I purchased $12,000 worth of appliances for my kitchen with Fred's. I had issues with my oven several times as well as my dishwasher. Multiple service calls and charges to just show up for them to tell me exactly what I told them was wrong. Charges to show up and tell me they need to order a part and I get to pay for a diagnostic. Their service is horrible. I recently used Bud Blocks and they showed up with parts in hand and fixed my issue. Do not use Fred's for service they a horrible. Plus they warranty repairs for 30 days only. read more

I try never to go into this store because the help there is so unprofessional. Well, today I broke my own rule and went in. I was immediately reminded why I hate to go there AND I won't make that mistake again. Went in to buy an upright freezer and NONE of the 4 sales people made an effort to come see if they could help; and they were not on other calls with customers. Plenty of eye contact but nobody cared enough to come make a sale. Shocking honestly; just flat rude. So my wife and I walked out and went to another store to buy a better freezer at a lesser price. Shopped here today and got mom a new washer and dryer set, we were helped by Alan M. He had no idea what was in store- mom is 80 and good natured, but a heckler. She hassled this guy through the entire process, he was a champ. And he really knows his appliances. It's a huge, lovely store with so many options. I would love to walk in and just select one of their beautiful setups- they have entire kitchens, from wood front refrigerators to stainless steel and even some cool whitish ones with copper handles. Prices seem super reasonable, mom's new set is being delivered to Polson on Monday- pretty fast and they'll haul off the old ones and hook up the new. This is the go to place in the Flathead valley for appliances. They carry from top of the line Viking etc. to just your low budget whirlpool. All and any of them are nice. Sales people are friendly and knowledgeable about our needs. We're designing a new house and it was amazing what's available for my dream kitchen. Although we're not at that stage to order and buy we did purchase a Traeger grill that was on sale. Love it that's for sure!! We'll be back!! read more

I contacted them about repairing the ice maker on my 4 year old Kenmore refrigerator. I gave them the model number and described the problem. I was told they could repair it. We waited 2 weeks for the person to come and look at it. We were immediately charged $100 for the call. The problem was identified and we were told the part had to be ordered. More than a month went by with no contact from Fred's. We finally called back to be told that they couldn't get the part and there were no Kenmore repair personnel in our area but we could probably get the part online and get a YouTube video to show us how to fix it ourselves. We worked with Braelin at Fred's Appliance in Kalispell. Just a completely awesome and problem-free experience. She knew every detail about each of the appliances our architect had specified. All of her scheduling was dead-on. She even arranged to hold our appliances at Fred's warehouse to accomodate the builder's schedule changes. A seamless and totally professional experience. We also had an issue on the fridge install. The contractor could not get an even line between the fridge door and the bottom freezer door. We mentioned this to Braelin and she scheduled in Earl, who came out and worked his magic and lined up the doors perfectly (no charge!). We would highly recommend Fred's in Kalispell, in particular Braelin. She is an awesome professional! read more

Update: Fred's was able to send a repair person to fix the broken panel after all. Thank you, Fred's. Overall we're satisfied with the purchase and the outcome. The experience of getting someone to listen and address the problem left a lot to be desired. -- My father-in-law gave my mother-in-law her dream kitchen. They bought a (for us) super expensive GE Profile range. We used it for less than a month before the glass control panel EXPLODED, sending shattered glass shards over 15 feet all over the kitchen. These things happen. Response from Fred's Appliances has been really disappointing. Multiple calls to store management have gone unreturned. Repair guy showed up and admitted there's no way to cook safely on this. Hoping GE or Fred's can make this right before my kid or one of their 20 cousins swallows a piece of glass still shedding off this piece of garbage. read more

