We've grown used to the heirloom beans, light fresh roasts, direct trade ethical deliciousness at our neighbourhood place in Montreal (call us hipsters! we accept this!) Roasted within a few days, beautifully brewed, light and full of the complex flavour of the beans, and served by passionate if surly professionals. The surly is the only reason I deducted a star, there's no reason to provide less warmth and care than places with shittier product. This is an unnecessary feature of too many third wave coffee places. Or maybe it was just a bad day. Bonus - there's a super delicious and friendlier small brewer on site serving up some super freaking tasty local beer, and giving generous samples!!

Quality is right up there but portions are tiny for price. I'm beginning to smarten up and realize that there are good places in town, but you pay an arm and a leg for it cause they virtually have no competition.
