I've been wanting to visit Wurst since arriving in Oslo and finally made it. Be warned, as of right…read morenow, the hours on Yelp are incorrect. They don't open until 2pm on Sundays, I will try to get Yelp to update. We showed up at noon so had to figure out how to waste a couple hours, which was a bit difficult since most retail in this area is closed on Sunday. We were starving once we came back at 2pm, and each ordered a dog. We can't read Norwegian that well so kind of flew by the seat of our pants, but it turned out all good. The beer selection here is good, and not horribly overpriced. I really like the vibe of the place, it's spacious, had covered outdoor seating, and comfy to hang out and stay a while. We both really enjoyed the dogs, I like mine best but my husbands was really good too. He got the Puerco, and I don't remember the name of mine. We also got the polse chip things which were interesting... they were thinly sliced sausage cooked until crispy and you dip them in bbq sauce. Definitely one of my more favorite stops in the Sentrum and I know we will be back!

I spent a week in Iceland and Norway with my wife and we ate a lot of hot dogs. Like, too many. The…read morebest, though, were here. The menu can be a little difficult to navigate on your own, but the employees are able to help if you need it. Google Translate gets the job done too. Most surprising was the vegan dog; it didn't have the snap of the other sausages but otherwise it was indistinguishable from them. We had 4 of them (Puerco, MIM, Completo, and Bunga Bunga) and the Puerco (chili dog with chips, cheese, and their chili mayo) was the clear favorite. They also have a dozen beers on tap here, originating from the US to Japan. Total cost for 4 dogs + 2 beers was 532 NOK (about $66 US) which is an average price.

After seeing the pictures online, I ended up pretty disappointed…read more The cookies in my ice cream sandwich were stale and tasted store bought. Definitely not sweet or fresh or good at all. The woman got REALLY offended when I asked to sample the ice cream flavors. It was my first day in Norway and i had never seen brown cheese before, so I had wanted to sample that flavor of ice cream before ordering but she got really angry at me when I asked about doing that, and kept just telling me it tasted like the cheese. And then I would explain how I'd never had the cheese. And she would get mad and the cycle would continue before i just stopped her and ordered the cheesecake flavor. It was ok, but not great. She asked me if I wanted toppings so I said yes and got the sea salt and the jam. The jam definitely was the only thing that transformed the cheesecake ice cream into being good, so that was a good move. The sea salt was a wasted few dollars cause I couldn't taste it at all, but oh well. There isn't really seating in the place so I had to take my ice cream to the streets, which was messy when it's an ice cream sandwich. But again oh well. Overall, it was one of the most disappointing things I've eaten in a city with generally really good food. And after being in Oslo for a month, she is still by far the only rude and mean Norwegian I've met. It's a shame to think that other tourists might go there and be treated so badly, and then maybe think that all Norwegians are like that. I hope she finds a job that's not in the service industry. Anyway, don't waste your time. Not a good experience in any way, especially those bland cookies.

Somehow I really wish I loved Ice Crime, but also that they lived up to my hopes and expectations…read more When your only point of focus is ice cream, the ice cream provided should be nothing short of excellent, refreshing and new. In stead I found most of the flavors (among those I've had thus far) to be quite bland. Say for intanse the orange blossom: I like the idea, fantastic potential, the flavor is good, but it completely lacks explosiveness or any kind of peak. The texture is so-so, a little too runny in my opinion. I was told there's a goat milk-ice cream available, but 2/2 times they have not had it. Service is quite split. On one hand it almost feels as if you're not cool enough to be there (and that is no good survival-attitude in this fine city), on the other it's alright. It all depends on who's there to process your ice crime record. The location is just off Youngstorget, but with a street with no sunshine and no good seating. This is definitely a come-and-go establishment. They do however have an awesome photo-wall, so make sure to get your Ice Crime-mugshot before you leave.
