Finally the George has got the food right! Over the last few years we have eaten there and been dissatisfied with the quality of food. Yesterday we went for dinner, our once a year "we'll give it one more try" (because we are local), and surprisingly the food was much better . I had the lamb two ways, which was actually two different lamb cuts done the same way ( but I won't hole that against them), with a nice sweet jus and delicate baby carrots and asparagus. The portion size was suitable, but I was glad I ordered a side of fries and a side of vegetables all the same because my husband's meal wasn't up to the same standard. He ordered the chilli king prawn pasta, which was off the chefs selection menu. It was dry and dull. Despite being $27 the pasta was equivalent to the supermarket packet pasta and there were prawns, but not many. Apart from that there was nothing else in this dish and it did not meet the mark. Lucky the George offers a dinner discount voucher and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely come back and try again sooner than later this time. read more
