Since I've gotten older, (aka, legal age of drinking), I've dabbled here and there with different wines and whatnot. This visit to my family's gave me the opportunity to try and test different varieties and regions. This brings us to Hyvee Wines. As an add-on store across the "highway" from the real Hyvee, this store is freaking awesome. The wines are categorized by region, while other parts are categorized by types. Although this makes things slightly more difficult, it allowed me to actually browse through types of wines I'm not so familiar with. There was even an entire column dedicated to South Dakota wines! Although as tempting as it sounded, I think I'll stick with French and Italian wines for now. The gist of what I'm getting at is that, for being a typical wine shop in South Dakota, they could boast more than 5x the amount of wines I would be able to find in my typical wine shop in NYC.

The tables and floor remain clean, the staff is excellent and friendly, and there is a light air throughout the lobby. Despite all of this, I am ashamed to admit that my cone was not to perfection as I requested. I ordered a medium chocolate cone. The taste was brilliant, but the look of the cone was simply disappointing. The swirl was quite elegant, but one of the main features of a good cone was... Lacking. The cone, instead of standing straight up, tilted at a 5° angle compared to the waffle cone. Simply unacceptable. A cone must stand proud, not slump down like a defeated warrior. For this reason, I give 212 Dairy Queen a five out of five, but if they don't fix this glaring problem, I cannot give them my 'perfect score' merit.
