Single visit. Went to look at the apartments on the hillside. Go by there everyday for 10 years but had not seen them. A model is available. I know people who have lived there in their downsizing time of life. They all liked it. Some pet friendly as well. I am finally free to write this review after 5 years of living here. I have given notice that I will not be signing another lease and I will be OUT OF HERE by March 31st of 2018. If you sign a lease here, you have no one to blame, but yourself, because if you are reading this review...you are given true life circumstances. I had to chose this place because it was the only thing available after an unplanned separation and divorce that was in my daughter's school district and would give her some sense of stability. I NEEDED to live in a gated community and I pay what others pay for a gated community, but in the 5 years I have lived here, the gate in this section has worked...MAYBE 2 months. Instead of REPLACING the gate to one that is working, they keep trying to repair it and CONTINUE to put the residents at peril. I have had to call the police because of danger that could have been avoided had the gates been working and could keep out threats of terror. Additionally, I have had to park my car at the club house at the bottom of my hill because they would NOT ALLOW OR WOULD NOT HIRE a company that would plow the roads and make my home accessible to me. I had good tires on the care, but because no one plowed the road, I am left to have to walk to my house...with the exception that a kind neighbor with 4 wheel drive took me home. My best friend's husband won a plowing contract with them one year and they WOULD NOT LET HIM come plow for the resident's because they did not want to pay the extra money. WHAT????? If you don't have to pay 1600-1700 a month, why would you???? I was told when I moved in that they would shovel my sidewalks (NOT ONCE in the 5 years has that happened), they would have grass mowed, security, and roads plowed. I am a nurse. I leave at 5am....my roads should should be plowed. I called and spoke to Audrey today and I was very upset with the response. If you can afford $1600 a month to live here...you are probably a professional and can realize that there is 6+ inches of snow on the ground...I don't need you to inform me of that as I have had to navigate it 2x by the time I called you at 1pm. I have had to make multiple attempts to enter my garage because of so much snow and you have the audacity to tell me your managed to drag yourself to the office at 9:30 in the morning and they were "working on it". How about an "I'm sorry Ms. Jordan, I know you have already PRE-PAID" for this service and we have FAILED TO GIVE YOU THE SERVICE we took your money for. How can I make it better? Instead, I get an "attitude" when I tell her that 1pm is UNACCEPTABLE to not have my area plowed to get to what I need to get to when I have already paid the money to them. Additionally, I told her that I pay more money per month than most people do on their MORTGAGE and I have to have my silverware on the counter because I have called 3x and have waited since before October to get my silverware drawer fixed and she wanted ME to prove I put in the order....WHAT????? Are you kidding me? I do have the order and requests in my email, but again, what kind of people are you hiring that want to act like that when I AM THE PAYING CUSTOMER. I had no choice to take this place, but SEVERAL new apartment complexes have become available since this opened and since I have signed this lease. IF you DO NOT have to live in FREEDOM, I have to say...find somewhere else to live! You will find rent INCREASES every year and less services. We had security when we moved in and they just decided that they would no longer provide it and you didn't get a rent decrease at the time and you received a rent increase at the end of lease. The apartments are old and I have read so many reviews where they keep the security deposit and make people pay outrageous sums to keep the apartments updated at the previous renters costs. I have already been in touch with lawyers and know the rental laws. I have no doubt they will try and do this to me (especially after this review), but I am willing to go to small claims court and I have everything prepared. I want to point out that I found one of the plow drivers at two this afternoon from LandMark services. His name is Trevor and I told him I needed my 17 year old daughter to have access. He immediately went to my home and cleared it. His dedication should be realized and appreciated. Furthermore, I have had to call several times for things to be fixed and they come, but they try to do it as cheaply as possible and this leaves me calling again or just giving up and throwing away, I' m sure in the 100's of dollars of food because they will not replace my fridge and it keeps freezing my . I hope this helps to make it real to Universal Development that you should not treat people this way and that others would not chose to live under such poor circumstances. Though the rent increased frequently, so did the problems. The roof leaked, the air conditioner leaked, there was a terrible unfixed mold problem, the appliances were dated and frankly dangerous to use. Kelly in the office was unhelpful, condescending and rude. She did nothing to help fix the problems, would tell me they were 'liveable' but then on move-out, somehow found an absurd amount of things to charge for in my security deposit. With traffic increasing, the drive to 79 takes at least 25 minutes during commuting hours. There are now plenty of places to live in the area, I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

They take good care of the grounds. However, they increase your rent every year. Staff is really not very helpful.

Living at Freedom Crossing was a great experience. The apartment was perfect for our family. Maintenance was very timely in their response to any issues that we had. The management at Freedom Crossing was wonderful. Kelly and her staff consistently went out of their way to make sure that we were satisfied. Would certainly recommend Freedom Crossing to anyone looking for a place to live in the Pittsburgh area. read more

I moved here in March 2016 and LOVE it! I looked all over the Cranberry area and the rent here is very much in line with other places. The deciding factors for me were one story living, no one over or under me, a garage, and a staff that made me feel so very welcome. My apartment was completely refurbished before I moved in....new appliances, new carpet, and new paint. It is beautiful! The parking area is well lit and I love having that garage. I will love it even more this winter I am sure. I never hear my neighbors and rarely hear traffic noise. At night is it so quiet that I sleep better than I have anywhere else I have lived in the last 12 years. I had a maintenance issue (line from the hot water tank spewing water) at 6:00 am one morning. I called the 24 hour number and someone was here in 15 minutes. My hot water line was fixed 30 minutes later. I highly recommend Freedom Crossing! read more
