The chips as side gave me something to munch on as I contemplated how best to tackle the mammoth stack of pulled corned beef and slaw. A firm squash down and centre cut worked well. I was truly satisfied by the end. My partner enjoyed The Pourhouse burger. Washing it down with schooners of Akasha (lager) and two heads (pale ale). One of the best beers I have had in quite sometime. It was considered a Vanilla Milk Porter. Very tasty. Other beers we had were good as well. Service was friendly and entertaining. Plus $6 Tecates, ask them to make you a lagerita, you'll love it, trust me, or your money back (you won't get your money back, I just made that up, but you should totally try one they're great). In the back there's an eatery / bistro area with a menu heavy in burgers and hot dogs and parmies and schnitties and everything fried and American and good in this world. Anything fried chicken is seriously great. I had the southern fried chicken burger with fat fluffy chips and I've never been so happy. There's a pool table, too, and when everyone gets loose the bar turns into an impromptu dance floor. It's a ton of good clean beery fun.

These were not the small tasters I've had in the states. Live music the entire time we were there. Seemed there were a bunch of locals sitting around the table playing different instruments. I don't think they ever took a break. Food was great and reasonably priced. I had a T-bone with a tasty pepper gravy, along with salad and chips. It was very tasty. We were thing about getting dessert but the kitchen was closed by the time we were done. (They close for a little while between lunch and dinner) It was busy the entire time we were there. My partner didn't like the amount of fat in his meal but for better or worse I ate every last piece of fat and meat I could scavenge from the knuckle. It was amazing! Ending the night with apple schnapps that were too strong for me but friend loved them. Both of us going traditional with the apple strudel and the Viennese iced coffee for my partner.
