this dish, once it was redone, very delicious, unfortunately, I was a little turned off from the first version so I only had a bite however, if this redo was what should have been made--I would've eaten the whole thing. My partner had From the Wood Oven: PULLED SHORT RIB--Smoked Beef Short Rib, Potato, Sour Cream, Chestnut Mushroom, Aged "Kars" Gruyere--which he thought was just ok. I was very happy with my three night stay at this hotel. Everything is top quality from the front desk to the lobby service, breakfast dining to room housekeeping service to the doormen. The staff is very accommodating and they offer quality services. I had many encounters with the staff during my stay and everyone was equally friendly, helpful and welcoming. The bed was so comfortable and the windows open allowing evening air to flow in. The bathroom was very well appointed and supplied. The location is very central and is walking distance to the Topkapi Palace, the Grand Bazaar, Markets, Shopping, Cistern Museum, restaurants and more. This is my favorite hotel when I visit Istanbul and it is not only one of the best hotel's in the city but it's also one of the premier hotels in the Four Seasons portfolio. The hotel is consistently excellent and this visit was as good as any in the past. The staff is friendly and professional and the hotel is nicely maintained and despite the origins of the building the character has been retained and each corner and nook has architectural flourishes and nicely restored design details. The lounge area off the lobby is a great place to enjoy drinks and walking in the courtyard is a good way to appreciate the architecture of the building. The Sultanahmet location is possibly the best in Istanbul with a short walk to the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed) and right next to the Hagia Sophia. From our balcony we were able to see the Hagia Sophia up close - really close. The Blue Mosque is also visible (room dependent) and on a previous visit we had a good view from a different room and it's best appreciated at night. The restaurant is among my favorite in Istanbul and on this visit I ate many of my meals on site. This is not just a restaurant in a hotel but a destination for excellent service and dining. The rooms look nothing like standard hotel rooms with local design elements incorporated in the room aesthetic. The hotel offers Four Seasons service and quality yet it always feels like a non corporate boutique property and that can be a result of its smaller size, nicely decorated suites with an emphasis on its location and from the excellent personal service. There are two good hotels on The Bosphorus but The Four Seasons is in a better location and allows visitors to better appreciate Istanbul. read more

The FS is always wonderful. This hotel has been closed for two years for renovation and has only recently reopened in the last month just before our stay. We found this to be a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the old city. There is a beautiful tranquil courtyard in the center where the glass-walled restaurant is located for dinner, drinks, and breakfast every morning. It was a haven to return here when just a few steps outside is the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque and all the craziness of the vendors on the street trying to sell you something. Our room was wonderful and comfortable and quiet. The bed was amazing and it had all the modern amenities you could ask for including updated lighting, nightlights, and USB chargers. It was our honeymoon and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel special including a huge welcome gift with a wedding photo of us and tons of foods, Happy Honeymoon embroidered pillows, and a beautiful floral bouquet that was delivered later. Breakfast here is an experience where they offer something to please everyone - a small buffet, traditional Turkish pastries and egg dishes and many other things and you can get a sumptuous Turkish breakfast so large you won't need to eat the rest of the day until dinner. Service here was excellent and the coffee and tea stellar. The concierge as always, was fantastic. They helped with dinner reservations, booking a hamami treatment for us, money when the ATM was broken, COVID tests in the room prior to our departure for our cruise - and even arranged for us to ship back a huge box of items via FedEx taking care of all the details for us. A few things were disappointing - the rooftop bar and in-house spa was closed as well as ATM machine down and elevator issues. But they're still working out the kinks. Came to Turkey with my mom for 17 days this is our first hotel we are staying at and really doesn't look like much on the outside except for it's bright yellow color which stands out beautifully, we are staying here for 3 days. All I have to say is WOW, beyond exceptional the room, the service, the amenities and the delicious breakfast, everything was absolutely lovely and amazing, super friendly staff, clean rooms with beautiful views of the courtyard and more! Inside the rooms they have a bath, shower, places to sit and read, huge TV, and coffee/bar area! Absolutely loved my 3-day stay here since it's relatively close to monuments like Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Cisterna Basilica, and much more shopping and dinning areas! So many great places to eat and drink with rooftop views of the amazing monuments, close to bazaars just watch out for the cars! Absolutely loved my stay, all the staff definitely went above and beyond with the service and care, you really feel loved, and the food from the Avlu the restaurant in the courtyard is a must try with great wines and dishes! read more

