Rarely available when needed, emails and phone calls often left unattended for days, anger from staff if pushed to answer concerns, switched from case worker to case worker with little information to new case worker, use of money not detailed, placement in independent living community that is American Hell House for anyone under 80 with no major physical or mental disabilities, if one does or says anything one's actions are retaliated by this firm via hospitalization for "assessments" even though hospitalizations are considered by nurses and doctors as "completely unnecessary...normal reaction to loss of cat" in facility said to be pet friendly (mine died within 3 days). Left to sleep on floor for first month, got mattress 2nd and boxspring 3rd month even though in need of surgery on left shoulder - surgery was cancelled by them without telling me. No health insurance due to their incompetence, constant and differing excuses for not getting Medicare for me (I will be 67 in 5 months) thus everything medically necessary is being billed at highest cost which will soon put me into bankruptcy. Also lost my car due to lack of help with totally unnecessary bill for tires - son says he and they didn't want me to have a car anyway even though I had no difficulties in driving to usual places, got COVID and screamed at by residents with no staff available to deal with the situation, accidental head injury forced call to 911 as my cable bill had gone unpaid for months and was cut off leaving me with no way to get help (huge bill will include MRI and x-rays, ambulance there and ride back) while independent living is NOT independent, especially with no car. I've become a prisoner of these people, and the subpar senior living Hell House they placed me in, with absolutely no rights thus requiring the help of an attorney to get my life back. If all of this doesn't scare you and you really do not wish the best for yourself or really dislike a loved one, I would highly recommend this firm as retaliation expertise and incompetence should be listed in every form of advertising they use.

After the initial placement, Mannor law firm then helped us to navigate the many different branches of government so that my parents would receive the maximum help available to them. Mannor Law then had Eric, another specialist who works with them, help us apply to the V.A. for retirement benefits for my father. Initially my father was turned down but Eric (like the rest of the members of Mannor Law) just doesn't give up and after a lot of his work, my father did receive the benefits. However, my experience as the executor of my mother's estate has been deeply frustrating and, at times, disheartening. Following my mother's passing, I never had the opportunity to meet with an attorney to review or discuss the estate. Instead, all of my communication was handled through a legal assistant. While she was kind and personable, I was repeatedly given information that was inaccurate regarding the legal requirements for closing the estate. On multiple occasions, I was told that certain documents were required to be prepared by an attorney in the state of Michigan. This was simply not true. The documents in question can, in fact, be completed by an individual and properly notarized without legal representation. The first document I requested was a Certificate of Trust. I was advised that this document must be completed by an attorney and that most title companies require it. Knowing this was incorrect, I still chose to proceed with the firm preparing the document for the sake of efficiency. While I do not regret that decision, I do find it troubling that such misrepresentations are made--especially to individuals who may be navigating grief and unfamiliar legal processes at a vulnerable time. A second document was also prepared under the same premise--that it required an attorney's involvement. Again, this was inaccurate. This document is publicly accessible and can be completed without legal assistance. When I was unable to locate it on my own, my bank was able to guide me through the process without difficulty. This further underscored the unnecessary nature of the service I was led to believe I needed. I find this pattern of misrepresentation not only unprofessional, but deeply disappointing given the circumstances under which many clients seek estate services. Families deserve transparency, honesty, and guidance they can trust. A fair resolution, in my view, would be a refund for the second document. Unfortunately, my attempts to address this directly have gone unanswered, as I have not received return calls from the legal assistant. In closing, I strongly encourage anyone serving as an executor to thoroughly research their responsibilities and options. It is important to understand that not all documents require legal preparation, and informed decisions can help avoid unnecessary expenses during an already difficult time. It is truly unfortunate to feel this level of doubt when seeking professional legal guidance.
