Ill start with the morning I arrived at Freedomhouse for the first time. I was greeted by a woman who was very nice who handed me a pamphlet and a card that prompted me multiple ways to give. Not only that but to write my credit card # on the card which is crazy in my opinion. You say you want your church to feel like a safe place but having my credit card # on a piece of paper is wild to me, no matter how much you trust your employees. These types of handouts SHOULD NOT be given to newcomers! Have them pick one up if they want to and not forced to have one. Now the service. The worship team was great and I truly felt the love of Jesus in the room as they sang songs. However, things quickly took a turn when the pastor came out and preached his message. I felt like 90% of the service was about giving and 10% was about the actual Word. He started by explaining the new construction area and what it would look like and how it would work. He proceeded to show a 6-8 minute video of him just rambling on screen about what their plans were, I honestly was so bored and tuned out immediately. The actual message was great and it was something I needed to hear, but the problem was it felt rushed and like a second thought because of how much the pastor was talking about giving and tithes. In my honest opinion, this entire "Big Give Sunday" service that I stumbled upon as a newcomer should not be a Sunday service and if the church wants to raise money for their upcoming projects then make this "movement" a fundraiser seperate from Sunday service. I will not be coming back. read more

They are super loud, mostly everything is done outdoors and they think that they can just take over the neighborhood like the OC Fair! The pastors do nothing about it and they don't care because they've been doing this for 8 to 10 years! They blast music and not to mention they are on megaphones! TRANSPARENCY is a must...so I'll just open with a Testimony...I remember when I first found Jesus Christ and the first friend I made through the Holy Spirit was a friend named Dominic! He was asking for money outside of the Walmart cross streets Barranca and Von Karman...It was for "trade school" but I befriended this gentleman through the Holy Spirit and on the car ride home I learned he used that money to pay for a hotel that his wife and newborn child stayed in also...I had such supernatural love for my Brother and his family and I know God used him to show me money isn't everything...God used me to help him get back home in the course of like a year and a half...The spiritual growth I experienced by unconditionally loving this Man for God has shown me that God is the provider and He wants us to mirror Christ whenever we get over ourselves! When you walk in the place is pitch dark. Black walls, black stage. I don't associate God with darkness but with light, so this seems like a very imitate-the-world choice. I don't expect pews and stained glass windows, but it's so dark you cannot see the people. I thought church was supposed to be about the people? Not about creating a club atmosphere. But the most offensive part of the service is how LOUD the music is. I have a decibel meter app on my phone and the music is 15 minutes at between 80 and 90 decibels. Exposure to this much LOUD MUSIC over three or four Sundays will cause permanent hearing damage. As for the teaching, the service I attended was the pastor winging it - spewing out one Bible verse after another. It was like he was just free-styling and there was no thesis to his teaching that day. He was, of course, eager to share that he's gong to get an even bigger stage soon - the new church in Anaheim. You are building him a new church. I wonder if it will also be a black pit that makes people deaf? Maybe we don't need our hearing in heaven, but we do still need it here. All this pastor wants us money. Spends too much time on how we should be giving of our finances. He had the nerve to tell the congregation that we should dip into our 401ks if we really love God! He hypes up the people as if it's a sports event, then once he gets everyone emotionally motivated he kicks in the money speech. Please review others comments on the finances . I have been to a few services and the most of the time was talked about money and the new Walmart building. Definitely a business model and I would question the stream line of finances. My family member goes to church for healing and is in a vulnerable state and the church has them feel obligated to dip into their finances from disability. The sermon from Josiah says it all. Who asks for kids to offer with their piggy banks? You don't have anymore money in your bank account? No worries, you can give them cryptocurrency , stocks, etc. There are pastors that can speak with charm. Don't be fooled. Sales people are the sweetest talkers, but not always an walker. Overall this is a Good Church! Love worship!!! Love the prayer partners! And how their theme is for reaching young adults, young people since they are the future of the church! During worship they have flashing lights, I love it but I know some are sensitive to that. So be aware of that before attending. Overall Most are friendly BUT A lot of the people here have a lot of improving to do in the girls Restroom girls look at me up and down , roll their eyes at