We are from California and decided to get married here, at the French Quarter Wedding Chapel. We booked our wedding about 2 months in advance and got married 7/25/2025. We chose the standard wedding package and added a few extras: the bridal bouquet, groom's boutonniere, flower girl basket, and an upgraded photography package. Reverend Cassandra Watson brought so much warmth and joy to our ceremony. She made me feel so comfortable and happy. Teresa Newman, our photographer, captured some absolutely stunning photos of us. We also had a violinist playing sweet music and a greeter who made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Since we were flying back to California a few days after the wedding, we took our marriage license to the Jefferson Parish General Government Center right after the ceremony to have it recorded immediately. It was a quick and easy process. I am so truly grateful for the experience and the hospitality of the entire French Quarter Wedding Chapel Team. My daughters wedding was NOTHING as promised! Owner was in hospital nephew in charge, a TOTAL FASCIO! Hours prior to wedding, was told it had to be pushed up an hour, guests sat on floor, nephew dropped the cake. When the owner was contacted, she agreed to give credit for the extra guest we were charged who had to sit on the floor, as well as the cutting of the cake since her nephew dropped it. When the credit was not placed on the credit card, returned the call to her multiple times, FINALLY she answered the phone and told me I was a liar, none of our guests sat on the floor and the cake was only dropped because it was our fault and it was a dry cake. We are super low maintenance, and just wanted a pre-planned event to have our family come see us get married. I WISH I had more good things to say. Pros: It's beautiful! In a shabby chic, imagine the history kind of way that I'm absolutely in LOVE with! Teresa, our officiant, was great! She was nice, made us feel at ease, and gave us exactly what we wanted. Cons: Literally everything else. When they took my deposit, they said I didn't need to let them know any of my package preferences as "We'd talk several times before the big day." I NEVER heard from them again despite a dozen emails, phone calls, and voicemails trying to get in touch. I actually thought they had taken our deposit and were ripping us off. I was actually investigating last minute elopement ideas that were going to cost double as I was so scared I'd been scammed. They actually never called us back. We had a friend's cousin who called with a local number. They picked up immediately and said of course they were open for business. Originally I was going to get a cake, a champagne toast, and after being ignored, I just went with the simple package and a photos. Which brings me to my last con. The photos are TERRIBLE!!!! The lighting is terrible. Almost half of them are blurry. So many eyes closed shots that are completely unusable. Even simple things, like we were holding up our license and my side was lower (I'm 6 inches shorter), and he didn't bother to tell us it was crooked. DO NOT USE THEIR PHOTOGRAPHERS!!!!! We purchased the Elopement Package, which included the minister (Louann,) a wedding cake, engraved champagne glasses with a bottle of champagne, a harpist, a photographer, and a 30-min horse and carriage ride after the ceremony. The glasses are gorgeous- gold-plated with our names engraved in script. The photographer was very helpful and assisted us creatively throughout the ceremony. Our cake was divine- we ordered a two-tier, white almond cake with amaretto filling as we learned that it was a traditionally southern wedding cake flavor and we had it delivered to a local restaurant, Broussard's, for no extra charge. Our horse & carriage ride was romantic and fun, and it drove us through most of the French Quarter where alot of the public yelled their Congratulations wishes at us. Louann herself was a dream! She allowed us to communicate with her throughout the entire process leading up to the wedding and was very helpful with our many questions along the way. On the day of, the ceremony she delivered was flawless and romantic and she was very helpful throughout the visit, leading us through the necessary paperwork (she will even file the paperwork for you after the ceremony if you so choose.) We were part of a large group of friends who were meeting up in New Orleans for the 40th birthday of a very dear friend. Well, we were all doing a Ghost Tour together on Friday night. (Very fun, btw) The birthday girl surprised everyone by having it prearranged as a surprise at the end of the Ghost Tour to get married! It was a very special and memorable moment to be able to witness. This wedding took place at the French Quarter Wedding Chapel! So my review is from the standpoint of a guest of a ceremony here. The place is small and quaint with a ton of personality! The Reverend is a naturally gifted speaker and his humor and charm only added to the whole thing. The ceremony was beautifully done. I attended my sister's wedding there. Very disappointing. The woman doing the ceremony just went through the motions. There was no music to play as the bride walked down the aisle & they weren't told they needed to provide any. And Do Not pay for them to do the pictures!! Almost every one of hers has such a glare from the front door that washes out everything. You would expect that someone being paid to do them would know how to use their camera. My boyfriend (now husband) and I live near New Orleans so we were able to get all the paperwork ourselves. We followed Rev. Tony's advice and brought exact change to get our marriage license. Participated in a wedding here a few weeks ago and got changed in their backroom. I left the shirt I changed out of there, but was told they didn't have it when I called the following day. They said this without a second thought and it was obvious they didn't even check and couldn't be bothered. Staff was also rather rude to the mother of the bride who needed to use the bathroom before the ceremony. The response was unnecessary attitude as if it was a huge inconvenience. Oh boy where do I began! Rev. Tony married my husband and I about a week ago and we were certainly blown away! First off the chapel is absolutely GORGEOUS. Beautiful antiques surround you and the dollar bills of loved ones before you decorate the ceiling; it is definitely a place of love. This is one reason we did decide to be married here, every chapel here in California apparently doesn't believe in decorations. Rev Tony and his crew were definitely a cut above as well. I didn't feel like this was just