A winter's farmer's market, hockey games, bull riding, flea markets just to name a few...but the big event every year is the Olmsted Country Free Fair and it is always a wonderful event to take your family to. You can get up close and personal with different breeds of pigs, cows, sheep, goats, horses...and talk to the people that are involved in raising them....I enjoy this very much. There is always a very competitive talent competition that will entertain and delight you....and let's not forget the corn dogs, lemon-aid and cotton candy.....oh yeah.....

They were out of scrambled eggs both times I went up. The coating on the chicken was moist and unappealing. Nobody liked the potato salad. The 2 dessert selections were store-bought pies, and the cheap kind. We took a couple bites and it just wasn't worth finishing. The only decoration was the bling hanging permanently from the ceiling. The big stage was rough & unattractive & unadorned. The tables were fake wood-grained folding style with no cloths. The dishes were paper, the cutlery and glasses were plastic. There were no flowers on the tables or ANY indications of the special holiday being celebrated: Easter. We might as well have been in a high school gym. The waiters did 3 things: took our beverage orders and delivered them; removed used plates; wrote our checks and took our money. They never came to see if we needed drink refills or ask if everything was ok. It was an insult to disappoint an entire family on a special occasion and not only charge $22 per adult, but charge a 3% surcharge for using a credit card and charge extra for drinks. We actually left hungry! Our family will NOT be returning.

They have so much talent volunteering and…read moreworking here it isn't funny---and the local people that continue to perform are astounding.......I have been to several shows here and am always so impressed----It is good affordable entertainment and I think Rochester is very fortunate to have this available......Everything from the sets, to the lighting, to the costuming, to the presentation is top-notch. It is a lot of fun to mingle with the cast after the show too which is typically supported...AND if you are lucky enough to be there when they are doing a special opening night you may get some wonderful snacks and champagne....If you budget is tight and you want to see all the shows volunteer to be an usher and you can help out AND see the show for free...

We were looking forward to the free underground parking they advertise as it was freezing, icy and snowed everyday during our stay. Unfortunately the underground parking garage was conveniently closed during our entire stay. Perhaps it wouldn't have been as terrible if they snow plowed the parking lot but that didn't happen either. Even though the hotel is right off the freeway, we didn't really hear much traffic, only the street plows. The lobby seamed clean and they do provide a free breakfast as coffee brewed all day. The room as clean. Bed and pillows comfortable. Shower appeared to be recently renovated. Soap & lotion provided as well as shampoo & conditioner. The sink vanity was pretty beat up. I think more from the cleaning staff bumping the wood when they mopped. Plenty of towels but we were only provided with 1 roll of toilet paper so had to ask for more. Full wall mirror and closet. Coffee provided in room but have the powder creamer/sugar. Wall air conditioner/heater ran pretty loud. The walls are fairly thin. We were there at the same time as a cheer team and were awoken in the mornings by loud cheers, screaming, running up and down the halls and jumping around. It was annoying although I know it's the parent's fault, not the hotels. Overall, for the price, we had a decent stay. The hotel was clean and pretty nice. They should fix the underground parking situation as it would be really helpful to have access due to the freezing temperatures as well as the ice & snow in the parking lot.

Located on the Olmsted County Fairgrounds.  The arenas are primarily used for ice skating events for ten months out of the year. They also host a variety of dry floor events depending upon the time of year from: The country fair, Rodeo's, guns/RV shows & much more. The lobby connects all 4 of the arenas and host a concessions, skate shop, vending machines, a few arcade hames & 70" TV with seating area to entertain visitors between events. Compared to most facilities it's not a bad set up. Entrances are located on both the west and east side and decent amount of parking that overflow into the fairgrounds as need depending on the size of the event.