We recently purchased three appliances from your Kalispell store. When they were delivered, the ice maker didn't work. We called right away to schedule having someone come look at it to fix it. We were scheduled over 3 weeks out. Today was supposed to be the day the tech came to fix it but he is out sick so we were told we now have another 3 week wait. There needs to be a better way to reschedule your clients without throwing them to the back of the line bc your tech person was unable to keep their appointment. If I could select negative stars, I would. This company is so poorly ran. It's just bad business. This may not be the fault of the Kalispell staff specifically. But the company as a whole. Their repair/service center is run out of Washington State - and this is the section of business I have a problem with. Our dishwasher broke in early October. It took 23 days for someone to come and diagnose it. This trip cost us $100.00, and we were told we would get a call once the part came in and quoted the cost for repair. One-month timeline in this valley is long but standard for most repair services. So all is well so far. One month later, just before I realized that I'd be hosting Thanksgiving dinner for our family without the use of a working dishwasher, we made the call to check in on our part. Again.. I'm still on board with the one-month timeline being reasonable for our area.. but we thought a check-in call would be a good idea. We were told that our technician left no notes on our repair ticket and was no longer with the company - therefore, they declared the job "done." So, no parts got ordered. No calls were made. Our dishwasher was fixed according to the paperwork. This may be an honest mistake. Bad business #1. Suppose your technician was no longer there. It might be a good idea to go through his book of business to ensure people had been taken care of properly. Bad business #2. The notes from our initial call were in the call log for our repair request. The door was tripped over, and body weight came down onto our open dishwasher door. The door hinge was bent and broken, and the sensor and suction were not working. You'd think that with notes like that.. and a ticket comes back blank.. you'd take a second look. Or ask questions? How could a broken and bent door be fixed without any parts.. I do not repair dishwashers for a living.. but I feel like this would raise suspicion to anyone who looked at it. They made us wait another month for a new technician to come out. While making me feel guilty that the new technician will be out $100.00 because they were so generously waiving the fee for a new diagnosis. One month later. Nearly Christmas. The technician comes out to look at the dishwasher. He was here for less than 10min. All he did was ask me what the last guy said. He opened and closed the door a few times. Didn't try to turn the unit on, or test it, or anything. Just assumed what I said the last guy said was correct. I questioned this, and he just said, "Oh yeah, that looks to be right. I can tell by opening the door". Ok... I asked him to call and order the parts needed while standing in the kitchen to be sure we wouldn't have another blank ticket scenario. He did, and then he left. Bringing us to today. Our appointment day. Our part came in two weeks ago, and somehow, we got an appointment in two weeks' time instead of a month. HAPPINESS!... They called us yesterday afternoon to confirm the appointment this morning.. they said they'd call first thing in the morning to give us the appointment window. I took the day off of work.. No call. WE had to call them at 9:30 am to find out what was happening. The guy is a no-show. And there is nothing they can do but reschedule us for another two to three weeks out. Fred's Appliance lacks communication and customer service. Their service department speaks with the attitude that they know they are one of the only options around, so they can just continue to treat customers this way. We, the customer, pretty much have no choice but to use them. Their managers are rude and unreasonable, offering no rectification for their bad business mistakes. As of right now - Fred's has scammed us out of $100.00. I will be disputing the charge until services are rendered. read more

We purchased a washer that was delivered with damage to the panels in February 2022. The delivery driver suggested we take the machine and deal with the service for replacement, discount or repair. After we followed up Fred's offered a $70 damage credit so we elected to have them replace the panel. After waiting until July 2022 a two man repair team determined it was not advisable to repair and said the office would contact us. After we placed 4 phone calls to Fred's seeking resolution, we are now awaiting a $70 credit for the damage. Disappointing resolution, as I'm left with a damaged washer with an original value of over $850. Recommend big box (Lowes or Home Depot) retails, more agreeable to favorable resolutions if issues arise... read more

After spending over $9K at Fred's Appliance on Bosch appliances delivered 12/18/21 I still have a $3K+ stove with an oven that has never worked. Their serviceman was here last week, and it still doesn't work. The next appt to try and fix it, again, is in late March, over 3 months after delivery. Take your business to Lowe's - actually take it anywhere else. And don't buy a Bosch stove, it's junk. read more

