The sweetness of the acai with the tart of the fruit was such a delicious balance. We had it for lunch one day and as an after lunch snack another day. The people don't speak English but that's mostly all over Rio, you can just use google translate or point to what you want. They have bowls as well as different sized cups. It's a really nice place inside, clean too. But you can miss it if you're walking too fast.

I ordered a small bowl and it was a big portion. Toppings are an extra charge, individually priced, and come on the side. I chose bananas, toasted coconut, and honey. The acai bowl is sweet enough on its own, so honey isn't necessary, but the toasted coconut added a great texture. This is a great restaurant. There is plenty of indoor and covered outdoor seating, a colorful atmosphere, and I was attended to quickly.

If time permits I may be back for some of their other sweet bowls, like the cupuacu.

My favorite dish was the Tacaca, an intensely-flavored soup made with tucupi (a sour yellow sauce extracted from manioc), boiled tapioca starch (with a chewy jelly consistency), (very salty) dried shrimp, and jambu (an Amazonian herb that gave a numbing sensation, similar to Sichuan peppercorns). The soup was another super unique dish and was sour, salty, hot, seafoody, and earthy all at once!

I went there with 2 of my other friends, none of us spoke portuguese, but I speak Spanish so I can deff get by. The place was cute and small, it was empty and seemed clean. There were about 4 girls behind the counter, I proceeded to order but the girl taking my order didn't seem to understand, which confused me even more because there was a big menu on the wall AND a smaller menu on the counter with pictures so pointing to what you want is super easy. They even had display cups to compare sizes (which I can always appreciate) At the end, my friends and I all got our açaí cups BUT only 1 order was correct and the other 2 weren't. When I tried to explain to the girl that took my order, she insisted I'm the one that made the mistake, nobody behind that counter seemed apologetic nor like they really cared and that rubbed me the wrong way. My friends and I left so confused as in why they got our picture pointing wrong ... Anyway, they did have a lot of toppings and a good variety of sizes but unfortunately my experience wasn't a good one so I don't think I'm coming back.
