I have Frankemuth home insurance and had my garage door bent in and shingles on the roof blown off in the same wind storm, this insurance company had there adjusters come out and say "the garage door yeah that was damaged by the wind...but the roof, while the shingles were blown of by the wind it wasn't the wind that damaged the roof" well I've had many wind storms and never had damage until this particular storm that also damaged the garage door. I would recommend finding a different company as I will be looking for one as well. read more

They have refused to reimburse me from years ago from when my garage was broken into. They refuse to give me instructions on how I'm supposed to replace all that was stolen on a fraction of the cost. And we have gone through EPIC inflation while I'm still waiting for POSITIVE results. I was flooded a couple years ago due to neighbors above me. It was literally "raining on me" and I was standing in inches deep of water in my home. No one ever called me back. No one comes to help or evaluate... NOTHING! They have sat on my auto claim (hit and run) for over two years. Now they want to total my car because they refuse to fix my car. Horrible at keeping things straight. We were in the process of moving and i changed payments to monthly instead of yearly and they dropped my house insurance but kept Auto, their mistake. They gave me a hard time reinstating it then when I actually cancelled both policies when we moved and obtained new insurance they messed that up as well as payments. I continued to get bills and late fees months after we moved. Horrible to deal with. What should've been one or two calls ended up being over 15 calls over 4 months. If you deal with them, keep a paper trail. I now have a binder. read more

Shame on you Kaitlin!!! My husband broke his arm in 3 places , dislocated his arm, and tore his rotator cuff when he fell in January on the ice at work. It has taken this long for his arm to heal so he could have surgery. When he got ready to see the surgeon. He was told by Kaitlin that he couldn't see the surgeon he had to see their quack Dr who they flew in from Wisconsin. He saw my husband for 15 mins took some measurements didn't go over his medical records and the visit was done. My husband just received the letter from this Dr. stating that all his injuries were from a previous injury. There were no previous injuries documented in report. The Dr. stayed that because my husband is over weight and has diabetes that is why he hurt himself! This Dr. also states that my husband is on permanent restrictions he can never lift his left arm to do any overhead work. So, he can never use his left arm again, the same arm he was able to use fully until his fall in January! Instead of paying for surgery to fix his arm he is just put on permanent restrictions. He was rushed to ER the day he fell! My husband's surgeon said that they can't dispute his injuries he broke his shoulder in 3 places the day of the fall! Now my husband may have to sue his company and work comp to get his shoulder fixed and lose his job!!! I can only hope and pray that God shows you the same kindness and support that you have provided to my husband in this time of pain and suffering! I'm not sure how you can sleep at night when you are ruining hard working people's lives! Shame on you!!!!!! Your company would probably have a lot better ratings if you really cared about your customers and you did what you were supposed to do to take care of the medical and financial needs when someone gets hurt at work and just wants to get back to work healthy. God is never going to bless a company that is paid monthly to protect a company's workers and just keeps the money for themselves by using quack Drs from a different state to write up a false report so they don't have to pay out any money! I had some neighbors trespass on my property and use my driveway as their child's personal playground despite my having told them several times that they are not to be on my property. They decided to do this at the same time my son had taken our small dog outside to play in the fenced back yard and somehow our dog slipped out of the fenced yard and chased after the child on his scooter. The mother started screaming that our pup had bit her child, which wasn't true; my son was present the entire time and saw exactly what did and did not occur. I did the right thing and notified my insurance company at the time, Frankenmuth Insurance. The parents never pursued any legal action (I suspect they couldn't find an attorney to take a case where they had committed criminal trespass and there was no proof my pup had so much as touched her child ) and the only thing that came of it is I was cited $25 by the City for having my dog "running loose" even though she was on her own property property (aka: my property) the entire time and never once left our property. I received notice yesterday that Frankenmuth would no longer insure me because of the "incident." An "incident" that didn't result in anything whatsoever and didn't cost them a single cent and yet I have paid them hundreds of dollars. WOW, if an insurance company is legally permitted to do that, it amounts to highway robbery in my opinion. The home owner pays their annual, or monthly, fee to be insured but when it comes to putting their money where their mouth is they cut and run. This feels like Frankenmuth is basically stealing all the money I have paid them over the years but when it comes to them doing what they have been paid for, they dump the client. I can't tell you how disgusted I am with Frankenmuth. I consider them nothing more than thieves and I can't even begin to imagine what would happen if one of Frankenmuth's customers had to actually submit a claim. I feel like I have been scammed by them. read more

