Hungry and with a lack of options in the area (everywhere was packed) we agreed to stand to order. Luckily, they brought out chairs within a few minutes. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder ($12) which came with bacon and sourdough bread. We thought this was just okay - I'm from New England so my standards for clam chowder run pretty high, and I wasn't particularly impressed with this one. It was fine though. We also got the fish taco trio ($21) to split. On the tacos were cabbage, chipotle, pico de gallo, and cotija cheese. You can mix and match between crispy cod, grilled cod, and shrimp. We got two crispy cod and one grilled. They came on corn tortillas which aren't my favorite but they held up decently well. It also had a small side of chips and salsa which was a nice surprise as it wasn't explicitly listed on the menu. I thought prices were reasonable for the area of Santa Monica and the food was okay. I would possibly go back if convenient, but I wouldn't rave about it.

I've known about this place as loads of friends have recommended it for lunch. Finally made a visit…read moreto it. First time and it was quite nice. It's located along the boardwalk at the beginning of the pier. Literally right at the base of it. Of course with the patio seating, that's the best seat in town. You have the view of the boardwalk and it perfect for people watching. When we stopped in, there was a security guard checking for ID. I guess even with a restaurant they carded people and stamped their hand for alcohol. Patio was open seating with wooden tables and umbrellas. There was two bar on the patio. Majority of the seating were outdoor. Later found out that there's a nice beer garden out back where the restroom was but it wasn't open. Staff were all friendly which is nice. It's a casual beachside cafe. Menu had your usual food, easy eats. Started off with a nice cold one which we were surprised when they brought it out. It was massive. Food, your usual beachside menu. The Philly cheesesteak, which everything as à la carte. It was decent, nothing major but good. Also an order of the chili cheese fries, fish and chips and a classic hot dog with trimming on the side. Food was decent for a beachside cafe. It's nothing fancy but a fun casual dining experience. Vibe and ambiance was pretty mellow and chill. When we were there it seemed more like holiday makers versus the locals. We had a nice experience for our first time and the service was great. Staff were all friendly and sweet. You never know what might be going on in front of this bar/cafe. We watched a guy and girl do a skate board photo shoot doing some crazy tricks. If that wasn't enough I won an engraved Stella goblet with my name engraved on it just for ordering Stella Artois. That just made my day. This place has a huge back patio 3 bars. Great staff! Super friendly. You do not wait for a table you seat yourself. Someone will come with a two sided menu. Now on to the food. The food is decent. Not over the top. Pricing is about $10-$20 depending what you order. We got the salad without feta cheese with ranch, which was ok. The clam chowder that I've seen raved about I was disappointed as it did not come in a bread bowl. But it wasn't bad. Fries were the perfect mixture of crispy and soft. The magi mahi sandwich was good. I bet they got a lot of dine and dashers previously because they take your credit card up front. So don't be surprised when they ask you for it.

Was a delight and perfectly situated beachside, with an outdoor patio 2 steps from the sand and the ocean breeze. The service here was absolute Perfection! Luis was amicable, timely, and thoughtful. He prepared our dishes and split them before we even asked. And on a hot summers day, I take my iced teas everywhere. Gotta stay hydrated! And he prepared mine to-go when we wrapped up our Linner. And headed out to see some Topanga Cyn real estate, a few miles away. My hubby loved his Hibiscus mezcal and of course my iced tea, hehe. We ordered Cesar salad and burrata. Nothing heavy, we just finished swimming laps and hubby went for a run. This meal was exactly what we headed. And of course, the hubby adores a Dodger game. So the game on TV was the icing on top. If you're searching for a luxurious, coastal cafe, with wonderful service, a light meal, and a view after a summer workout. This is IT. Also, there is a dress code: wear a coverup over swimsuit and don't arrive barefoot from the beach. :) We shall be back, had a great time guys and the nautical ambiance is gorgeous!

Coast is located on the lower floor and eye level with the beaches pedestrian walkway. We were able to catch the sunset, which was absolutely gorgeous and made me feel like I was on vacation myself. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the wagyu burger before my friend got into it because she was extremely hungry, but the fries were well done. I got the Chilean sea bass, and that was okay. The fish itself had a good texture and good flavor but just pairing with a few broccolinis and jasmine rice made it a little bland for me. We got the chocolate daisy cake, which was $20 for a slice. It was decent but I wasn't blown away by it, but it was my friend's favorite and she loved it. Overall, this is a cute place to grab a drink and some bites when in SM. The service was great! Our server took care of us because my friend has some specific requests for napkins. Haha

Our server greeted at the door and seemed great at first. We had immediate issues when our orders were brought out in a weird order and included items that we didn't realize would be included with it. The entrées themselves were extremely small and not worth the money; that was just including the parts that were actually decent to eat. We had some people on our group that had some food/dietary limitations that were not addressed when we ordered the food/not clearly stated enough on the menu, and when we politely address these to the server, he became very cold and rude. It took ages to get the replacement food out, and the server even tossed one of the plates onto the table and some of the food fell off of it and he did nothing to fix it. I have rarely seen experience as unprofessional and outright hostile before in an establishment like this, and to say that I was shocked with the severe understatement. To summarize: this was not a good experience whatsoever and none of us will be returning here again.
