This is a neat place to take kids. Everytime it's a different experience. This time was nice. I got my tea, candy bar and my daughter got fries and to run around and play near other kids. Service is good, they're friendly. Prices are pretty normal I think for a coffee shop. For kids the play is hit or miss. Sometimes there's big kids who get into the infant area, sometimes the kids are overly aggressive and parents don't supervise their children. We're here pretty often. Both for open play and toddler parties. Fresh cup playhouse stays sparkly clean. They clean thoroughly even down to the play pit balls. Rotating drink/food specials are both tasty and affordable. The best part? All of the play area equipment gets rotated! read more

First time visiting so went inside with 3 other people, only ordered 2 coffees and toast. There was nobody else in front of us when we arrived so we were under the impression that service would be quick... we got our first coffee within 5 minutes and then we had to stand around for another 35 minutes for the second coffee and toast.. meanwhile other customers are walking in and getting their stuff before us.. the girls working didn't acknowledge us standing there until 20 minutes go by then they ask what were waiting on... just seemed very disorganized and like nobody knew what was going on. Don't know if they have a manager but probably wouldn't hurt to hire one to help delegate tasks. They gave us a $5 off for next visit but probably wont be going back. ‍ read more

I loved the idea of this place, being able to sip a coffee and enjoy a snack while the kids play indoors? Genius. But the execution? Not so much. The play area was packed with kids of all ages, with very little supervision. At one point, I saw a kid jumping off the top of the treehouse while toddlers were trying to toddle in peace below. Bigger kids were running wild, literally bumping into the little ones, and there were even babies crawling around in the big kid zone. Total chaos. Honestly, it felt more like a free-for-all than a safe, enjoyable play space. There needs to be better crowd control, or maybe a cap on how many kids are allowed in at once, separate areas by age, and definitely some enforcement of basic safety rules. Until then, it's just an overwhelming mess that takes all the fun out of the experience. Definitely room for improvement. read more

This is a cafe style area geared towards kids because they have a play area that takes a good amount of space. I wanted to check it out because I hadn't been inside since the remodel. They have a full fresh cup coffee making area along with having a drive thru, also you can order food from sicilys still and hang out if you want. Not sure if they have pretty much the full sicilys menu. I didn't take pictures of really look at the menus. If you have kids you have to pay to use the play area. I got a lotus, one of the specials(no money off for ordering a special) I just think this is where they make their money lol $4.50 for a 16oz. You can use their punch card at this location or the hut on Muldoon. Double punch wednesdays too. read more

This place reminded me a little of McDonald's play place - you could get food && watch your kids play. I liked how it was a little more upscale tho. You could have coffee && it was clean. The employees there would clean the areas every so often to keep it sanitized. There were different areas for babies if you liked. There were about 15 or so kids in and out of the main play area and maybe 3 other parents besides myself. It would be nice to have the rules displayed or read before entering the play area. A couple of the unsupervised kids were being a bit rambunctious. Running around and nearly bumping into the littles and other kids climbing and jumping off the fire truck. Another unsupervised child actually struck my baby girl twice across the face. I don't think I'll be bringing her back anytime soon. 5$ to get my little bullied and babysit other people's children is a little ridiculous. read more

Great place for taking a mom break and letting the kiddo run off some steam while you enjoy a cup of coffee or a treat! I've seen this business evolve over the past couple of years and they seem to be streamlining the play space and the overall atmosphere into something that works for everyone. I do think a lot of negative reviews here are unfairly based on the behavior of other parents and their kids, personally I've never encountered any problems but I also realize that other people will be in the building while we are there. We love Fresh Cup Playhouse! It's a playhouse designed specifically for little ones aged around 2-4 (and a separate area for really little ones). There's a good variety of toys for kids with all interests (a slide, a swing, a kitchen playset, a shopping playset, a rocketship, a puppet show, etc.) I've taken my 4 year old nephew here several times and he always has a good time. It's only $5 for the first hour then $2 for every additional hour afterwards. They also have punch cards! It's a great place to watch your kiddo play and interact with other kids their age, or if you need to get some work done, you can sit near the play area (which is gated by the way). They also have drinks, snacks, and food served by Sicily's. Service is always so friendly, too! read more

