Although they concentrate more on womenswear, they have a growing menswear side, too. Interestingly, they have been growing steadily since their first store - in Taunton of all places - back in 1969. Now they have stores in France, Belgium and further afield, such as Dubai. This store is situated in the western side of the huge Westfield development (entered via first floor) and is spread over two levels. Their menswear reminded me a little of Topshop: aimed very much at the under 30s (so not me) but with the odd accessory someone older might consider. The sizing especially seems to be aimed at skinny younger types - lots of waist sizes at 32 inches and under! I notices they have a maternity line for women which is interesting - the target market seems a little broader for women than men. That said, the layout in this brand new store was easy to navigate and the staff were helpful without being pushy, which is a nice change. How it fares in the current economic climate will be interesting to see.

They have some great prints and the fabrics that have quite a hand-made/craft style to them. I think they're run by the same people who sell Yumi clothes which in my opinion have a more modern look and more well-made style to them. Uttam seems to me to be the poor relation of Yumi but even so there are some nice things in here.

There was a really funky black lacy dress in the window, which I was sure would have an expensive price tag, but it turned out to be about £40. Unfortunately, they didn't have it in my size, but I'll be back to try on some more of their stuff when I have time. However this shop is not expensive at all with the most expensive item being about £40 and most things were actually between £10 and £25. This includes trousers, blouses, tops, skirts and jackets. I personally got some nice items for work, a floaty embrodered black and white skirt (£15) and a chiffon blouse with a fixed tank top over the top (£15). If you are looking to get some slightly different pieces for work or even causal stuff for spring you might be pleasantly surprised at this shop. The quality is not absolutely superb but the same if not better than some other high street retailers. Lets face it, we dont want to spend too much on a)work clothes and b) fashion that changes every month.

The retail sales manager of Diverso, Lucas Brownless, has never even heard of Emma Willis, Budd's, New & Lingwood, Hilditch & Key, Turnbull & Asser, Dege & Skinner, Huntsman, Hardy Amies, Richard Anderson, Richard James, Kilgour, Ede & Ravenscroft, and all other upscale shirtmakers and tailors. As far as I'm concered, Diverso, are not true shirtmakers, they just design their shirts in the UK and get them crafted in Italy nothing else. Anyone could do that, it's like they're like Emma Willis or Turnbull & Asser. I've been in this shop twice now, but I cannot see myself buying their shirts. But personally, I'd rather buy from Emma Willis in 66 Jermyn Street.
