Great spot for a quick bite or for brunch. The location is super central and the service is prompt. I ordered the vegan breakfast bowl that was quite delicious but simple. Tons of veggies, potatoes and some beans. Coffee was pretty good the selection of baked goods looked delicious. The only concern was the lack of vegan options. Ordered the vegan bowl for takeout one afternoon for a snack. Conveniently located right downtown, with street parking out front. The bowl was basically a hash with potatoes at the base, some black beans and a bit of veg. The potatoes were very crispy, almost like they forgot about them for a while. So, charred potatoes at the base, and lacklustre vegetables. The portion was pretty small, especially for $13 -- I would want 30-50% more for a proper meal. Wasn't too enthralled with this place, though I appreciate the vegan option. read more

On our last morning in Regina, with word-of-mouth from some locals we stumbled upon Fresh and Sweet! Keep in mind this place gets really crowded due to its location and popularity. Thinking we'd be seated as if we're at a diner, or Cora's we had to first find our own table to keep our seats and proceed to the front to place our orders. We were informed during the week they have front counter service. For food I had originally ordered their smoked salmon bowl, but came was informed much later that they were out of it :( which was a big strike considering the menu was small to begin with. I understand FRESH keeps their menu sweet by keeping a certain amount of ingredients, but please ensure you have all it avialable....or perhaps the Salmon wasn't fresh enough to serve to patrons. As a result I opted for their Buffalo Benny bowl; which wasn't bad! nothing to rave about, essentially it tasted like Frank's hotsauce mixed-in with my eggs, veggies, and hashbrowns..... Overall the food experience was OKAY, service was OKAY, and the place was clean....Would I come back here if I was in town, probably not. sorry Fresh aint to Sweet to me. read more

The food is great but if your group is more than 2 people and if you're going in peak hours, don't do it. It will take forever to get a seat and then it will take forever to get your food. If you have kids, don't even attempt it. Everybody will be in a bad mood by the time the food arrives. The breakfast was standard. The red velvet pancake was exceptional. read more

I work next door so I come here quite often. Today I was dying for a cupcake, so I caved and got an Easter cream egg cupcake. If you love thick, rich frosting, you will love this! Super moist chocolate cake with creamy vanilla frosting and a mini cream egg on top. I love their cappuccinos too! Paired together, I was on a caffeinated sugar high for the afternoon! To be honest though, I'm not a huge fan of their lunch menu. I find it a bit over-priced, and the quality of the soups and sandwiches is inconsistent. The staff, though friendly to customers, are sometimes openly hostile to each other. Despite that, I will continue to come back for the coffee and occasional treat. read more

I went here, because it was featured on You Gotta Eat Here. It was quiet at 3pm and I ordered a Cafe Laté with vanilla shot to go. I noticed they had chocolate gluten free cupcakes with vanilla bean frosting. The waitress said the gluten free ones are smaller than the regular cupcakes so I bought two to bring home. I have had one so far and it is a bit dry, but the frosting is awesome. Will chow down one the second one after dinner. read more

John Catucci this is a fail. Why did you feature this place on your show? Folks you most certainly do NOT need to eat here. The french onion soup - the soup could have been so good. The broth was actually not terrible. But the execution ruined it. The cheese was lumped together on the bottom. The soup was also lukewarm. See photo. This apple bacon grilled cheese that everyone raves about was a disaster. You couldn't taste anything except for chewy bacon and grease. The taste of apple and cheese was non existent. When you use soggy apples and a very mild cheese, the bacon taste will overwhelm everything. Service is mediocre. Which is why I give this experience a Fail. read more

Did breakfast with the family this morning - very disappointed. Delivery of meal was extremely slow and not as ordered. The attitude of the staff member I talked to was poor. Clearly she had not been trained on the importance of customer service. This place was yummy! I had a soup and wrap special for lunch. It was honey chicken club wrap and cream of broccoli soup. We also bought an Reese apply candy which was awesome!!!! The staff is so friendly and accommodating -- on one occasion, I got a phone call that my grandmother had passed away when I had just arrived at the restaurant and the server gave me a sympathy card and a cupcake to take home! Absolutely terrible service. Appalling waitress and bad food selection. Got the order wrong 3 times (in the one day) and then spoke about us to each other and pointed at us. We used to frequent this pace regularly and had to wait to get in, not so much anymore. Had to wait over 50 minutes to get out food. nobody checked on us. no coffee refill. Not kidding. I sent a note to the owner, she apologized and sent me a gift certificate. Went yesterday to redeem the gift certificate.... with marginal results. Service again was not good. Took 10 minutes to receive my first coffee, not kidding (as I did time it). Food came out relatively quick though, as restaurant was not that busy. We tried Fresh andn Sweet for breakfast on Saturday, March 17. We arrived a few minutes before opening and were met with a line up to get in. Service was friendly and enthusiatic with staff opening doors a few minutes early to accomodate those lined up. Place is child friendly with crayons and activity sheet provided for kids. Hubby was kept java happy with frequent refills. The menu is full of sweet breakfast items. I had the Bananas Foster - Butter Rum waffle with bananas sautéed in cinnamon, butter and brown sugar. SOOOO delicious. Hubby had "Won't need lunch" breakfast - very ample serving. We took home a cinnamon bun and chocolate apple - both very delicious. Very casual atmosphere. Sat waiting for our waitress to come get our order for 15 minutes and when she finally did didn't apologize for the wait or anything. Waited another 30 minutes for our food and the place was not full at all like it usually is. Never came back to check on our food and asked to add blueberries on a waffle and never got them.
