Fresh nails is my ALL time favorite spot. Danny is the BEST, and takes care to make sure my nails are strong and will last for as long as humanly possible. Because I'm away for school whenever I come back he'll make sure to redo any nails that are lifting at the edges etc from other salons (and says it's just part of the refill - but puts so much extra time & work in to make sure they're up to his standard!), so they always look 1000x better than any other place! He's also AMAZING with designs and a fast worker. The rest of the staff is lovely, and they're so good at squeezing you in last minute (the amount of times I've called like an hour before I've came... Thank you Danny). horrible experience today!! I brought an elderly woman there to have her nails painted , the woman started using an OLD FILE which was obvious it used ! I asked if she could get me a clean new file her response was "I don't feel comfortable doing her nails" and kicked us out !!! my daughter has had a nail salon for 10 years I'm another city !! all I can say is this place was pathetic and I would not recommend ! read more

Got my pedicure done here once, won't be coming back again. Other salons I've gone to go full on out with the massages, callous removal and everything without question. Those kind of services were worth every penny, if not more. However, these guys just soaked my feet in water, used some buffer block and slapped a cream or two on (with very minimal massage) and went straight to painting the nails (it was clear that my feet needed more pampering than my nails, especially when I come in with trimmed toenails). It felt completely rushed and It wasn't even busy (only myself and another woman and nowhere near closing hours) It felt like they just wanted to get on with it so they cut corners. And by "they", I mean three young employees swapped around working on my feet, which is okay I guess, but under these circumstances it felt super uncomfortable because: 1) They were constantly goofing around and making jokes in their language (if you wanna speak in your language, that's totally cool! Just be a little bit more mindful of how you may come off in front of your customer. I know a ton of Salons do this but you'll see how this situation in particular differs as you read further along) 2) One of them literally just walked into the salon, and straight to my station where he nudged his buddy off so he could take over (still wearing his winter jacket). He took a seat and started painting away (still wearing his winter jacket) without uttering a word or even gesturing a small acknowledgement to what concerns I may have to this random dude in a parka who literally just waltzed in from the streets a second ago and took hold of my toes ......how am I to believe that this isn't a random friend who wanted to "have a go" for shits and giggles? Especially when parka guy did only 3 or 4 nails and passed me back as if saying "meh, I'm bored. You can have your job back now" and carries off (still in his winter jacket). Very annoyed by this as a first time customer at Fresh Nails who has no familiarity with the place or workers. 3) From the start, I asked the girl if she would please NOT pull on my toes during the massage. She nodded. What happens next? Buddy-o who she passed the task on is yanking at my toes. If you're going to trade off, you can at least communicate that little detail, especially if you're chatting up a storm, I'm sure that could fit in somewhere. Yes, people forget some minor details, and I'm really not being a stickler for that. Although, slip-ups like that tend to happen when you're not really focused on the job and have a rather off-put ting demeanor to top it off. I'm not saying you can't have a good time conversing with your co-workers. Nor do I have an issue by the fact that it was all spoken in another language. My issue is that it looked like they just didn't care about giving their new customer a genuine, 5-star worthy pedicure (not talking about 5-star rated like salon pedicure, just the kinda REGULAR pedicure any other normal salon would give for that same price, if not, cheaper!) So why should I care about coming back? Fresh Nails left me with a bad first impression. Bonus Review: Only pro to my experience was nicely painted toenails (1 star for that) and employees who weren't maliciously rude (nor am I saying they were great, obviously, so a second star for that neutrality). read more

