We were the last ones in the restaurant and Eva was so nice, to the point that she sat chatting with us into the evening, as if we were old friends who had paid her a visit. What an incredibly friendly and interesting woman she is! On the way home we talked about what an enjoyable evening it had been and how glad we were to have gone. "Wow, can you believe THAT?" was actually spoken by my friend, referring to Eva's incredible hospitality and easy conversation. We consider ourselves lucky to have arrived just in the nick of time before the door was locked, and went away feeling like we'd made a new friend. It's a bit of a drive if you're from Winnipeg, but if you feel up to a little road trip I would highly recommend heading out to Vita and stopping in at Eva's. Used to be a bar called the Blind Pig... nothing wrong with that place either, but the Top Hat keeps things down to earth and just as good of not better. This is one of those bars where one can buy a bag of ice or a twelver of beer from the cooler case. If you'd rather sit and stay a while, tables and bar stools will give you a perch to rest your laurels. Occasionally this place gets lively, particularly when a bunch of folks on bikes passes through. Nice folks on both sides of the bar make this a great little spot. Good dinners too, if you're hungry... but I can't ever seem to figure out the kitchen hours. Can't imagine you'd plan a trip to Pisek, but it's your loss.