another wedding to them. The violinist is wonderful and we really enjoyed the counseling that was given to us and the time they took even to interact with our family members and posing us for photos. We used the French Quarter Wedding Chapel for our wedding on October 6th 2018. We were coming from out of town and having someone local to help with planning was going to be a great asset, or so we thought. I first contacted Lou Ann to book our date in May, at which point we booked a date and paid our deposit. On their website they made it seem as though using their company would make planning an easy experience. I reached out multiple times for advice on possible venues, hotels or informal reception sites and was never given any suggestions. I personally found a venue (The Old Coffee Pot) and reached out to confirm a second line would be possible from there for the ceremony. We would then parade up to The Hotel Monteleone (where the carousel bar is located). In August, we requested that a violinist learn two specific songs for our wedding. We were told it would be an additional cost, to which we agreed - having our songs played was worth it. We also asked for a pedi-cab during the second line parade so that our wheelchair-bound uncle would be able to ride along. The day before our wedding I asked if there was anything we should meet about or if everything was good to go. We were told we could stop by the chapel and meet with Rev. Tony. When arrived at the venue, Rev. Tony told us that there was a miscommunication. Despite the texts, emails and me confirming our venue, they had our second line parade scheduled from their chapel, NOT from The Old Coffee Pot. I asked what our options were and he said we had to get married at their chapel. We were also told that we had a harpist instead of the violinist we had been promised. On top of all of this, our requested songs were not played during our ceremony. We were incredibly disappointed to not have our songs, especially because we were still charged for them. Due to an error on their part, I found out the day before my wedding that I was not only going to lose the deposit, but also that I would not be able to get married at the venue I had been dreaming of for the last several months. This was heartbreaking and emotionally distressing during a time that should have been the happiest week of my life. An apology was never offered for any of these mishaps. We figured out a solution on our own, asking if we could get married at The Old Coffee Pot and then walk up to the chapel and start the parade. They obliged, but this also meant after my ceremony, everyone had to run up 6 blocks to the chapel to have our official license signed and start our parade. The pedi-cab never showed up for the parade, another cost that was never reimbursed. On 11/26/18 we still had not received our marriage license from the state of Louisiana (we were told to wait 6-8 weeks) so I called the parish to check on the status. We needed the official license to be able to add me to my husband's insurance policy and I booked flights assuming I would have changed my name by the time we would be flying, but was unable to do so without our license. When I called the parish I was told that The French Quarter Wedding Chapel had not turned in our marriage license to be processed until November 15th (40 DAYS AFTER THE WEDDING BEFORE THEY SUBMITTED). I was very upset that they held onto my paperwork for so long. I sent a text message to Rev. Tony about it and he called the next day after a second text message. He said the state always blames him for turning them in late when they are running behind and that if they received it two weeks ago I should have my license soon. Lou Ann in the background said they could call the licensing office and see if they would expedite it. We received our official license on 12/24/18, 80 days after our wedding! I did not review the French Quarter Wedding Chapel immediately following all of the mishaps because I wanted time to digest the events. We live in New Bern, NC and hurricane Florence flooded our home on 9/15/18 (less than a month before we were headed to get married). Losing our home, our pictures and having something so traumatic happen 21 days before heading to get married was definitely a shock, and I wanted to reflect on everything before leaving a review that may have been unfair due to my circumstances. Now that I have had time to think and consider the review, I believe it is a true representation of their planning for our day went and wanted to outline the potential for stressful mishaps for future couples. The positives I can comment on: Spending time with our family and friends and marrying the man who has been my best friend and hero during the hardest time was absolutely amazing. I can also say that the videographer, photographer and second line parade band were PERFECT! read more

My wife and I were married by Reverend Tony in March 2014. The ceremony was held inside the little chapel. It was a nice ceremony followed by an Awesome second line. At the time we felt Tony was disorganized however he did come through at the end and we had a wonderful experience. However we did pay a video of the second line $400 and never received it. During the course of the next year we asked for our video several times and we're always given excuses that it was in editing or the mail or Tony was sick or the dog ate it. We went back to New Orleans for our first wedding anniversary and asked Tony in person for our video and he said he couldn't find it and would give us a refund. We have asked for the refund via text, email and carrier pigeon and to date have received nothing except excuses. My advice to any couple seeking to use his services is don't pay upfront. I don't think they are criminals but they are far from stand up people who can be taken at their word. read more

I was ready to pay for the $1800 ninety minute carriage ride package and the gouging began. Rev. Tony assured me it was the higher end photo shoot, not at all clear on the website probably on purpose. When I attempted to clarify this at purchase the office woman informed me it only included TWENTY FIVE photos. Are you kidding? I asked why an $1800 package for an hour and a half would be so few photos. She tried to use the extra cost of an hour and a half photographer/violin as part of the cost of that package but had no explanation that separately an hour and a half photographer includes over 100 photos. She had a 'take it or leave it' attitude so I did leave it. They are not the only way to elope in New Orleans. The hotel packages or simplyeloped are a better deal. read more