Mortgage servicer failed their legal obligations to pay Frankenmuth on time with an escrow. Frankenmuth cancelled the policy, and due to the fact that they do not actually have their own agents who are licensed, they cannot directly deal with a consumer on policy quotes. Or so they told me, when I asked why they did not contact me. When I, the consumer, and customer, finally discovered my servicer's mistakes (via a Cancellation letter from Frankenmuth), they refused to reinstate the policy as they did not get a response back to the agent they had *email* me only. I called, begged, and pleaded for them to worth out a deal for a 5 year customer, was hung up on by the underwriters, and politely told they would make no exceptions to their policies. Would not recommend dealing with these folks again, and I will sway anyone I deal with to avoid them. read more

From lost my paperwork to Not requesting my Drs paperwork to lost checks in the mail lol. Adjuster refuses to answer phone it's call back next day period. On April 3 2018 we had a House fire the home did not burn to the ground but the fire destroyed the west Half of our home. The fire spread through the attic and opened over 50% of the roof. I contacted my agent Eric MacKinnon he decided to come out the home on the 5th due the Bad snow storm we were had on the 4th. Eric MacKinnon seems like a great guy but here is where everything goes down hill. Eric and Purves decided to leave the roof open to our Michigan weather. Think we had record rain fall in the month of April. He had Jason Purves owner of (Purves Construction of Clio Michigan) come out and do a repair estimate. They did everything on the cheap side, missed quite of items, did not quote it to make it the same close but not the same. It took Purves over a Month and Half to get a estimate done. I called Purves and asked Jason if they handed in my Estimate. He was Not happy with me he was told by Eric that I was having someone else repair my home. Which was not the case only if it was a total rebuild, this is where the Purves told me "well we got your estimate done they did a crappy job on purpose do it couldn't be done proper. Now its been over a Month and half wilt 10" of snow and 20 days of rail dumping into my home. I emailed Eric and told him the second story of my home was rotting and full of mold he didn't seem to care. 10 days later he sends me a check says we are good have a builder sign saying they will fix it for xxxxx amount. I had to hire an attorney it was decided to both sides to hire a Structural engineer so we did. June 25th 2018 Lucas Pachal came out from Nederveld Inc., Forensic engineer. He did his job and told me it was awful 2nd floor sub floor had to be removed had wood rot ect... Got the report on July 9th. I was happy looks like things are going fair. Eric made a phone call to Lucas had him make some changes to the report. New report change on July 16th per Eric's Phone call according to Lucas. I don't have anyone that will repair the home it will cost more to repair it than replace it, according to Lucas and my Engineer. Eric has threatened me and my family saying I have to be out by October in the renal home we are in. when the landlord says he was offered another 6 months for us to stay, Eric has done everything to make our lives stop. The home is still open to the weather and rotting. I have friends and family, and some business that are in the process of cancelling your insurance company. My mother had damage to her car from a pothole in Northern Michigan and declined a rental car as the claims processor said the claim would be paid out on Monday. Its Thursday, no check yet, Frankenmuth Insurance is blaming the shop. The shop has proof that faxes went through. They will not rent her a car now because hers is repaired. The shop will not release the car unless its fully paid. Frankenmuth Insurance dropped the ball BIG TIME!!!! My mother has a baby shower to be at in Saginaw this weekend and cannot go now as she can't afford to pay the total bill out of pocket. No apologies or regret on their end. SAD SAD SAD!!!! read more

I recently found mold along my basement carpet and on a few pieces of furniture. After investigating the reason for water in my basement, I discovered a section of a fixture (downspout) had broken. Normally, the rainwater from my eve troughs goes directly to my tile system; taking the rainwater collected away from the house. This break caused the rainwater collected in my eve troughs to be dumped near our house. I have never had water in my basement before this break in the fixture. When I filed a claim Frankenmuth denied it stating the damage was due to flood water. Interesting, I have never had water in my basement before the fixture was not intact. Finally, now that the fixture is fixed, even after a big thaw with lots of snow on the ground and roof, I don't have any water in my basement. I would strongly think twice before trusting your investments with Frankenmuth Insurance. read more

