This store is not quite as large and doesn't have the display of the working portion of the bakery behind the window like the flagship store but it's less cramped and has a similar decor. I got a classic mille-fueille pastry and a cappuccino (they top with chocolate and cinnamon if you like). Both were quite delicious. There were only one or two pastries of each kind left, which is good because they don't make more than they can sell for the day, but still had a decent selection. I also got a loaf of Italian bread and will try it tomorrow with my meal. I'm excited they opened this branch out in this neighborhood.

They can understand English but even if they don't they want you to shout your order to them in your best Portuguese. They know what you want even before you open your month. And yes the açaí smooth is delicious. It's less sweet and more nuttier compared to the style they serve in the US. So I like it! I recommend getting the small size so you can leave room to try the other foods. Short walk to the beach so it's to the beach but hustle vibe.

It's a small shop about less than a 10-minute walk from the beach. They have the normal sweetened açaí and açaí gold which is all-natural and unsweetened - there's a huge difference. The owner, Freddy, was actually in the shop when I came in the first time and he made me try both the sweetened and unsweetened açaí (açaí gold) with huge healing spoonfuls. The unsweetened is pricier by at least 10 Brazilian Reais depending on the size. It starts at 300ml which is 10oz up to 1 liter or 33oz. It looks like prices go up by 2 Reais every 6-10 months. The toppings are free. You can get cornflakes, grated coconut, jujube candy, granola, peanut brittle crumble, rice crispies, crushed hazelnut, black sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles, powdered milk, crushed peanuts, chocolate balls, and Brazilian M&M's. They have syrups/ sauces that are also free. It comes in strawberry, chocolate honey tutti fruity, condensed milk, etc. There are premium toppings you have to pay extra for: whey protein powder, Nutella, brownie, strawberry, banana, Twix, Ferrero Rocher, kiwi, Kit Kat, Bis (Brazilian wafer), etc. I opted for açaí golf with whey blended in, topped with granola, strawberry and banana. They whey protein added a bit of sweetness to the unsweetened açaí. The açaí was spilling over the cup. It was very good. Service was friendly. They don't speak English but Freddy does. You can always take a picture of the menu and translate it from your phone and there's also Google Translate. There's Wi-Fi inside the shop. They open at noon on weekdays, 10am on weekends, and close at 10pm.

You have a choice of what kind of açaí to get: Pure without the addition of ingredients With Sugar or Guarana Syrup With Organic Sugar With Coconut Sugar With honey You have a choice of Brazil nuts, roasted cashews, farinha, and granola. I ordered the açaí with coconut sugar and granola. It was so delicious and refreshing and the granola added a nice texture and crunch to it. I also ordered a Guaraná Jesus which is a pink tinted soda that is usually only found in São Luís, Brazil. And I added an Unha de Caranguejo (Fried Flaked Crab Meat) it was excellent. Very chili ambience and the staff was friendly and accommodating even if they didn't speak English they had menus in both English and Portuguese and were helpful regardless of the language barrier. Probably the thing that I want to come back and try is #54 Açaí w/ Fried Puppy (Açaí c/ Filhote Frito). At least according to the English translation menu. They are known for their tacacá soup as well and unfortunately I didn't get to try it, I would recommend a visit here to try real northern Brazilian cuisine. So just be aware that there are 2 restaurants, one is a casual take out counter place and the other (Gourmet) is a sit down restaurant.

The presentation was lovely as it was served in a glass and the acai itself was delicious. Served cold and pretty sweet. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great people! Friendly and quick with the service. TL; DR OVERALL: 5 Stars. Out of all the acai spots I've been to, this was probably the best however it's probably because they specialize in acai. I loved the choices, price and service.
