Bearing in mind that it's an airport restaurant, it wasn't all that bad, but still would be unacceptable anywhere outside of an airport environment. I ordered a side salad and a margherita pie and my total was around 16 quid. The food was brought over quickly and I was able to order off a QR code from my phone which was convenient. There's a decent amount of seating. The side salad was pathetic and overpriced for the portion. The pizza (£11 I believe) was a decent size but it came out as if it were already old and the crust was just terrible. The service puts this place at a 4. The food is your average Frankie and Benny's. We went in here for breakfast before setting off. We got seated immediately, our waiter was smiley and helpful and took our orders straight away. I wanted to change the egg to cheese on my burger, which was not a problem at all. Drinks arrived within a matter of minutes, then five or so minutes later, the food arrived. The waiter cleared the table down and left us with the drinks. We were sat by the coffee bar, which was a bit annoying, but you know what, for a airport place, it is absolutely fine to come here. Frankie & Benny's - always a disappointment. When you're at the airport, your options are just so limited, so we found ourselves at F&B. There was a queue to get in (even though there were plenty of seats) and I was annoyed that at such a place at 10.30am, you could only get breakfast. So I started off already miffed with the experience but then our waitress came and she was lovely and all was fine. I ordered the sausage omelette. It tasted good but at £7.95, for an omelette which had nothing except a chopped up sausage in it, it was pricey even for airport food. The only other things on the plate were half a grilled tomato and a single grilled mushroom. We had plenty of time so we weren't rushing, so when the waitress promptly cleared our plates, we didn't immediately ask for the bill (nor did she offer). 20 or so minutes later, when we couldn't get ANYONE'S attention, we realised our error. Finally when I stood up, put on my coat, put my handbag on, and stood there with my carry-on in my hand, she magically appeared. Simply put, my previous experiences with the chain has meant that I would not have come here if there was any other reasonable options for a breakfast. But this is an airport, one which seems to be under a lot of construction, and there was simply no other choice in this instance. They were still serving breakfast when I arrived, although switched to the regular menu when it hit 11am. I had the traditional breakfast, while Nickie had an omelette "filled with sausage". Never seen a filled omelette before - surely that just means it's a sausage omelette. Quick answer - it was a sausage omelette, not a newly invented calzone-esque omelette with sausage in the centre. The server was polite, and this was going on to be my best ever experience at a Frankie & Benny's and then... we finished our food. And we waited. And waited. And waited. We should have just walked out. Twenty five minutes later we finally got our waitress' attention so we could pay. This was after we stood up and started putting our jackets on. Another couple in our section ate their food and after waiting a similar time just got up and waited by the server station for her. In the end she actually got a tip (a very minor one) as I paid in cash so we could get to our flight. Seriously F&B, pulling this sort of stunt at an airport, especially when there's a queue of people waiting to get in out the front and you want the tables anyway? In summary, the food was fine. The Good: Luton Airport is a nigthmare of activity. If you want a quiet meal, this is probably your best bet, post-Security. The waitstaff is attentive, and generally responsive. Cappucino was well done. Kudos on that! The Bad: Food service is slow. When you're waiting for a plane, the last thing you want to worry about is whether or not you'll get your food before you have to board! I was quite surprised to wait 15+ minutes for a hot breakfast after ordering. The Ugly: Food was mediocre, at best. Hollandaise sauce on eggs was forgettable, and the "poached" egg was well beyond soft-boiled. Perhaps I should have stuck to a traditional British breakfast, which is harder to muck up. Eggs benedict is high on the Not Recommended list. The Bottom Line: Food is not expensive, by airport dining standards. But slow wait and forgettable food leaves the peace and quiet of a serviced table as the main redeeming quality of this establishment. Were there more choices at Luton, I'd definitely not recommend this one. the place does not deserve the actual 2 stars rating. Me and my wife ordered 1 chicken sandwich and 1 teaser salad and both were good, very decent, I would go there again for sure. The service was a little bit confusing and they sell Sprite as being a White Lemonade, LOL, they need to clarify that better. The price is not high as is expected on airports, is like in the city. Seriously the staff do make an effort but the reason it's getting a three star review is the scam they are running on toast. It was an extra £4.50 for two slices of brown toast. How the hell can the business justify that kinda mark up for toast. So sure drop by for breakfast but be prepared to wait and I'd stay clear of the toast... I had no problems with the staff and they were very attentive to me but they might have run a bit smoother with one or two more staff on the floor. What a ridiculous experience verging on the comedy. A million waiter and waitresses milling round whole food goes cold waiting to be served. I have never seen so many staff talking with each other, walking around and food going cold in a serving hatch ! My God glad not the manage here. Often you reap what you sow in terms of service. If your pleasant you will find others are too. F&B Luton is in my opinion better than most of their branches bearing in mind the volume of people they deal with. The staff overall are good and a few outstanding. Pricewise it is not recognised by the customers that Luton Airport charge a big fat fee for each business operating there that pushes prices up. Coupled with the fact the place is open some 20 hours a day the food prices reflect operating costs. The food standard can at times be variable but as a frequent user i have had little to complain about. Service is often fast and staff are pleasant but I am surprised at some customer attitudes that is see treating waitresses in a very sub serviant manner, not surprising those people get few smiles and perhaps brisque service. Overall I would give this establishment 4 stars and my critique is based on using them at least once a month read more

The service in this particular branch was mediocre. The waitress who I shall not name and shame was always concentrating on everything else that was happening around her and not when she was with us. The food was still great and apart from this probable one time blooper Frank and Bennies keeps its amazing reputation for food. Worst Burger in my life. Dry, industrial deep-frozen pattie, hard and dry bun. For such en expensive menu the quality was abysmal.
