Love this place…read more I've been coming this park now for about 7 yrs now. It has been without incident or hesitation. Prior to moving in the neighborhood I used to come to use the bike path and enjoy rides around the pond. Now that I live close by I come to run. I absolutely love the scenery. The park is always very clean. The pond appears to be quite murky but I was informed by a parks and receive worker that it is a actually necessary for the species it hosts. By the look of things the animals (ducks, swans, geeese, fish, frogs) are quite happy making it their home. The park has a bike bath and a running path. Since neither has been clearly labeled or designated it's up to park goers to use their discretion. The park has clean benches where you can sit and enjoy the pond scenery, two kiddie parks, a field which I've seen hosts the likes of concerts, soccer games, cricket matches, rallies and family reunions. The park does have brand new bathroom facilities but they seem to close them prior to 4pm which is inconvenient for the average person wanting to use it after work. The entire space is well lit and safety has never been a worry for me as it is also very populated during the hrs I've used it been 4 and 8. While this park is not ideal for cooking out etc, there are about 4 grills that are strategically placed near the picnic tables and is a neighborhood jewel. The perfect getaway at the end of the day or the best way to start your day.

MIXED BAG THIS REVIEW: Baisley Pond Park Extension Bathroom BRUTAL…read moreNYC Parks Department, this was absolutely unacceptable! On August 15, 2026, I attended the Kings of Kings Foundation's family event at Baisley Pond Park Extension. The event itself was wonderful, but the condition of the Parks Department bathroom was SHAMEFUL. The bathroom lights were completely out. You practically needed a flashlight just to see inside! The bathroom smelled strongly of urine and feces, it was not properly cleaned, and two stalls had no toilet paper. What bothered me most was seeing little girls and other children having to use these nasty bathrooms during a family event. Families should not have to choose between using an unsanitary restroom or trying to hold it for hours. Where was the Parks Department employee responsible for maintaining these facilities? I didn't see anyone maintaining or checking that bathroom. No one was in sight. If these bathrooms were opened that morning for public use, someone should have been responsible for making sure the lights worked, stalls were cleaned, toilet paper was stocked, and the facilities remained sanitary throughout the day. Last year's event was NOT like this, which makes this year's conditions even more disappointing. I'm not asking for a luxury restroom. I'm asking for the basics: working lights, toilet paper, cleanliness and regular maintenance. The NYC Parks Department needs to investigate what happened and hold the appropriate staff accountable. If an employee was assigned to maintain these bathrooms and failed to do so, management needs to address it. MIXED BAG THIS VERDICT: BRUTAL Community Event: AMAZING Bathroom Cleanliness: Maintenance: Working Lights: Parks Staff Presence: Our children, families and community deserve clean, safe and functional public facilities. NYC Parks Department--please fix this.

This park has been a favorite of my kids since they were toddlers. It's completely fenced in and…read morethats great because the Conduit runs along side it and the traffic is pretty heavy. A bit noisy and since its neighboring JFK airport there's the added airplane noises. Kids don't seem to mind or care for that matter. During hot months it's a heat buster heaven with the giant frog sprinklers blasting. Most areas are shaded by trees and wind is always blowing here. Lots of benches around and some tables with chairs. Basketball court and handball courts are at one end. Major downside here however is that there's no bathroom. The location serves as more like a backyard playground to many of the homes that are across the street . Still not a good excuse to not have a bathroom. There's no direct parking spots right outside the park either. Its the kind of location that you would probably drive by and then wonder how to get into the park but by that time you've already passed it. So the tip is to drive down Lefferts Blvd a block or 2 and find parking on one of the side streets to the left or right . Then walk back to the park. (Be careful crossing- it's the Conduit after all,but there is a crosswalk) If you're ever flight delayed this is a good park to come with little ones to kill time and burn off some energy. Its a quick walk over from the Long Term Parking area at JFK. You'll see lots of airline workers who live close by walking to work.

The park has a nice shaded area and a decent amount of threes that makes for some real nice scenery. This park is good for after school, or just chilling out on the benches enjoying some music. I go through this park on a regular basis it is about less than a block away from the jfk airport .and the jfk airtrain is right there also .and if you are interested in long term parking it is also there. I will definitely go back there in the future

Our team of five used to be a force to play against, all who had played organized ball, myself the weakest offensive link at the power forward position. (But I could really crash the boards) The rims were so tight here, actual lines painted upon the blacktop, top of the key, etc. I loved hooping it up here and marvelled at the cleanliness, the young families coming out with their little ones, older folks chatting in the mid-day sun. And the chugga chugga turning of the LIRR train wheels.. Very NYC!

There's still other ways to get in that have no gates. But it's a start. Hopefully they can fix this by next year. The playground and swing sets are in good condition. The restroom is fairly clean for a public park restroom. I've seen far worse. I have a few complaints about this park. The honking from the traffic. There should be a no honk sign in this residential section of Austin St. Nearly every car and especially during rush hour, everybody honks at the stop sign intersection. The LIRR is already disturbing enough, add honking from impatient motorist just makes things ten times worse. I also often witness road rage in front of the park. It's a one lane, one way street towards Ascan Ave and whenever one person is parallel parking, everyone behind goes bonkers and often leading to verbal outrage. My second complaint would be the crosswalk, again, because of the traffic and idiotic drivers, there should be more signs to yeild to pedestrians and perhaps a blinking yellow light to alert motorist. My third complaint is the cleanliness of the park. The parks department does a awful job at maintaining the park. The staff often stands around fiddling with their phones while letting their leaf blower idle at low power. The gas fumes from their leaf blower stink and they do it right next to the children. They do the worse job sweeping the leaves and branches and they barely ever pickup any trash unless it is reported to 311. The park inspector that comes to inspect the playground equipment has the laziest job of all. He or she just walks around the park for a few minutes and leaves. Makes zero note of the filth and unattended litter. My last and final complaint are most of the fathers in this park. They're dicks. Super unfriendly and rude. They behave like children with their dickish tough guy attitude. A majority of the mothers, caretakers, babysitters, and grandmothers who bring their children to this park are fine. Pretty much all the females are the nicer ones here. They're very much polite and respectful of other people's belongings and when encountering with other people's children. I can't say the same about the fathers here. They act like everything belongs to them, they never ask or start with a greeting. Verdict - if you live in this section of Forest Hills, this is probably you're nearest public park. The other would probably be Forest Park. This one isn't bad but just be prepared when you come across a father who wants a dick measuring contest. The park itself is great. Plenty of ground for kids to run around, the basketball courts and handball courts are often empty. It's mostly young children, it's not a teenager hangout spot or for punks who smoke pot in the playground among children. It's a safe park and I highly recommend it despite the noise, poor park maintenance from the parks department, and the a-hole fathers.
