I was booked to see Dr. Peter Fuller, and was very pleased that I did. He was very familiar with the symptoms I described, had me do a few leg exercises and predicted it was a stress fracture of the tibia. He then advised that I have an MRI performed on my legs to properly diagnose it. He organized some papers, and had them faxed through to the radiology place so that I wouldn't need to bring any papers with me when I went. I am extremely happy with LifeCare, not only is Dr. Fuller friendly and knowledgeable, but also the staff are very considerate and personal. Example, when I phoned to make my first booking I asked about the price and the effects of a health care card (none). A few minuets after the phone call, the receptionist phoned me back to advise me that if I get a doctors referral first, I would get a greater Medicare rebate (and therefor save more money). I thought this was extremely considerate that the woman bothered to call me back to let me know. Another time I was in urgent need to see dr. fuller that day, but he was completely booked out. After I explained out urgent it was (I couldn't stand) she said she would ask dr. fuller if he would be able to squeeze me. She called back 10minuets later with an availably for me later in the day. I would definitely recommend lifecare to anyone need a specialist doctor, they offer sports doctors, physio's, podiatrists and many other services.

In the States, I saw a podiatrist, who gave me injections and some temporary relief. My Bestie in Melbourne insisted that I see Paul Karak while I was staying with her. He treated me with dry needling and adding pads to all of my shoes. HE LITERALLY CHANGED MY LIFE. I walk without pain and when I returned to Seattle, I started to receive dry needling (Also known as Intra-Muscular Stimulation) for chronic shoulder pain. 15 months later: my feet remain completely healed. I would say if you need to do physio workouts in a structured way either in 1 on 1 with physio in the gym or by doing a semi private physio pilaties class and your in the west side it's probably the best one in the area. When choosing a physio here make sure you choose a senior physio if you get a inexperienced one you will regret it. I come here now for my knee injury and do pilaties twice a week as part of my recovery and it's certainly better then doing a physio workout routine at home.The pilaties reformer is the best way to get back into it after a injury.

They have been so wonderfully helpful, supportive & professional in helping me sort out my various sports related injuries in the build up to my first Ironman Triathlon. Jay (physio) & Roz (remedial massage) have been crucial in getting me to the start line in the best shape possible after quite a few injury setbacks. They provide excellent treatments (massage, dry needling) and brilliant "homework" including gym programs, running technique, self-massage & stretching tips, plus more to get you back on track as soon as possible. The reception staff including Brit, Elly & Cassie are also super lovely & accommodating at fitting you in for last minute & after hours appointments where possible. If you have a niggling injury I highly recommend these guys (as do many sporting teams around town who use these guys too - think Melb Storm, Melb Rebels, Northern Blues VFL etc)!!

You can go to a generic Pilates class and do the exercises but are they a program that is working on what you need fixing? I have been attending Recover Sports Medicine for a short time, and working with expert physio Elle, and found that I'm seeing fast results in both posture, shoulder movement and core strength that are helping in everyday life and on the footy field. We started out with a number of individual sessions that included a combination of massage and exercise coaching and I have now progressed to small group classes working on my individual program with guided supervision. If you want to correct the real cause of chronic pain and weakness then get yourself to this clinic and change the way you move and enjoy life more.

Getting in and out of the car and negotiating stairs were the biggest constant problems. Rush assessed my poor condition and set out a routine of clinical Pilates. As I improved progress was noted and the routine reassessed constantly over the next few months. I no longer have the constant back and leg pain, but I still attend the sessions as I need to keep strengthening the weaker aspects of my ageing body. My mobility now is good and I go up and down stairs without giving it a thought. Rush and Dom have been the main physios I have seen and I would highly recommend all of the physios for their professional and careful treatment.

The doctors tend…read moreto rotate pretty frequently - enough so that I've never really had a regular doctor but a string of random practitioners who I am unlikely to see again. This works out pretty well sometimes as it means I can ask whatever embarrassing medical questions I want with no fear of having to face them again in three months time. On the other hand it's also pretty annoying as it means that you have to catch each doctor up with your medical history each time you go. This practice never seems to be running on time with appointments with very long waiting times even when you booked well in advance. My advice is to book one of the first sessions each morning to avoid this. They have a kids play area in the waiting room and plenty of magazines and books for older people to look at. There's also a small television in the corner to keep you entertained. There's about four or five doctors who work here at any given time so they also accept walk-ins without appointments- however except to wait a really, really long time. On site they have a second building, which is equipped for blood tests, injections and x-rays. The staff in this building are really friendly and very good at dealing with people who are scared of having needles. Despite the waiting around, the service here is generally pretty good and because it's so local to me I really cannot complain.
