Freshmart is a mini supermarket/health food store located in the town of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico along the eastbound #2 main highway in a mini mall. They specialize in healthy foods, refreshments, vitamins & other natural goods. In the back they have a small cafeteria with a seating/dining area that serves healthy vegetarian & regular hot/cold food, coffee & refreshments. The food is very good & if you happen to pick up a flyer you can participate in one of their seasonal natural cooking classes for free. The place is bright, clean & simply decorated. Service is fast & the staff is friendly & knowledgeable. There's an enormous parking lot outside, as well. A healthy alternative whether you're vegan, vegetarian or not. read more

Health food store comparable to the states TJ. U get the best of the best fresh produce and it even has a food bar to grab a bite of healthy eats if U have special diet needs met. This is the place to purchase Ur Himalayan toothpaste too, which is hard to find. read more

We decided to drop in and check it out after someone had described it as a health food store. I wish I had discovered it at the beginning of my trip rather than the end, but it was a good place to grab a healthy snack on the way out of town. They carry a lot of my organic and non GMO brands that I shop at home so it was nice to see them in the shelves. A great selection of organic nuts, teas supplements and essential oils. I noticed a lot of vegan options too. I didn't even check out the produce because we were looking for a to go snack. I wanted hummus, but all they had was hummus in a can! I've never seen that before and decided to skip it. The healthiest grocery store I saw during our whole trip. It was pretty small, but they did a lot with the space they have. This is the first health food store I've located in the north and west parts of the island. They have a decent bulk section, lots of Braggs products (apple cider vinegar and amino acids), coconut aminos, coconut vinegar, coconut sweetener, nuts, chilled kombucha, shampoos, teas, vitamins, gluten-free mixes and cookies, flours, condiments, and other health care products. The fact that there is a dedicated store for healthier organic/gluten free type food is nice. However, the selection is small and you can get a lot of what is offered here at most grocery stores in the area for a lot cheaper. But that isn't the reason for the low score. I had to argue with the cashier about what I was buying. Granted it was an unmarked bulk bag, but when I corrected her she did not believe me and after comparing the contents to what was in the bin, still had to consult with the manager. Questioning the integrity of your customer is not a good business model. I will gladly continue shopping at the econo where I pay less and am shown more respect. read more

This Puerto Rican owned health food chain is like the Whole Foods of PR, albeit smaller selection. There are a few locations around the island. Prices are equivalent to same products in the states. They have frozen homemade vegetarian pastels around the holidays. read more

I originally heard of this place through the grapevine on my quest to find b12 methyl;a very important item to a person who doesn't eat a lot meat. I found it very hard to find the methyl form of b12 in Rincon, so I was very grateful to stumble across Fresh Mart. Because this store is in a fairly rural area,I wasn't expecting a large selection of items. But they had what I needed so I was satisfied. If you are looking for just a few minor things to supplement your diet, then I would definitely recommend this place. read more