This was absolutely the worst nail experience I have ever had in my life. My usual spot was closed on the weekend so I went here for a full set of bio gel nails and shellac polish. The entire time I was getting my nails done by the owner Danny, he was watching the soccer game and not even looking at my hands. He put the gel on super fast and barely did any shaping. I mentioned they seemed too thick but he brushed it off. After the polish was on I realized they were way too thick and I asked him to fix it. He then started berating me for not knowing what I'm talking about and accusing me of wasting his time. I have never seen such rude, unprofessional behaviour. He took my polish off and thinned them out and then didn't shape them and angrily repainted them. I paid 70 dollars for the worst nails I've ever had. Do not go here. I was walking along Queen when I stumbled upon this nail salon. I've been curious about all the alternatives to acrylic nails for a while (because I personally think they look kinda trashy) and I've got a mix of fingers that grow really strong nails while the others are always breaking. I noticed they weren't busy so I thought it'd be a great time to ask (it's taken me this long to ask because I tend to go when nail salons are zoos) and I feel weird asking tons of questions when people are obviously super busy. Anyhow, they gave me their best recommendation for something very natural looking but would last a lot longer than my shellac was...So basically something that met in the middle of shellac and acrylic. Oh, and by the way theres a nail salon people should watch out for on Yonge close to St. Clair...they do awful Shellac jobs. I don't remember the name but it's a few doors down from Kearns and Co Hair salon (which is a GREAT salon btw.) I've done it twice there and they start to peel within 24 hours. All the shellac I had left was on my ring and pinky fingers. The guy (I forget his name) asked me how long my nails already were or if I didn't have any at all. He took a look and saw that a bunch of my nails were pretty long, some pretty rough and he noticed my shellac. He explained a lot to me about how the shellac I got probably wasn't done properly and all that stuff 'cause it shouldn't be peeling, which is what I thought! From this point I ended up doing that cool gel thing (I don't even remember what THAT'S called--I'm 0-3 today -_-) he only had to add tips to two sad finger nails and matched their length to the rest of my fingernails. He spoke Vietnamese the most of the time trying to get me to practice mine (Ha! What a joke!) It was a great time! I felt kind of bad though 'cause there was this lady in there who was acting like a stuck up b***h, it turns out she's a regular, acts that way all the time and they just take it. She was doing things like helping herself their manicure water bowls for her dog, things like that bug me because I have a dog too, I love him to DEATH but I don't bring him to the nail salon with me among many other places!!! At least she provided a good source of entertainment. Okay, enough of that. My conclusion? This is a great Down-to-Earth nail salon. I usually don't like going to Vietnamese run places because they look at me funny when I tell them I'm half AND because I feel guilty for not going to my aunt...LOL If you're like me, want to get your nails done well and would prefer to hang/practice your vietnamese with soft spoken people as opposed to your aunt (or the like) that kind of yell at you, ask too many questions you don't want to asnwer and make you feel bad about your awful accent... come here! read more

Was here earlier today with a friend. I met some nice people who swear by this place. The salon was clean, with a fair number of colour choices. The staff seemed to genuinely care about whether or not patrons were happy. They checked in frequently to see if you liked the work they were doing, from the shape, to colour choice etc. At $35 for a mani/pedi the price is in line with other places, and especially for the beaches. I'm in search of some good nail salon options, and this made the cut. I'll be back! read more

Best nail place in the Beach. I've been a client since they opened. I've had manis, pedis, solar nails and shellac. Danny & Amy are very friendly and they take a lot of pride in their work. This is for good reason, their work is fantastic. Sometimes, if I'm not in the Beach, I will go elsewhere for a manicure of pedicure and I am always disappointed and return to fresh nails where they look at my nails and say "hmmm, who did this? This is not our work...!" LOL. But at this point, I try to stick to Fresh. It's the only way I know I'm going to be happy with my mani/pedi. I think I've been spoiled by the consistently amazing results, attention to detail and exceptional customer service. read more

V. Disappointing. Went there on another occasion and was unimpressed. Tried again. Unfriendly, hurried and lackadaisical. More concerned with cleaning for the night than providing service. The massaging chair did not work. and when I got off the chair, I fell. I hurt my foot badly and all the nail polish wiped off. They had to do my nails over again. They charged me extra for the extra nail polish. When I told the owner that he should have given me a discount as a good will gesture, he said, " I have to pay for my stuff". My foot was so swollen I couldn't put my sandals on. I had to take a taxi home. I will never go back there again. read more

I really wanted to like this place. The staff was very friendly at first. I got a shellac manicure and regular pedicure. When I left, everything looked fine but the next day, 2 of my shellac nails chipped. I called to ask if they could fix them and the lady on the phone said no problem. When I went back, the owner was really defensive and was arguing with me, insisting that I banged my fingers hard because they do a good job with shellac. I get my nails done regularly, so I'm not naive about shellac. They were poorly done. Needless to say, it was am awkward 10 mine to fix them, and he didn't start from scratch on those nails like another place did when a nail chipped. Instead, he just added more paint on top and now it's not smooth. Really annoying since I dropped almost 80 bucks there that day. Will not go back! read more

Fresh Nails has been consistent in providing excellent services for myself and family for over a year. We get manicures, pedicures and eyebrow waxing and have always been 100% happy with their professional, clean and friendly service. I get shellac manicures that look fantastic for weeks, and my daughter's gel nails also last long. We go about every 3-4 weeks when the nail growth becomes noticeable. I regularly receive compliments on my nails even when the manicure is weeks old. Calling ahead is a good idea. They seem to have a steady flow of a loyal customer base, so sometimes they are busy. Was not happy with my shellac manicure after he was finished and told him there were streaks and it was denting when you pushed on a nail. He said that was "normal" and did not offer to fix it.
