I loved my studio and it's location and never had issues with the unit. The building is also secure and locked with code access required. The rent stayed the same for the almost 6 years. The place was beautiful and a blessing when I moved to Alaska. I also loved being so close to the lake hood trail.

The "lawn" outside the doorstep is dandelions that can range in length from one inch to one foot in length. Trash is strewn about near the dumpster. Hearing gunshots is not uncommon. And don't forget your drug addict "neighbors" who live in your carport, with a TV plugged into the block heater outlets, or a shopping cart; they regularly leave you presents, like used fentanyl foil or human excrement.

As a board member throughout those years, I/we have found PacRim to perform quite well. While we have transitioned through association managers as life carries on, and we have had our problems to deal with, we have found PacRim to be, while not perfect, better than average and we are highly pleased with their overall performance -- from their office staff, to association managers we have dealt with, and on to the owner/managers. While some people have left a negative comment about Alma, I can tell you know that she is the best at her job. Me and my neighbors love Alma and everyone that works there. Some are glad to downsize and simplify their lives as they age, and for others, there is real grief and sadness in leaving a beloved home out of necessity due changes in health or finances. Either way you could not find a warmer more welcoming community. Lunch and dinner can be purchased in the dining room Monday through Friday at reasonable prices. Portions are generous, and a thrifty senior would probably have enough leftovers to last through the weekend. Social events are held regularly and are well attended. I particularly enjoyed the seated Tai Chi class on Monday and Wednesday at 4:15. Chester Park is intended for those still fully capable of independent living, but many of the residents are significantly impaired and are able to remain here with additional hired help such as a visiting nurse, physical therapist, or home health aide. Those requiring skilled nursing services or those with moderate to severe memory impairment would probably need to transition to assisted living or memory care.
