they make sure you have to send several emails and or calls before you get one response you can guess what happens from there. after having 3 other attorneys take a look it turns out all 3 said they charged over double of what they all would've charged. Communication would be a negative number if I could. Steer Clear. I recommend anyone using to register at NDC.org and review all your charges $10,600 for a pretty standard chapter 13. 100% payback with 7% Interest. This office dropped the ball/failed to inform a client the actions needed to be taken, you cannot run a law office on the assumptions that your client's know what to do. If that were the case why would i hire you? Learn to show empathy & accountability. I began working with Frego and associates in September of 2020, everything was fine until today when I learned that they had not been looking out for me like I thought, my case was supposed to have been refiled in June of 2021 and had been discussed with multiple team members as they were the ones who made the plan because I didn't even know you could refile a bankruptcy after filing initially. Hence the reason a lawyer had been hired because I didn't know what I was doing. we had made a plan to refile my case in June 2021 because I could not have a discharge date filing in October of 2020. During the pandemic documents were signed so that they could make all the decisions for me and sign documents on my behalf, as an inexperienced client hiring a lawyer at the very least I would have expected some sort of communication letting me know that I needed to take action to refile the bankruptcy in June that would have a discharge date. so I'm not sitting in $18,000 in debt at the end of this bankruptcy, as far as I knew they did everything they needed to do in June and I was fine making payments and thought at the end of my 5-year period that I'm a year and a half into I will be debt free. Fast forward to February 21st 2022 I had a meeting to discuss taxes and a recent bonus with Jay who is the partner at Frego & associates in Dearborn. During the discussion I learned that it was my responsibility to contact them in June to initiate the refiling of a new chapter 13 bankruptcy and that the bankruptcy was never refiled and I was paying almost $8,000 in fees to pay off $8,000 in taxes that I had added to the case in December of 2020 after the initial filing of all of my unsecured debts. Not a single penny has went towards any of my debts only taxes owed that were added in December of 2020 and had I been advised correctly things would have been handled a lot differently I would have made a payment arrangement with the IRS and had the bankruptcy handle my unsecured debts that I had originally filed for. Or better yet I would have contacted them in June to initiate a refiling. I advised him that every employee that I spoke to advised me that if we ever need anything we will contact you I had no clue I needed to contact them in June 2021 to initiate a new case and they couldn't even do so much is give me a courtesy text message email phone call to say hey we initially plan to refile your case so you could have a discharge date and wouldn't be left with $18,000 hanging over after paying for 5 years. If I had not learned that during today's discussion that it was actually my responsibility to contact them in June 2021 I would have been sitting here at the end of 5 years of making payments and been told that I had to file an entirely new bankruptcy for the debts that they did not include, and today I was made to feel like it was my fault, why am I paying 7 grand(picture attached) for you to pay 8 grand in taxes over 5 years to leave me with 18k in creditors that I have to file again for? Had I been advised correctly I would have excluded the tax debt's & made sure that my unsecured debts were paid for because that is why I filed from the beginning. I had multiple appointments in between December of 2020 and June of 2021 I reviewed every document and spoke to Andrea multiple times along with a few other associates to answer my questions. I specifically panicked when I received the trustees report of receipts and disbursements because I realized that no money was going towards any of my debts and that only the taxes were being paid well this was in early 2021, the only things being paid were the internal revenue service state of Michigan and Frego & associates. I was reassured many times not to worry that if anything was ever needed they would contact me, that office was going to let me sit in this 5-year plan and end up paying them 8 Grand to pay eight grand in taxes and have $18,000 left over at the end of an undischargeable chapter 13 bankruptcy all just to have to file another chapter 7 or 13, all of this when we had made a plan initially to refile in June of 21 so I could have a discharge date, and I've spoken with three higher-ups today and all they can do is tell me they will waive the 100 fee and that it was my responsibility to contact them in June to make sure the bankruptcy was refiled. But no one ever told me that. Jay told me he was going to research my concerns with his partner and call back and he had a very rude woman who didn't even care to really hear what I was telling her call me back. Every action I've made with this bankruptcy has been based on reassurance from employees and if action is needed from a client you need to let them know that. read more

One of their attorneys made a mistake on my case and set me up for 2 bankruptcy payments per month for my chapter 13 case when he should have set me up for 1 monthly payment. They charged me for several office appointments and phone calls and amendments to fix his mistake. I had to wait 4 additional months to get my case approved by the judge because of his mistake which is also additional payments I had to make that were made in good faith and don't actually count towards my 5 year bankruptcy. This attorney's mistake also caused a $2000.00 arrearage on my case which still has not been credited which means I have more additional fees to pay for his mistake. It's been 10 months and thousand of dollars in fees charged to me for their mistake and the arrearage still hasn't been credited. I claimed bankruptcy because I am struggling financially and their mistake caused alot more debt for me. I asked to speak to Mr. Frego and they don't let you talk to him. They also don't return your phone calls. read more

This law firm failed on three occasions to contact me. First time was not getting a call to remind me of my confirmation hearing. I was later told it was a courtesy. I went there no problem. The next court date I was not called. I drove to Detroit, paid for parking sat in the court and waited an hour and a half. I was finally told I did not need to be there because the date was changed to a later date. I called the office after and was told someone would call me back. two and a half hours later I called back and was told that any request to talk to a lawyer takes 24 hours. I talked to the office manager and she said someone was to call me and let me know an attorney would call me in the morning, they did not call me with that info. The next day I was called at noon. I was then told that I never even needed to go to that hearing in the first place. I am out parking fees, gas and three hours wages for something I never needed to attend. They said they will not compensate me for their blunders. Also asked to talk to MR. Frego, they will not let me. This place is the worst. I would stay away from them. read more