This place is such a fun idea. They always have new toys and the staff actively cleans toys and climb ons. The not 5 stars is because of parents who treat it like daycare. They put their kids over the wall and never look up again. I have taken my baby several times. Tonight 4 for year old full on sprinting in a small space full on ran over my 20 month old and I was standing by him. Her parents were sitting at a table completely oblivious to her full on running pushing the little carts and the only kid screaming at the top of her lungs. He immediately started to scream in pain, we are home now and he has a bruise on his side. I was pretty upset and I said " can you watch your kid"? They looked at me like I was crazy, got her and walked out . Seriously 4 year olds can be taught empathy, to be apologetic and manners. This was a teachable moment and they were just to lazy. This is my 7th baby, I would have walked my kid over and apologized myself so my kid could learn and see there action caused hurt. For the sake of the hard work this established puts in, parents pay attention to your kids. read more

I was traveling for work and brought my family with me and found this place just by happenstance, and I am glad I did. It was a great place for my kiddo to burn off some energy. The food was decent and the overall prices were more than reasonable. Coffee was good as well. Highly recommended for anyone with young kids. Kids can play and mom and dad can take a little bit of a break while sipping on some coffee. It certainly won't be quiet or relaxing, but a good way to spend an afternoon. read more

This place is amazing! There needs to be more places like this in Alaska. I had a couple of doctors appointments in Anchorage and my sister was able to watch my babies here while enjoying coffee and snacks as they played inside safely and warm (it was a blizzard outside)! If we lived in Anchorage, I would come here often. My 3 year old made a couple friends and had a blast. My 1 year old also loved pushing the shopping cart around, and playing with the toys in the infant-18 month section. 10/10 would reccomend for any moms or dads who need a little bit of a break or a space to work on their computer/phones while the kids can play! read more

Finally took my son and met our neighbors here tonight after hearing many good things. It's a nice, clean, family environment that felt very safe & protected. It seems like it's maybe a family business. The play area is full of fun quality pretend playsets. You can order fresh, delicious pizza, calzones, sandwiches, gourmet toasts, fruit, chips, baked goods, etc. as well as yummy, hot or cold coffee & tea drinks. It's a great place to go to relax when you need a nice break for yourself while letting your kids play in a nice, safe area. We'll be back soon! read more

Not really friendly and I asked for a side of avocado and got avocado toast. When I said it wasn't what I ordered I got an "Oh" with an attitude and an eye roll unfortunately. Cool concept. However, I couldn't get past the disgusting restroom. Soiled toilet seats and trash everywhere. My kid said, "I'm scared..." when he went to go potty. Couldn't help but think that staff also use that restroom and then prepared food. It really ruined what was a fun experience for my kid. read more

Faaaaantastic combination!  The large play area is filled with toys of ALL SORTS for toddlers and pre-schoolers.  There are several TV monitors high on the wall, but very few kids pay any attention; the varied toys, short slide & small trampoline are the main draw.  And then it's a very secure play area:  a low wall surrounds it, which is easy for parents sitting outside the play area to reach in, but the wall is too tall for kids to climb out.  And there's an easy-for-adults-to-work secure entry gate.  Although there's a staff member "riding herd" to some extent in the play area, if they desire, adults can enter the area (after taking off shoes) to more closely monitor their own child/children.   Outside the play area is a typical cafe, with delicious beverages and food offerings, small tables with seats...and it looks like there's a closed-off area for perhaps a small, private party.  When not eating or drinking, adults (not kids) need to wear a mask against COVID.  Some adults can do a little laptop work, while other adults can carry on conversations, getting to know one another. Good concept, 5 dollars per kid over 1 for an hour of play. Lots of parents not tending to their kids who then terrorize other children. Main woman at the front was also very grumpy on several occasions and did not seem to be very tolerant of the children. Was told that we didn't have the choice of extending when our time was up, which is what we planned on, because they were at max capacity and we needed to leave. read more

I flew 3000 miles for a birthday party, that the staff here had double booked, our party and another. We had booked first, and they told us that we could not have our party there. They were extremely unprofessional, rude, not sympathetic, and basically did not care that we also had guests showing up in 20 minutes. I feel that the one and only reason they told us we had to leave was that the other party was bigger and had rented a bigger part of the cafe therefore paid more. All of the people working there were very rude. I do not recommend ever going to this place. What a huge disappointment. read more
