BYERS BEWARE!!! WERE WE EVER WRONG…read more We put an offer of $22,000 on a 2013 Visa Golf Stream at 1000 Islands RV listed for $23,995 and it was accepted. We noted possible signs of leakage and rot in the ceiling upon first inspection however, but were assured by our Sales Rep that this would be completely inspected by their Service Dept prior to taking possession and repaired if there was any leakage and/or rot. We returned after the repairs claimed to have been done and noted that the "rot" was not repaired. I questioned our Sales Rep and she claimed that the "Service Dept as well as the Manager" both looked at it and could not find any rot, claiming that the ceiling was "Rock Solid". So, I showed her where I could actually push my finger into the soft plywood in several locations. She then claimed that this was normal. For a second, I thought my partner had painted a bid "L" for Looser on my forehead while I was sleeping? I then showed the Sales Rep the rest of the ceiling which was actually "Rock Solid". She didn't know what to say, other than repeating that "the Service Dept and Manager stated there was no rot." As a result, we decided NOT to accept this unit because our Sales Rep, the Service Department as well as the Manager were all blatantly lying to our faces, hoping that we were stupid enough to believe them and simply accept this rotten trailer as is. The thing is, had they been "honest" with us from the beginning and pointed out the rot, we would have accepted the unit as-is, but what else were they now hiding from us and lying about? They could no longer be trusted. After walking away from the deal, our Sales Rep contacted us again stating that the Manager was now willing to take off another $3000 from our initial offer of $22,000. Now... You have to ask yourself: Why would they do that if, as they claim, there was no Rot in the ceiling? BUSTED!!! Needless to say, we declined their offer. The sad thing is, they have since relisted this unit at $23,995 again knowing full well there is rot in the ceiling, hoping to catch another unsuspecting fly in their web of deception. 1000 RV Staff and Management are as "Dirty as they come". I don't understand some of these dealerships. They don't seem to realize the concept of "Honesty". It's just beyond them. You screw one potential customer to make one sale, but loose 10 others in the process when they find out they've been swindled and tell all their friends. Or... You can be honest with that one customer and make 10 other potential customers in the process. It's just simple math and common sense. It blows me away that they can blatantly lie to your face even after you actually point-out proof of the defects. Unbelievable! Just Unbelievable! We also returned over $500 of extras, not because we didn't need them for our new trailer, but because they were all priced $5. To $20 more than other stores. We bought a camper here in 2019. They also talked us in to an extended warranty (my mistake - I fell for it). It was a nice little camper, but we barely used it (3 or 4 times a year at most) so we decided to sell it this year. I thought I would bring it in to Leisure Days Smiths Falls for a once over to make sure everything was working before putting it up for sale. We dropped it off the Wednesday before a long weekend and requested the basic maintenance package. They asked if we needed the camper back right away and I said no, we weren't using it the long weekend so the following week would be fine. Two weeks later, after I reached out to the service department several times, they told me I could come pick it up. Great! So I called ahead to pay over the phone so my husband could just pick it up on his way home. It was more expensive than originally quoted because they had to fix a few things. Fair enough. I asked them to itemize it, and then I asked why - if extra work needed to be done - no one called me to let me know. Or why they didn't at least mention it when they said the camper was ready to be picked up. Crickets on the other end of the phone. Then, after some back and forth, I said, ok, I would pay over the phone and my husband would come pick it up. Then they said, oh tell your husband to come see me, there is something with the axle or a spring in the wheel bearings I need to show him. What is the issue, I asked? Is it the axle or the wheel bearing? The answer was, oh I don't know exactly. I said, excuse me?? There is an issue you want to show my husband but can't tell me what it is? I was baffled. The I asked if it would be covered by the extended warranty. They said they would check. A few more days go by. I called and was told they were looking into it and would let me know as soon as they heard anything. Finally, my husband stopped by and they said oh yeah, it won't be covered by the warranty (again, they had an answer but didn't think to call and tell us). So we will be taking the camper to a proper shop to see what the actual problem is and to get the work done by competent mechanics. Now, my issue isn't with the warranty coverage (although, frankly, I wouldn't buy another one), it's with Leisure Days Smiths Falls and, in particular, the service department. They displayed a baffling lack of knowledge, some of the worst communication I have ever seen from a business, and terrible customer service. Overall, a completely awful experience. On a hilarious side note: as I was typing this review, Leisure Days Smiths Falls just called me to ask me if I knew they had a sale on and if I wanted to buy another camper. I said no thanks. I would never be buying anything from Leisure Days Smiths Falls again.

When I called to address the issues I was met with hostility from the salesperson (Pete) I bought the trailer from and the finance guy (Dan) also got hostile with me on the phone. If it wasn't for the service department I likely wouldn't have made the purchase. This is a small town and this has been the worse customer experience I've had dealing with any company. When I arrived, he came out with his multimeter and went through his diagnostic steps. When all that passed, he tried something I was unaware of - pressing and holding the on/off button for 5-10 seconds. Problem solved. No charge. Highly recommend for customer service, integrity, professionalism.

BGM RV Centre Inc…read more June, 2020 This business is deserving of a 5 star review. My wife and I own a rather new park model. As with any RV, you will, from time to time, run into various issues. In our case, our "black" tank handle, was seized. This is not anything faulty with the RV as this can happen with any rig. Of course, I could have "played with it" tried to repair it myself but, I have always used professional help for any servicing of our various RVs over time. In this case, we placed a call to BGM on Monday, June 8, 2020. They are located in Chesterville, Ontario. Our park model is in a park located near Embrun. A service technician attended to the repairs on June 10, 2020. We were not at the RV when the repairs were done. The work done was impeccable, the service technician attended on the scheduled date and the repairs were properly done. We are truly happy with the repair but, more importantly, with the efficient service offered by this company. Told me I was rude. Communication skills were not good, never called to let us know the camper was ready, left it parked in a field unlocked. Every time I called them they never returned my calls. In about an hour he had the problem diagnosed and was making repairs. He is a down to earth repairman who didn't try to over sell or confuse his customer but rather focused on the problem and had it repaired in a timely manner. Technicians of his caliber and honesty are rare and hard to find but he definitely is knowledgeable and honest when it comes to repairing trailers.
