They have a friendly and helpful staff. The library orders from other libraries for books they don't have!

The library is clean and quiet but the children's section currently leaves something to be desired. There could be more board books however my biggest complaint is over the kids computers. There are 4 kids computers and my daughter waited 30 minutes for one to free up. When I spoke to the desk they said the children are allowed to use the AWE Learning computers for a full hour. Back in LA where I'm from, the computer gives you a 20 minute timer then asks you to log off. Not only do kids not need an hour of straight screen time when they're surrounded by books, but 4 computers is too small for a library full of children. If even 8 children come and go in one hour, that's half the kids who can't play. If this is resolved I don't think I'd have much of an issue. The staff's been very friendly (so so kind) and the area is very well maintained. It's honestly just the policy that needs an adjustment. read more

The library is always noisy with kids running around and parents not caring at all. The staff are even worse they speak loudly and are constantly joking around and yelling. It would also be great if their study and meeting rooms had roofs on them to keep it more soundproof so that people on the outside don't have to hear some random child learning how to read the word "popsicle" read more

The librarians are helpful, the library itself is clean and nice. I am also able to reserve a book online and pick it up from this library.

While this building is beautiful I question the understanding of the young lady who was sitting at the help desk. My husband and I signed up for a class on "Trusts" which was being held here. After the seminar I asked if they held any classes here like knitting, crafting, or crochet and the answer was no. I then asked how to start something like that and was told she wasn't sure but I could schedule an appointment with the Librarian to talk about it. This is something that all employees should be aware of. Either way, the facility is beautiful and very clean. I just was not happy that she wasn't aware of their calendar or how to go about getting those classes started. read more

The new French Valley Library is clean, large and full of books!! We love coming here when passing through Winchester. The children's section is very large with computers the kids can use. Also it can feel a bit nostalgic walking through the aisles of DVD rentals! Brings me back to Blockbuster Video vibes. Also, in the RivCo library system, books can be returned at any RivCo location which is so convenient! read more

This library is a public entity and suppose to be like a library not a public park. The kids come and play with loud voice. the manager quoted: "this is public library, if you are coming tomorrow, don't come because we will have more kids and they are making noise." The staff joking around very loud and if you look at them; they will reply with obnoxious way to those who come here to study. I want to request from management or board of directors to make a good policy for the management and staff. It is public library not public school and not private tutoring class as well. read more

This has got to be the noisiest library. To the office staff laughing and talking out loud, to parents letting their children do as they please. The front desk staff acts as if they can't ask parents to manage their kids. I have never known a library to operate this way. There are always ongoing wifi issues. As soon as you walk in, the employee should inform you the wifi isn't working. Don't sit there and wait until you plug in your computer to start your project. There is a lack of customer service. As soon as you walk in the front desk staff are sitting behind their desk conversating. You would think they'd say hello or welcome. They just sit there. The facility is always clean, and there's enough room for everyone. read more

Not sure who is out here giving low ratings to a FREE public library... lol This is literally one of the newest libraries in the area and I thought it was pretty nice! The parking lot is a little small compared to other libraries, but still plenty of parking spots available. The staff seemed friendly and it seemed like they also hosted a bunch of monthly events which is nice. We honestly just brought our 3 year old here for like an hour and he had a good time reading a couple books... can't speak for the selection of books they have but I'm sure it's decent read more

I love that I can checkout books from other libraries in the country and have them delivered to this location. The library is clean and they have a large database of books to choose from. I like this location because it has its own large parking lot, there is always staff on hand ready to help and I can always get in/out in less than five minutes. My only complaint is the online system glitches sometimes. Like showing I have a book that I have actually returned or not updating your renewal extension which will result in fees. It's a little annoying to have to call in to resolve issue but an easy fix and the staff is friendly and will fix right away. read more