On Jan. 27 a service tech came to my house to repair my washer. It would not spin. Which I purchased from Fred's appliances 7 months ago, Brand New!!! I also purchased a 300. 00, 5 year service agreement. So, I was told everything on it needs replaced... The motor etc.. and the tech said he would need 2 weeks to get the parts. So I patiently waited, and its now February 8th, and have heard Nothing from Anyone!!! I called this morning and talked to service in Spokane, who doesn't seem to care about the situation. She stated parts were NOT even ordered..What!!!I So, called Fred's Appliances and left 2 voice-mails for the manager-Dan. Have not heard back. So I called again and spoke to assistant manager in Spokane, told her my situation. And, she stated she would call me back, never heard back from her.. I am so angry and disappointed, that I purchased a new washer, and a service contract, and nobody will HELP ME.. What am I suppose to do??? It sure isn't my fault they sold me a defected washer.. Was very disappointed, I would only buy an appliance from Fred's if it didn't require installation. When I placed my order explained we would need a new microwave and installation, because we are elderly and don't have the expertise or strength to do an installation of a weighty item. The salesman assured me this could all be arranged, so we placed the order and paid for a new above range microwave. Needless to say our new microwave was dropped off at the door and we were on our own. When I called the store was told installation could be arranged at a later date, we'd already waited almost 2 wks. and needed an operating microwave now. Purchased a suite of GE appliances. The freezer door does not seal properly. I've spoken with the sales person who said he'd have people out the next day...no one showed up. After a second call to the store, two delivery people showed up and confirmed the door did not close properly. They said they would let the service department know and get a new gasket ordered. Now two weeks later still no service people so made third call....no record of any service request from either the sales person or the delivery people. My parents purchased an appliance here after I told them about a horrible experience I had previously. Well.....they were coerced into using their rebate to purchase an appliance they didn't need. When I went in with them to find out what was going on, the salesperson completely ignored me (probably finding it easier to sell to my 80+ year old parents). The initial appliance, which cost in the neighborhood of $8000, has never worked correctly, and after a repair man came out, my parents were told that if they wanted it fixed that they needed to call the manufacturer and not bother them about it. This has now been going on for two years. I would never buy anything here and the only reason I step foot in the store again was to try to help my elderly parents (to no avail). DO NOT buy ANYTHING from these people. They do not take any responsibility for their products and they will fleece you the second they can. We are actually considering a court case against them now. When we made the decision to buy from Fred's, we hoped to have a positive experience. Such is not the case and in fact, exactly the complete opposite! We prepaid for a dishwasher and accessories that we supposedly needed. We were told as soon as the appliance came in, they would call and they would then schedule the installation, by the way this was to be a 10 day wait, and having not heard anything from Fred's, we called and were told it HAD been in the store. We were told they would contact the installer and he would call and schedule a time for us. The morning of the installation, the plumber called to say he had gone to Fred's to pick up the dishwasher and they said they didn't have it....wasn't in their store! When we went to Fred's to get our money back, they had no excuse for their huge error and furthermore made no gesture to make the mistake right to make us happy!! Just looked blankly at me and unapologetically said, "sorry". Not only were they unprofessional in customer service but didn't seem to care losing customers, which they absolutely did! Today is January 6, 2022, and just got a call insisting on rescheduling my upcoming January 11th appt due to weather and overbooking! Understand, during the last 6 months of our life we suffered a devastating occurrence; I missed phone calls and earlier scheduled appt with Fred's while in the hospital. I bought $20,000 worth of appliances from Freds. They do not work. I have had 4 separate visits from the service department. One told me my $8000 Thermador refrigerator was built cheaply. He replaced a part but couldnt fix it. The next guy replaced the same part and said that it was working. He left before I could check and its not. I have called the store manager several times--He doesnt return calls. I called the service manager out of Spokane. He took my call the first time, but now he wont return calls. Fred's used to be an excellent source for appliances in the Flathead valley. I have been using them for 15 years. Now all of a sudden, horrible customer service and wait times. I have been waiting over a year for a trash compactor. Was told delays in shipping due to Covid. Finally called again, and told the same compactor was in Missoula and has been all along. I was told 2 weeks to get it to Kalispell from Missoula. It has been nearly a month and nothing!! Better service from Home Depot and Lowes.... read more

We bought all NEW appliances in May 2021. Within 2 weeks our dishwasher stopped working. The soonest we could get a repair person out was September. We told them the problem, after 2 hours in our house thinking it was a different problem, they finally concurred and stated they would order the part. The part is on back order seemingly indefinitely. It has been 5 months now without a dishwasher. They are unwilling to exchange the dishwasher. I visited Fred's shopping for a dishwasher. I entered the store and was never even acknowledged that I was there. It appeared everyone was busy so I strolled around looking at their selection of dishwashers. Still no one even looked in my direction. I spent 15 minutes in the store and never received an acknowledgement that I was there. Even when leaving no one acknowledged my being their. So I watch their advertisement saying how they are attentive to every person who comes into their store! False advertising! Maybe it's just the Kalispell store. It stopped working in February, Although under warranty Fred's appliance still has not repaired or refused to take the dishwasher back or exchange it. Has been nearly four months and still no repair. Don't waste your money or time with this outfit. There excuse is they only have one tech, so what kind of business is this that has one tech for the valley. The answer is a bad one.
