Fred Astaire Dance Studio is the best studio in Tucson AZ. I am a Ballroom dancer of 5 and a half years, most of which has been spent in Tucson. I have trained across the nation and under multiple coaches and styles during this time. I have expert knowledge of the ballroom dance scene in Tucson and have had no better teachers or studio here. They will instantly make you feel at home and include everyone possible in all studio events. They have the highest quality staff who are all highly knowledgeable and have the only teachers in town capable of teaching competition level and high level students. These teachers use their knowledge to stay in syllabus for beginners or work on open material and technique for more advanced students. Two of their instructors are also responsible for coaching the University of Arizona's Ballroom Dance Team in competitions. They have made every effort and sacrifice to ensure that our team and their students perform to the best of their ability and make sure that they win because they truly are the best and not just slightly better than the other competitors. 5 stars doesn't even do this studio justice. This place is amazing! My wife and I have been dancing for a year or so and had checked out a few different studios in the process but this one more than just takes the cake, they also bake, decorate, and serve it to you on a silver platter. We seriously wish we had tried this place when we first moved to Tucson. The instructors here are professional/competetive dancers with many years of experience. Beyond that they are also fun, friendly, excellent instructors, and you can easily see that they have a real passion for dancing. My Wife and I learned more from them in our 40 minutes of introductory lessons than then we have from our previous studio in 2 months! And not just the instructors, the entire staff at Fred Astaire has treated us with service above and beyond the call of duty. They have treated us with nothing but respect and an openness and honesty far superior to any other studio we have been to in Tucson. It was obvious that we were not just another faceless client to them, they actually cared about US. They have more than earned our utmost respect. Fred Astaire Glenn Heights is an outstanding dance studio. I was languishing in another ball room. I wasn't progressing; nor was I having fun. I was about to quit when I walked into Fred Astaire Glenn Heights. Almost immediately I felt comfortable. I found that Glenn Heights provides a culture of encouragement and hope with a strong sense of family. It cultivates an atmosphere of caring and friendliness and support. Dancing is fun again. As for my teachers, their explanations are clear and concise. Judilyn and Kelsi Marie also provide the two important aspirations, perspiration and inspiration. They have high expectations for their students. They are both patient and highly enthusiastic. They assessed where I was started moving me forward at my pace. They make their lessons interesting and fun. Along with Reyna to, they push their students beyond their comfort zones to stretch and grow . They connect the dots for me. Most important they have prepared me well for level testing which leads to confidence. Best dance teachers I have ever had. I very highly recommend Fred Astaire Glenn Heights. Fred Astaire Dance Studio is the best dance studio in Tucson, AZ. Whether you are a beginner or very advanced dancer, they have fun and experienced instructors who will help you achieve your dancing goals, no matter what they are. As an advanced amateur ballroom dance competitor, it was difficult for me to find a studio/instructor that could make lessons as challenging and exciting for me as the first day I started to dance. I have definitely found all that and more from Fred Astaire Tucson. I love watching the new people learn how to dance and how much fun they have there. No matter your what dance level, the instructors come up with creative choreography for any dance occasion. (Their wedding dances are soo cute!) They also are great for learning social dancing and encourage everyone to come to their Friday night social dance parties. An inviting clean environment with very uplifting staff. Everyone made me feel welcome, even the other students. I went to a group lesson and ended up staying for a second lesson right after, because we all were having such a fun time. I've never danced prior to taking individual lessons with, Reynato. He's super nice, even after I step on his feet. He doesn't make me feel judged for asking questions; He'll patiently explain something multiple times until I understand it. I'm very rigid, but Reynato simplifies movements into small detailed parts so that I can actually piece them together gracefully. Constructive feedback is presented tactfully, and progress feels attainable. The instructors here are ambitious and their enthusiasm is felt in the room, I love it! I came to Fred Astaire for a few intro lessons and ended up staying for about six months because this place is that fantastic. All of the instructors are extremely personable and kind. Every time I walked in if an instructor wasn't working with someone they made sure to come say hello. They are incredibly welcoming and friendly, and or someone who was a bit nervous to get out of my comfort zone and take dance lessons, this was truly enjoyable. I had private lessons with Ms. Kelsey and Ms. Judy who both are exceptionally patient and knowledgeable about their craft. No matter what my ability of understanding of the concepts were, they made sure I fully got it without being coarse at all. I couldn't recommend this place more for anyone looking for dance lessons or simply just broadening their horizons. read more

My wife and I have been taking lessons here for three months (both basically with no prior experience) and have made great progress due to the fantastic instructors and the progressive nature of the syllabus. Olya, Oleksiy, and Benny are not only great dancers in their own right, but are able to explain the dances with patience and humor (LOTS of humor in my case) which has built confidence and made our lessons fun. I purchased the intro package which had two private lessons and one group lesson, and it was so worth it! Our instructor, Andrew, was absolutely amazing. He did a great job adjusting the teaching to how we were learning, walking us through steps with kindness again and again, even when we were messing up on the same step. Each private lesson was 100% Andrew teaching just us and no other couples. The studio is gorgeous and also large enough to accommodate multiple pairs of people dancing. The private lessons are scheduled so that it didn't feel crowded. If you've been looking to try dancing, this is your sign! read more
