We had very limited time we all liked the place. My husband gave the Realter a check to cover the 1 1/2 month deposit and 1st month rent. She claimed that she was will let the landlord know and was waiting on an answer. we called everyday on an update and were told the same thing. that she called or e-mailed and was still waiting on an answer. we always told her we had limited time. 3 weeks later after we gave a good faith check we felt we were getting the runaround. we were never told that the person didn't want to rent to us but should have been told so we can look for something else. Very Very unprofessional to a family with kids who needed to move quickly.

They called me before 9am (illegal for any unsolicited business in the state of California, which my cell phone clearly indicates, FTC and FCC complaints have been filed) asking if I wanted to sell my mother's home where I haven't lived in over 20 years. I did the search that would be needed to find this information and suffice to say, it might be legal but it's certainly not ethical or moral. I'll be contacting the corporate offices of Re/Max next and the NJ State Real Estate Licensing Commission next. If this is what they do to find potential clients, image the BS they would pull when trying to sell you a house. Beware. That price would have been more that we received from 613 Home Buyers, but when we looked at the costs for commissions, other expenses, the hassle of negotiation and more expenses, they were right in the ballpark and we didn't have to go through that whole process - including emptying and cleaning the house. We just left everything there! Charlie was great. Always above board and honest. We didn't need to have an attorney for the transaction, but Charlie accommodated and worked well with him through the process. We had a check within 4 weeks.