I've complained about this library before months ago. I came again to give it another try to study, it's IMPOSSIBLE. The absolute NOSIEST library you'll ever come to, worst part is? The staff doesn't care. They also add to the noise. There is no library etiquette anymore it disgusts me. I only come here to check out books now, I wouldn't suggest this place to study at. 1 PM visit and the two ladies at the front desk (what even is their purpose?) chatting away, no acknowledgement. You never get acknowledged here. This is one of the loudest libraries we have been in. Rude adults having loud conversations, children screaming, babies crying, kids running around, etc. It's the complete opposite of what you'd think a library should be. People are here working, doing homework, reading, but you don't have the peace and quiet you'd expect to have. I'd say we wouldn't be back, but we have an hour to kill once a week and this is the closest place to stop at. Can you hire employees who possibly want to do their jobs or at least act like they are getting paid to do their job? read more

PLEASE fix the WiFi. The WiFi when working on the library computers is fine but when you try and connect the WiFi to your phone or other device it disconnects you almost instantly. It doesn't work. Also not the place to come if you want to get work done, very noisy and staff doesn't seem to tell screaming children anything. This is not a park, it's a library. read more

I just had the most wonderful experience at the French Valley Public Library. First of all, the facilities and grounds are beautiful. So peaceful; just what you would want as a reader. We are so lucky to have had the facility built in our neighborhood. Secondly, my interaction with one of the staff members was top-notch. I asked her a simple question, got a knowledgeable and succinct answer, and then she proceeded to walk me through all aspects of using the library's online features, since that was something that I was interested in. She really spent a lot of time with me to make sure that I understood everything that the library had to offer and how I could access those resources. Her demeanor was lovely and she made my experience so pleasant and worthwhile. I'm so glad I stopped by the library today! This library is a little farther than other local libraries that are closer to our home, but we like it so much that we've made this our primary stop for books. I don't agree with the reviewer in the "not recommended" section in regards to their thoughts on the staff in general, but I would agree that the person in particular they mention-I think a manager of some sort(?) does at times come off as rude or even even 'smarmy'. I wouldn't even mention this as I do try to be understanding that everyone has off, or bad days, but on the way back from our last visit my friends son, who is a sweet kid who never has anything bad to say about anybody and keeps his criticisms to himself, remarked that he felt like she "talks in a really forced friendly way but talks to you like you're dumb" which saddened me. I'd hate to focus and end on a negative note though, so I'll pay compliments to the fact that this place does seem to be in tip top shape in its cleanliness, the computers and amenities are well placed, has convenient opening hours and our interactions with all other staff so far has been positive, particularly with the ladies who do the storytimes and a lady I believe named Amy(?) is especially helpful and comes across as a empathetic person who's happy to be of service. read more

It is a well-designed, beautiful and modern library. Also, one of the most noisiest library I've ever been at. I love libraries, I love the smell of books, and going through every aisle and flipping through pages of books. I also go to the library when I need to do some hard core studying. Board exams, certifications, research, and what not. Sadly, I think the staff should really encourage quietness here. Even some are guilty of chatting and talking in their outside voice and laughing out loud (nothing against cackles of laughter but there is a place for this, it can be done modestly). People are taking calls on their cell, Parents allowing their toddlers to wander by themselves, whining and crying (nothing against kids either, they are the cutest, but this isn't a playground). I don't know. Call me old school but I like my library quiet and conducive to learning. The staff were extremely nice and helpful though, and the library itself is very clean and bright. read more

Great site and location. Aesthetically it's a beautiful building. Staff however, one in particular, of course it being the manager (or head librarian unsure about the official title) who is supposed to lead by example, leaves much room for improvement. This woman speaks to staff (as witnessed) and visitors alike, with a sarcastic and belittling demeanor. Simply unpleasant and distasteful experience. read more

Worse library I've been too. They complain all day long about children but sit behind desk talking all day to the point we're I can hear there conversation complaining about people asking "where they Mexican" about what they were doing Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Talking about there last name is Mexican and her second last name is Italian. When you try and check out books they till then the self check out is open instead of just helping them. I hate using self check out and would rather wait in line. What do these people at the desk do that is so important that they can't help people check out books. Instead of going around telling people to make there kids be quiet and sit still, maybe ask if they would like paper to draw on some kids love the library and have autism (my kids can't sit still) but still love to be out. Especially at the library. The women behind the desk make us not want to visit. read more