me and laugh at me. Their is a group of volunteers who are nice! The director of kids is so friendly maybe she should give classes to most of the volunteers on how to be nice to others. The teachers are super friendly I don't like how one teacher in the 5th grade class talks to the other volunteers she's an older lady with white hair. The young adult pastor, pastor Tom is NOT NICE! He is very rude, he ignores people when they talk to him I understand no one is perfect and we all have our flaws but this guy idk he's rude rude!! And if you do ask him something he goes ughh! I've been coming to freedomhouse since 2013. In fact, I left a yelp review after a couple visits. I had a positive experience and remember how I was going through some pretty serious life issues. In short, I was at a low in my life. Today, more than 4 years later, I'm grateful and happy to say this place has helped me and my family so much. We have grown closer to each other and in our faith. What astounds me the most that this church is only 7 years old and has been operating as a "mobile" church since then. The challenges of that alone has not stopped the manner in which freedomhouse engages church goers and it's Community that surrounds it. One of the most useful ways you can get to know more about freedomhouse is by going to "starting pointe" .. that's where I was able to get a good picture of where freedomhouse came from, how it started and where it's going. Where to start... I'll make a pros & cons list for clarity. Pros: - Kid leading worship has a beautiful voice. You are a star kiddo! - I think this kind of church might work for young adults like teens and early 20's. - Pastor has some jokes. General Observation: - If social media was a church this would be it! Lol you walk in volunteers look like they are ready to hit the club!Which to each their own, y'all look beautiful, just weird to see that in church ya know? Their announcements are done to some sort of like EDM music?! lol which is soo weird but y'all do whatever works for y'all! Also the videographers & photographer are a bit excessive in my opinion. The way they angle the church to be portrayed to be so much bigger on camera weeeiirrd... but people will do that on social media, so I guess it's fitting?? - Doesn't really look like a family type of church mostly looks like it's for young adults. Cons: - Yes the pastor absolutely stresses the point of giving money to an annoying extreme! I go to my friends churches quite often, most of the time pastors will emphasize that if it is not a church you call home & are just visiting for the first time there is no need to give. This guy on the other hand... well he is VERY eager to ask for your money. Which would be fine, if it looked like the church was there to serve, but man is this the most ostentatious pastor/wife duo I have ever seen. Point being wouldn't doubt that money is lining Pastor Josiah's skinny jeans. Lol they're really tight bro, but YOU DO YOU BOO! - Pastor yells A LOT! & like for no good reason. The people who go to this church are incredibly inconsiderate to the neighborhood around it. People drive like idiots, and the events constantly create high volumes of traffic that inconvenience us. I wish this church did more to give back the community and respected our neighborhood more. I've lived on Williamson for 21 years and honestly miss when this place was a Goodwill-- I wouldn't have a problem with this place if they advised their attendees to respect the people who live here. I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for this church. I've had the privilege of being apart of the in's and out's of Freedomhouse for over 5 years and I've also had the honor of assisting the church with being mobile, and impacting the cities of Brea, La Habra and Fullerton (there are several more cities to cite here); FH never leaves an opportunity to take the time to reach one soul to hear the true Gospel. Before I got saved, I was addict, a drug dealer, gang affiliate, a convicted felon, a thief, internally created financial ruin for my future life, was suicidal for years, and was on the verge of taking my life again. After I got saved and received Jesus in my heart, I jumped in serving several ministries, became an intern, became a Connect Group host, became a Bible college student, part of my record got expunged, became a leader in a ministry and met my wife in that ministry, was married by Pastor Josiah, and found my calling in ministry. I found my purpose as one of God's children and I would not be breathing if it wasn't for Freedomhouse. Do not pay any attention to any negative reports. They are not only slanderous but present false information to bear opposition to God's will. Read Acts 5:38-39 NLT : "So my advice is, leave these men alone. Let them go. If they are planning and doing these things merely on their own, it will soon be overthrown. But if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God!" If my life could turn a 180° by sheer obedience and submission to God placement of the leaders in my life, I know He can do the same, if not more for you. Freedom House has been an unexpected but amazing blessing in mine & my son's life!! When God spoke "go to that church you saw on instagram" I never imagined His plan would be so perfectly timed for our lives.
