After Shane told me he'd give me the refund by June 8th (which I knew he wouldn't), I filed a claim in Berrien County Small Claims Court on 06/10. Based on Google reviews, this isn't the first time he's done this. DO NOT HIRE HIM! UPDATE 07/14/2022: The court ruled in my favor when Shane didn't show up today. He now has a certain period of time to pay me or the case will be added to his record permanently. I will update accordingly. UPDATE 07/28/2022: He has two weeks left to pay me per the court's order, after which I can file a motion to seize property from him. Assuming I'm not paid by then (which I'm sure I won't be), I will file the request immediately.

We were going to have him paint them, but he suggested we get new ones, as they were on sale at Menards at the time, and would be less expensive then to paint. They are beautiful now. Next, he painted our pole barn metal roof. He helped us pick out the right type of paint, got it for us and stuck to the price he quoted, even though he did a lot of prep work that I don't think was figured in the quote. Also put a window in the door and painted it and refurbished the door handle. Then as a little side job, he fixed some siding on the house and also an exhaust fan in our bathroom. But the best thing was he showed up when he said he would and kept us informed every step of the way. Always calling us to keep in touch when he was on his way, or making sure he was coming the next day and what time. We really appreciated that. On top of that, he was just a very friendly nice guy.