Staying at this hotel will spoil you for the rest of your life. It is a decent drive from the airport so I recommend purchasing a round trip voucher that will set you back 570 lira. When you arrive you are greeted by name and they immediately swoop your baggage up to your room. You wait a couple of minutes to check in because they want to properly describe the experience for you. We arrived in our room with an amazing view of the Hagia Sophia but were disappointed we didn't get a king size bed. Within 10 minutes housekeeping pushed the beds together and made us our "king size" bed. Amazing! Your alarm clock in the morning is the 6am call to prayer that you can't miss hearing in your room. The views were jaw dropping from our room and the rooftop hotel bar. You are literally a stones throw from all of the major attractions. Let's talk about the small things that matter. US outlets so you don't have to convert, treats every night for turndown service with slippers, cloth to wipe down the tablet they noticed was dirty, little treats left in the room. The service was impeccable almost like the sneaky butler in Mr Deeds. Security was very tight with metal detectors upon entry. Contrary to popular belief I would say that Istanbul was one of the safer cities I have visited. We know we will return but maybe stay at the Four Seasons on the other side of town to experience the entire city. This hotel is definitely worth the splurge! read more

While we did not stay here at the Four Seasons, on a deluxe day-long excursion in Istanbul while the Nieuw Amsterdam was docked there for two days, after touring the nearby Topkapi Palace Diane and I enjoyed a well-executed Mediterranean Turkish lunch here. After a salad of thinly sliced tomatoes, zucchini, and Smoked Cheese with Beet Root Sauce that was garnished with orange segments, I enjoyed digging in to an adequate portion of moist and tasty Topkapi Chicken that was served with Rice, Raisin & Herb Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, and steamed vegetables. Service was brisk, efficient, and responsive. Even picky and vegetable-shy Diane liked this meal, which is why we booked lunch at the Four Seasons rather than at a restaurant of lower reputation or a local food stand. While I embrace the unknown in dining, my wife is much more cautious and less adventurous when it comes to culinary matters. For marital harmony I believe that I am wise to aim to please her limited and more simple palate--especially when we could have dined well and more safely on the ship! A gem in the middle of old city. As soon as you enter from the door, you are transferred to another era. Such beautiful architecture and well maintained grounds. The staff is very polite and hotel is pretty quiet. The location could not be better for those who want to see everything old city can offer. Steps away from Aya Sophia and Sultanahmet and a short walk from Grand Bazaar. The food is amazing as well. A compete Turkish hospitality is on display. Personalized service, every time we stepped out when we come back there was always a little surprise, like water bottle and a souvenir, some sweets, sleepers. They organized our room also, this happened 3 times in a single night stay. More than impressed. Great location, around the corner from Haiga Sophia and Blue Mosque. We were able to see everything in one day minus the Palace cause it is close on Tuesday. If you have limited time this hotel is your best option. We faced the Blue Mosque and never heard the call to prayer in the mornings so the windows are very soundproof. Ask a staff if you can see the on-premise mosque that used to be used by prisoners. How can I say anything bad about a hotel that covers your bed in rose petals when you tell them you're there on your honeymoon? The Four Seasons was really great. Of note: -The concierge desk was amazing. The two men we worked with there were amazing at giving directions, making reservations, and suggesting a hammam that was truly an amazing experience. - The treats! Every day we had new little treats waiting for us in our room--different (delicious) fruits (figs, bananas, cherries, apricots, nectarines . . . oh my god, the nectarines! incredible), pastries, turkish delight, chocolates . . . it was really nice. - The adapters in the room were super helpful. - The location is PERFECT for sightseeing around Sultanhamet. - The food! The breakfasts (which you can have in your room, which is ideal if you need to get up early for sightseeing) are so delicious and amazing. The restaurant is truly impressive. One of our best lunches in Turkey for sure. - The service. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful. This is a great option for a place to stay in Istanbul. We loved it. read more

