Their range of art materials is quite good, although a bit limited when compared to the larger art retailers. Their real specialty is framing, which they do well and have a good range of frames available, although again nothing, spectacularly exceptional. The real reason Pimlott Framing, stands out to me is that they are one of the few stores in Adelaide that stock d-rings (the standard picture hanging supports required by most galleries), in large quantities, and at close to wholesale prices. I was recently preparing for an exhibition of about 15 paintings and spent about two days running around every art store/picture framer in town looking for d-rings until I found Pimlott. An absolute life saver. Also, Pimlott, also stocks lots of other hard to find materials for do it yourself picture framing, which is great if you are trying to do things on the cheap.

The store design is vintage glamour cabaret style, with red velvet curtains and chandeliers, and the clothes are in good condition with some decent labels to be found like Wheels and Doll Baby and Mink Pink. They also have a range of cool T-shirts the boys would be into. The prices were a little higher than I expected, I think this will be more of a high end vintage store than a bargain op shop. The store owner was super friendly and very chatty, she was web surfing for website design inspiration and shared some handy Moulin Rouge trivia with me while I browsed. This little store deals with fashion for men, women and children. You can find new pieces or older, I suppose you call them vintage, pieces. A lot of the clothing is actually really nice. I wish it fit my normal style. As it is, if I was seen wearing some of the stuff they sell people would wonder what happened to me. I'm more of a "smart casual" dresser. Maybe it's time for a change... As it is, there's a bit of everything here, and with a bit more digging around I'm sure even I could find something to walk away with. Lending a whisical, dreamy and romantic ambience, this delightful giftstore has now become my favourite place to shop. I picked up a chocolate shaped teaspoon for my sister, to enjoy her daily delightful treats and a heady mix of jasmine and vanilla scented sachet to intoxicate my drawers. Cream bird cages and black framed Eiffel Towers lay outside the store for all to gaze and fall in love with. They are magnifique and will add much charm and character to any dull room. You'll find inspirational journals here, stunning jewellery holders, printed tea towels, linens, accessories, home decor and just about anything that would appeal to us women. There are so many items in here and definitely not big shoulder bag territory, otherwise it'll be a very expensive visit. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of financial investment businesses such as this one make on their stock and when is it considered to be too much stock. A blend of folk art items to shabby chic, decorative outdoor wire love seats - which are going to be really hot stuff left in the sun!

It is actually two shops with one entrance and opened up in the middle. And it is jam packed all the way to the ceilings. Not a great place for kids to be running around inside. They have a massive range of model kits and accessories for all sorts of stuff like aeroplanes, buggies, earthmovers, trains and helicopters. I like going to shops like this occasionally when I need a present for someone and have no idea what to get. You can always find odd things in stores like this and little extra's that you would not find at other stores, therefore your gift is always unique.

The staff are friendly and are well versed on different models and collectors items. While the store may only be small, it is certainly packed from wall to wall. Pricing wise, it is obviously a tad expensive however there are very few model shows around these days so I guess supply and demand comes into play with this. The store has somewhat unusual trading hours, so it is always good to check before you go. Also, it also helps if you do your homework beforehand and actually get model numbers and details, as this can really help with finding the parts you need. From past experience, I have been able to find what I need on at least four occasions of being there, even though that was several years ago, which was quite promising.

It's quite spacious and has a room off to the side where they do scrapbooking classes, the cost on average is $15 for tuition and then extra for the paper and embellishments. It can get pricey depending on what items you choose! If you're already a full fledged scrapbooker or want to have a dabble at home, then there's nothing they don't have, the paper range is extensive, embellishments galore, stamps in rubber and silicone, scissors, glues, ink, punches, various tools, books and much more. The whole idea of scrapbooking is to be adventurous and use your imagination, as it's not just about prettying up photo albums. For instance what about making some Xmas decorations of your own or making napkin holders for dinner parties and make it as posh or low key as you like. Max Mara on North Terrace sell high end fashion with high end prices to match. They are an Italian…read morefashion label that have been around for 60 years or so. While their range is as pricey as hell, it is truly beautiful and if you could ever afford to buy their clothes you would more than likely have it in your wardrobe for years and years. Max Mara are probably best known for their coats. I do remember an old episode of 'The West Wing' when Press Secretary CJ Cregg commented on the fact that she was wearing a Max Mara coat and from that moment on, I have always wanted one myself. I have been known to pop into Max Mara on North Terrace and try on the odd coat but then have looked at the price tag and been scared away for another 12 months. I continue to live in hope of buying one eventually though.

I hadn't come across this store before, so popped in to see what they do. I was impressed by their…read morerange of notepads and account books. I could find any size here I needed! I stocked up on a couple of obscure sizes I use for everyday notes. I was bemused by the shelf of instant coffee and kitchen cleaners in the centre of the shop, then more so by the paper plates and cups nearby. Then I realised - it's EVERYTHING an office could need. How clever! I always got cranky if our shop kitchen didn't have coffee or milk. Way to keep the employees happy - stock up on caffeine when you pop in for 500 reams of paper. In terms of paper, they're not very cheap, but they have a large range of oddities, like all different sizes and widths of receipt papers and specific printing paper. They also sell ink jets and blank CDs and DVDs, which always come in handy. A good little store, with friendly staff.
