Professional but Firm Review…read more I strongly recommend that you reconsider using Fairfax Law for your bankruptcy case. My experience has been extremely frustrating, particularly when it comes to communication and knowing the status of my case. For weeks, I have repeatedly attempted to contact both my case manager and attorney. I am often redirected or told that my case manager will contact me, but that follow-up has not happened. At the same time, I continue to receive requests for payments, while receiving very little communication about the actual progress or status of my bankruptcy case. When you are already dealing with the stress of getting your finances back in order, the last thing you need is to feel uninformed and unable to reach the professionals handling such an important legal matter. In my experience, communication became significantly worse after the first couple of months of the bankruptcy process. What should have been a process that provided some relief has instead created additional stress, uncertainty, and frustration. My biggest concern is that I should not have to constantly chase my bankruptcy firm for basic information about my own case. Clients deserve consistent communication, transparency, and reassurance that their case is being properly handled. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Fairfax Law for someone considering bankruptcy. Bankruptcy is already difficult enough without feeling like you are left in the dark about your financial and legal situation. For me, this experience has felt like the opposite of the relief and guidance I expected when hiring a bankruptcy firm.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about all of these attorneys. They have guided me literally through life. Helping me with a divorce, advocating for my children's special education needs and, writing a trust! I am a life time client of theirs and am proud to say so! They go above and beyond, know the law and can assist with any legal situation. I highly reccommend them for ANY legal matter!

Brent was spot on in his assessment of my situation, and worked hard to keep the entire process on track and within budget. Mary, the legal assistant at the firm was always helpful and made sure all the documentation was completed correctly and kept me in the loop throughout the process. In court, Brent informed me what to expect and ensured that I was aware of all the legal issues before meeting the judge. In short, the entire team at Nichols and Ebert, especially Brent and Mary were outstanding to work with and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. They put in a 6-star effort (which I would give them if it were available). They were honest, charged me what they quoted, and made the entire process seamless. Divorces are a nasty business, so glad I had the folks at this Nichols & Ebert on my team!

There was no contract - I paid with cash. The case ended up requiring a follow-up court date - since there was no contract, he charged me the same fee as the first time. He didn't obtain any of the police records. He didn't perform any background searches on my opponent. My opponent's attorney arrived prepared with these documents. When I asked him why he hadn't done any of this - he told me that he was trying to help me save money. He told me I would need to provide any such documents to him. I had to pay to have these things done on my own time and bring the documents to him for our follow-up court date. I overheard my opponent and her attorney discussing their previous meetings and expected questions. He never prepared me for any line of questioning (him or opposing counsel). Afterwards, I asked him if we could meet before the second court date and he replied 'Sure. Call my office and schedule the appointment.' I'm happy that I won - but I am unhappy with the service I received. Additionally, I regret that I went into this without a contract. Once a follow-up date was deemed necessary, I felt very vulnerable regarding what he would charge me and I was afraid to consider another attorney for the follow-up. I learned a tough lesson. Ultimately, I am happy that it was a victory - but if I should ever need an attorney again - I would look elsewhere.
