I understand fire safety work costs money and I'm not expecting bargain bin pricing for life safety systems. But for that kind of charge, the work should at least look professional when they leave. That was not my experience. The technician came out, didn't appear prepared with the necessary parts, left to get what was needed, came back and the final installation still looked poorly seated and sloppy. The detector does not look cleanly installed against the ceiling, which is exactly the kind of detail that makes you question the care behind the work. Fire protection is not cosmetic. It is one of those trades where competence, preparation and finish matter. If you are charging a premium, the work should feel premium. This felt like an expensive service call followed by a rushed install. Maybe the system is technically working now. I hope it is. But as a customer, seeing nearly $500 billed for work that looks like this does not inspire confidence. I would not choose this company personally. UPDATE: Ryan contacted me personally after seeing this review and returned to inspect the heat detector. He corrected the installation and provided a 25% courtesy refund. I genuinely appreciate that he took ownership of the situation and followed through on his commitment to make things right. Accountability matters. Ryan was professional during the return visit, listened to my concerns without being defensive and made a sincere effort to resolve the issue. Because of that, I've updated my rating from one star to three stars. I'm leaving my original review intact because it accurately reflects my initial experience, but I also believe it's important to recognize when a company responds with professionalism and makes a good faith effort to earn back a customer's trust.

Frank did our Fire Sprinkler inspection(s)/repairs and the work he completed was good but unfortunately, the reason for us hiring this company was for our Fire Department Inspection. Now we have to find another company to come out and do another inspection (which we already paid for 2x to Central Fire - once for our initial inspection then once again after the repairs). Golden State Water didn't call back until hours and hours after I reported a water leak emergency, and the regular plumber who came out (while a really excellent person) unfortunately didn't have the licensing or training on how to solve this. The team at AFPS hopped on a FaceTime call with me and talked me through locating and shutting off the water and open the drain valve to prevent further water damage. Afterwards, they were able to come out and fix the specialized pipe. Their price was reasonable, they had a positive attitude throughout, and even identified a problem with the build where it looks like the builder didn't put a nail plate in the stud to protect the pipe. They installed a nail plate at no added cost at their own expense. Overall, they solved what was a quickly growing disaster and I am very grateful for their support. Also, although I'm leaving a glowing review--they never asked for a review. They didn't offer freebies of any kind for a review like I've seen with some other businesses.
