Before they could start, a roomful of personal items needed to be removed from the space that my aunt and I could not have handled on our own. He and his partner helped get that moved out quickly, but sensitively, before ripping out the carpeting and carpet padding, then setting up fans and humidifier. They worked so hard over several hours. Thomas visited everyday to check progress. We felt better for having them doing the work. Thomas' demeanor and thoughtfulness kept us calm and reassured, which felt as important as the work he and his partner did. Everything from the kitchen was suppose to be individually cleaned and placed into a box due to the toxicity of the fire smut. However everything was just tossed (literally) into boxes. Broken glassware among other things. Some items were just placed in random spots in the garage. I've been finding them for 4 months now. Nothing was cleaned well, most items still had the powder from the fire extinguisher. Staples were left in the wall, crown molding was damaged, paint was damaged from the tape used, and the adhesive was left on wall & floors. After everything was said and done, the toxicity test still showed an elevated level. All that being said, when I contacted a claim adjuster they said they heard of fides, and he does great work, just not for fires. Which was my experience.