I've used Frankenmuth for my auto insurance since about early 2016. One claim so far: My car was legally parked in my driveway and unoccupied. A serviceman ploughed into it when backing out of the driveway. He hit it in worst place he could -- above the rear tire. That meant the entire quarter panel had to be replaced -- a repair that was estimated at about $2,000 - $4,000. I decided to sell it to a college kid who really wanted my car (a Honda with standard transmission) because he liked the make but was having a hard time finding one with a stick. Prior to the body damage the car was out of his price range, but with the damage (unrepaired) it was in his price range. He was going to get it repaired on his own. So I simply asked Frankenmuth to cut me a check for the cost of a reasonably priced estimate for repair. That they did, with no complaints. read more

I have to admit after seeing the reviews on Frankenmuth Insurance I was nervous about my claim. I hit a deer on 75. I called AAA for tow, then called Frankenmuth for guidance. Within 2 weeks car went into collision shop. Waited waited 4 days for the appraisal from the shop. 24 hours after appraisal was.notified that Frankenmuth was totalling out the car and would be receiving a call from the loss division. Got that call that evening with instructions of what I needed to do. Which I did the next day. By this time a week had gone by. Last Thursday I emailed them to inform them I had cleaned out the car and sent off the title. Monday night I got a message they received info they needed from my financial institute and myself and had released funds. Today exactly 2 weeks later I received.my check in the mail. Good communication, prompt customer service, and reasonable payoff. Sure I would have liked more, but considering I owned the car 18 months and received 800 less then what I initially paid for it wasn't bad. The fact I can't find another similar for even.what I paid for it just shows I got a good deal in the first place. read more

Stay Away from this company. They will not honor your claims. on 2/7/19 I filed a claim with this insurance company. My first claim ever with Frankenmuth...I have several commercial policies with them..We had a deep freeze (-26 degrees) in Carlisle OH. Due to the cold weather we had some damages to our plaza. Roof, water pipe, furnace, water well, etc... From the get go the adjuster had her own agenda which was to deny the claim. She showed up to inspect the premises without a ladder! How could an adjuster inspect a roof leak with no ladder? She told our tenant she planned to deny the claim no matter what. I called her on it. I said, how could you deny a claim without going up on the roof? without any inspection? what kind of adjuster are you? She realized she messed up ...so she ordered a forensic engineering firm to do the dirty work. Basically these companies are paid to side with the Insurance companies. The Forensic Expert based all his assessment on us not having heat in the premises during the deep freeze. He based his conclusion that the roof leaks were due to normal wear and tear and bad workmanship....I submitted proof directly from the utility company that we in fact had heat, before, during and after the incident. I provided proof to the forensic expert that the roof was a total tear off and brand new...(the expert even sent out a sample of the rubber roof to find out when it was manufactured!) so his arguments and conclusion were total BS. We remolded this plaza and showed the expert and the adjuster proof of a complete brand new roof, furnace, plumbing, remodeling, etc..I have filed a claim with Ohio State Dept of Insurance and planning to file another claim with Michigan Dept of of Insurance. I am planning to file a lawsuit as well...This company will fight you tooth and nail not to pay for your claims...they rather pay $2000 for an expert witness than to pay you for a $2000 claim...be aware... read more

From 2014 until today Frankenmuth continues to refuse to allow us any medical care for our substantial injuries, denied my wage loss benefits, our replacement services benefits and attendant care benefits. They utilize stratigies to physically, mentally, and emotionally destroy you as well as financially. At the same time they raise your premiums by 300 - 500% and you were not the at fault vehicle. I had a small parking lot bump because of ice. No damage to my car but the other guy put in a claim for $1000. That was exceedingly generous as the only thing damaged was his license plate frame. After 3 years that claim has cost me over $3000 in increased premiums. I guess I'm the dumb one for putting up with it for 3 years.
