Later, when applying for a grant, in 2023, a rejection notice came back and the organization explained that we did not receive the grant because the non-profit had not been in operation since 2017. This was shocking and upsetting to find out the nonprofit was no longer valid due to failure to file taxes. When looking into this matter, there was no mistake on our part. The mistake was trusting this company to guide and file the yearly taxes. James was quick to take the money but does not take responsibility for his failure and he passes the buck to his employees. He took advantage of an organization and person who do not know the first thing about these taxes and then he bullied and avoids taking responsibility for his failure. If he doesn't give back what he stole from the non-profit, for promised tax filing and neglect in his services (excluding the grant money that was lost), then there will be no other choice than to file more complaints regarding his organization or to take legal action for compensation....including the lost grant money.. We would also seek compensation for the trauma suffered at the hands of such irresponsible behavior. All the money he took and yet failed to file the taxes properly must be returned. Hopefully, he will learn from this and never let it happen again. It is very upsetting and we are still working through the fall out...which takes precious time and energy away from the non-profit. James must make it right by providing a full refund for the 9 years he or his "staff" did not file. He needs to make it right.
