Can I do less than one star? We have been loyal customers for over 15 years. We have even recommended Fowler to others. No more! The last tech we had, Ramon, provided exemplary service. Now we had Chris who first time we saw him felt the need to talk politics - unprofessional but we'll overlook. He proceeded to state that renters could call health department if we had an infestation of mice. We rent a clean summer cottage and have never had one renter complain. The foundation is old and he said needed repair. It is cost prohibitive and telling us to fix a problem we already know about seems counterproductive. Not very happy but next visit is scheduled this week. I call to request a phone call when Chris is on the way so I don't have to sit at rental property for hours. Have done this many times in past and only live 4 blocks away. Wait entire 3 hours no call. Then check email and have invoice with note that Chris has come and gone. He texted me and waited 20 minutes and I never showed up so checked exterior only. Now is time before rental season to treat both! Chris never called me nor texted. I waited by phone entire time. I specifically requested call. Only thought is maybe he texted landline but if so never received it. Full charge for half service at best. My husband called service manager stated we were unhappy. Service manager agreed to meet my husband at 9 am this morning. My husband went to cottage and waited and waited. When manager finally showed up late my husband asked what happened and was told to get over it. Things happen. No apology. A sorry goes a long way. He was so rude my husband said at this point we'll just cancel the service. Still no sorry and we are long time customers. One hour later this person calls my house to see if we want termite protection cancelled too. He is still rude still doesnt apologize. So I guess this shows how much long time customers matter to this company! read more

We have been a customer for many years and had 2 "wood destroying insect" inspections within 7 months of each other (for refi's). The management at Fowler was unwilling to skip a quarterly inspection for rodents (since the traps were checked a week ago by the technician doing the wood inspection) and chose to lose our business completely instead of losing $95 for one quarter's fee. The manager didn't and wouldn't even talk to the technician that was here last week. Talk about unreasonable and unprofessional?!?!?! How much sense does it make to throw away potentially thousands of dollars of future income and continued contracts over a measly $95. Not good business acumen. High marks to the technicians Shawn and LeRoy. They're the face of the company. If they only had competent management behind them, they wouldn't lose business! read more

** just a follow-up to the owner of this company contacting me and not being sure what else they could've done. Scheduling this service was not as seamless as reported by the owner.... In fact, I deal with 300 independently owned stores in my territory and The way that my phone call was handled, was subpar at best. The secretary at Fowlers explained in an almost robotic fashion that they couldn't perform any service the day that Mr. Fowler and I were to meet. it was only after I insisted that I was told he might be able to perform some work but they would have to be paid that day? I'm a big fan of saying how can I help you to my customers and yes... this is not what I experience with this company and it's exactly why I wrote this review. To add insult to injury to be told the payment was due upon service... When I'm telling the company that I'm a returning customer... well it's insulting. ***This used to be my go to pest company. I've used them for 3 properties at different times. I'm closing on a house in Chatham & called this week to have my house treated for mice and bats. I and was told that The technician would meet me between 1 PM and 3 PM to evaluate the property. I explained that I didn't live at the property and would it be possible to make an actual appointment & would it also be possible to just evaluate and treat the mice of that problem that I have that same day. It was explained that they would try and call before they came and it was unlikely that they could perform any service the day they arrived & if they could they would need payment? I wanted to tell her I'm a returning customer and I'm selling a $500,000 house do you think that I'm gonna have a problem writing a check for a couple hundred bucks & if you can't be bothered giving me an actual time to even have the property evaluated then let's just forget it. I ended up calling another pest company who was awesome! They did a thorough investigation and treated my past issue... problem solved. Gave us a quote for a chimney cap and other advice/inspection of the property. Very professional and prompt. They call you back right away. That ended up being a great decision. They are very attentive, detail everything that they will/are doing for you and they are very flexible with hours/dates/times. Fowler & Sons did an excellent job for my parents in ridding their house of extremely pesky mice who had taken over the otherwise inaccessible attic and dormer spaces, where two other firms had tried and failed before. It's not just the initial extermination, but the follow-up. They did a very sound job in finding and sealing every possible source of ingress, and on the quarterly visits (very reasonable at $75 a pop) to reinspect noticed potential trouble spots and fixed them (included) right away. It really seems like a lot of pest control places play a shell game, where they do just enough to get rid of the pests just long enough that you end up calling them again to pay again for a re-infestation. Not so with Fowler, who are very professional in all aspects. My thanks for their diligence. read more

Very poor service. We had to call twice to get an appointment. The secretary did not seem to know much about the business. We were told the service person would call us when he got to our home. He did not. We were told we would get an estimate within 2 days. It's going on 2 weeks and we have heard nothing. Would not recommend these guys to anyone. Very disappointed. read more

Raccoons in our attic! We have used Fowler and Sons for several years to do year-round pest control on our seasonal cottage in Provincetown and have always been pleased with their service. They are much more responsive and reasonable than the big chain exterminators. This May, we discovered that a mother raccoon and several babies were living in our unaccessible (except through air vents) attic. I immediately called Fowler and Sons and was really pleased to learn they have a certified large animal wildlife expert to handle such problems. Chuck Fowler was out the next day and developed a plan to encourage the mother to take the babies out on her own and find another place to live. This was the best scenario for our situation. It took a while as this was one stubborn momma, but Chuck's expertise and diligence finally got her to move on. We are so grateful to have them gone, not to have to cut holes in our ceiling and to have his advise on how to keep this from happening again. This really is a top notch company. read more
