However, over the past 5-10 years as he has scaled his business, the level of service has declined (first, a few minor mishaps here and there or things overlooked on my tax returns as I dealt with new, my guess, seasonal workers who never really took the time to know me or my finances beyond quick conversations). I saw less and less of him and more of other random employees handling my taxes. (It's fine, I guess. I'm not a millionaire, so perhaps he has bigger clients to tent to?!) His personal touch and friendly face was always a source of comfort during what could be an otherwise stressful time: tax season. The major issue I have -which has led to my final decision to take my business elsewhere- is with the front office staff which was at one time run by nice, friendly women but have now been replaced by Michael's wife "Ledy". She is rude and lacks basic customer service. Most of all, given that a large portion of Mr. Rose's clients are African American, she could use a course on "cultural competency" and learning how to speak to black folks versus talking down to them or like she is above them! I would conjecture that the frequent turnover in office staff is due to her poor management "style" and lack of respect. It's too bad that she has gotten in the way of what was once a wonderful professional relationship. Thanks to her attitude combined with the other personnel changes in the business, I will most definitely not be returning!

And then he'll seal up the paperwork and place it in a Priority Mail Flat Rate envelope and have you pay for the shipping rate and drop it off at your nearest post office....... My dad had a similar case as me and all my brother had to do was call the IRS line and they'll guide you through the process, FOR FREE!

He used to be a personal finance radio talk show host, which he let me know right off the bat. He spoke with me for less than ten minutes total on the topic for which I'd sought advice. Mostly he went on and on (and on) for an hour with canned, high school-level personal finance bromides irrelevant to my situation, interspersed with lots of unrelated chitchat. I kept trying to drag the conversation back to what I'd come for, but it was all about him, the former star of radio and college football. (I know, I shoulda excused myself and left, but was trying to be polite.) In the end, he said I owed him 200 bucks for his wise counsel, and suggested that I do business with a friend/family member of his who does mortgages. Conflict of interest, ya think? Man of my word (or sucker), I paid his fee. Bottom line: He's okay at income taxes. And if you want the experience of being on a personal finance a.m. radio talk show, Ed's your man. But if you want succinct, professional financial advice applicable to your situation, you might want to take your business elsewhere.
