If you like checking out art galleries there are a few I'm sure!The Tower District has more appeal for iconoclasts and old school punkers like me (this for whoever it was that thinks there are too many tattoo parlors). In case you haven't noticed, all of Fresno has too many tattoo parlors and smoke shops! If you'd rather hang around in strip malls, there are plenty of those in Fresno, but there isn't any place else like the Tower! And for the person who complained about lack of shopping: What were you expecting to find? A Nordstrom's Rack? Dragon's Treasure! Ragin' Records! Plus Fresno's most iconic nightspots for alternative music! If you like cover bands keep going to The Bar in the strip mall @ 1st & Gettysburg or go hang out in Clovis! P.S. To the reviewer who complained about restaurants not being open at time he visited: Isn't that what Yelp is for; it posts hours of operation! I agree totally with poster who compared T.D. to Frisco without the panhandlers!

Although there is architectural charm in the Tower, the culture is largely dark, sideshow hollow…read moreand hellbent on a race to the absolute bottom. You see/hear it in some of the surroundings and it's loud, unapologetic and shallow over rewarding itself for 'expression/feelings' at the sake of high self-expectations, work and personal accomplishment. It gets some folks though the day, but largely thinks nothing about tomorrows... Moral and ethical decay abounds...a sense of foreboding beneath the veneer. There's some good here, too. Decent folks who are the opposite but still, it's highly dysfunctional. If there was a bright spot, it's some of the art galleries in the area! Studio 74 would be the most interesting place in that area where I've purchased a few works! Stimulating, interesting and wholesome, these are the worthwhile places to visit that go beyond the dreary sideshow aspects of Tower. -G

The piece demonstrates an interesting shadow effect, creating a 3D illusion, and the artwork is in overall good condition. The surrounding area was quiet and uneventful on a Sunday around noon, and parking was easy to find 1-2 blocks away. A cool mural to check out if you like art or music, or just have some time to kill while in Fresno.

It truly fills my heart with much joy to see the years of dedication from organizers, vendors,…read morespecial guests, and of course con-goers alike, ultimately transform this once free to attend small gathering in a practically defunct mall (sorry, Manchester) into a full-fledged operation taking place at the Fresno Fair Grounds. From 2013 up until about 2016 or so I had attended every convention from the first one, and slowly saw the growth over such a short span of time. It overlapped with the discontinuation of Ani-Jam, our previous staple of Central Valley anime conventions. Thus, providing some comfort in the fact that it would not be the end of our community gatherings. I think Ani-Me also paved the way for a lot of other small conventions to pop up here, and there; providing more opportunities to gather with cosplay buddies and promote small vendors frequently. I hope to see bigger and brighter things for this convention as each one seems to expand its horizons.

The prices I believe are pretty decent. But I used to get the baked sandwich a lot when I lived in…read morefresno and it was STUFFED with pepperoni before. I understand inflation and such but there was about 1/8 of the amount as before. The slice of pizza was LARGE! We got pepperoni and ricotta and there was a great amount of both but very little mozzarella. Our biggest issue was we paid extra for ranch and jalapeño, which is my favorite part of the baked sandwich and we got neither. And we paid for a side of spicy Alfredo and it had a melted lid and all over everything. So all together we paid 6$ for sauces and it was just a fail. Uber eats did refund the sauce, and to some that's not a big deal, but to sauce people like us you understand. I would have rather had pasta or ordered something else if I wasn't able to get sauces with my entrees. Next time we will try to order in person and make sure they don't forget anything and I will update my review.