If money were not an issue, this would be the place I would stay in Istanbul. Not only is the location excellent, but the interior is beautiful and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. I can't talk about the quality of the rooms as I didn't stay here, but I did stay down the street and did spend some time in their lounge and enjoyed a tour of the place from one of the friendly security guards. From the outside, this place looks like a fortress and actually used to be a prison before it was converted into a hotel. The lobby/lounge/courtyard on the inside are just really elegant and beautiful. They have a covered area outside in the winter months where you can sit and enjoy delicious herb-infused cocktails. When I was there they had Christmas lights all over and it was an incredible place to sit. I really recommend stopping by their lounge for one drink and maybe an appetizer. The security guards standing by the entrance to the property are also some of the nicest people on the planet - giving me helpful directions around the old city and, as mentioned before, a tour of the interior. One night guard saw me out feeding stray cats and joined in and introduced me to some of the stray dogs he knew. Sweetest man ever. The hospitality in Istanbul seems to be pretty great all around but the guards at the Four Seasons are the best. If you are going to Istanbul and looking for a luxurious, friendly and well-located place to stay, this seems ideal. If you are nearby in a cheaper place, I recommend using that saved money to come here and enjoy a delicious cocktail in the courtyard! read more

The hotel used to be a prison (what luxury to have a phenomenal view of the Blue Mosque everyday for prisoners), and there are reminders of the building's past in the hotel. I've stayed here a couple of times for overnight layovers as well as a longer trip to Istanbul itself, and while the Four Seasons Bosphorus edges out this location in terms of grandeur, the hotel is excellent in its own right. The location is perfect for sightseeing, situated just minutes away from attractions such as the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. The hotel itself exudes historic charm, with a cheery yellow exterior, an elegant lobby with Turkish decor, and a beautiful garden in the courtyard. It's really hard to believe that this place actually used to be a prison. The courtyard restaurant serves up a nice breakfast, and the rooftop terrace is an excellent place for grabbing drinks and snacks on a nice day while enjoying prime views of the Hagia Sophia. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, but feel slightly on the older side. However, there are still some modern touches, including electronic curtain controls, plentiful outlets, and an iPhone dock/speaker. Beds are comfortable, and the walk-in rain shower has excellent water pressure (toiletries are the standard L'Occitane). Housekeeping here is more thoughtful than most - I appreciated the little touches, such as a screen cleaning cloth left on the desk by my laptop, and ziplock bags in the bathroom prior to departure to pack toiletries for airport security. Service here is a highlight and I find it superior to the FS Bosphorus, where I encountered several service failures. The staff at the front desk and concierge are exceedingly friendly and accommodating, happily assisting with dining reservations and other matters. The doormen are great as well, proactively offering directions, helping with luggage, and calling Uber drivers to confirm the pickup location (since many of them seem to have difficulty finding the hotel). read more

As a tour guide I highly recommend this hotel not only because is the four seasons not only because of its proximity to the most important historical sites but also because Four Seasons is very good in creating such wonderful hotel out of old palaces or as it is in this case an old prison...and incredibly enough the building and it's inner gardens are much mora far from making you feel inprisoned...on the contrary you feel embraced and protected by it, and, the funny thing is that when you access to the hotel from the main gate there is an old inscription on it in Turkish but written with Arabic letters and it says "house of criminals" read more

My wife and I have been staying various Four Seasons (about 6] over the last five years. Our days of shortchanging ourselves are over so staying at the Marriott, Hilton, and that ilk are done. This is the best Four Seasons (Sultanahmet) I have ever stayed at- bar none. Rooms are classic. We stayed in the Presidential Suite so there is no comparison. Three balconies. We got a discount due to off-season. Still pricey, but you only live once baby and you can't take it with you. Worth the money and you won't hear me say that often. The staff - top to bottom- is remarkable. I can't say enough about the kindness and attention of the staff. They remember your name and know how to cater to you. Ive stayed in other expensive hotels and the staff is crap, so customer service makes a huge difference. Security is top notch, alert. We picked this Four Seasons over the other one in Istanbul because it is close to all the sites. The other Four Seasons does have a pool and kids club, but i like walking to all the historic sites - the Hagia Sofia is 250 yards from the hotel - 3 minute walk. The blue mosque is about 600 yards- 7 minute walk, and the grand bizarre is a 15 minute walk. And if you're lazy, you can take the tram to the bizarre in about a 3 minute ride. Iznik Classics is down the street. Instead of buying crap, go to him. Tell him Aine from Florida sent you. read more
