Whereas previously I had to bribe him to practice, now he practices eagerly and he tells me "the time flies." He looks forward to his lessons each week. Coulsons was the only one that called me back, and within the hour. Due to COVID, he said he wouldn't be in until the next day, but that he had the book I needed in stock. I tried several other options by phone and email and got only 1 email response, from a well-known shop that didn't have it in stock. I finally called Coulsons back the next day, and the gentleman agreed to meet me in the shop. An hour later, I was driving back out of the city, very satisfied.

They are sound proof and mic'd with a board and speakers. You can't really hear other rooms when you're in your room. It's a little louder in the hall but not bad at all. The staff is badass and they try to help you as much as they can. If you need a different amp or have any issues, they will try to fix it. It's not super expensive if you can split the cost amongst members.

And at the end of last season I decided it was time to upgrade the fx3 (which I also got from VCC during covid). Now for the last 8 months I've been browsing trek.com, specialized.com, reddit, facebook marketplace, etc., trying to get a sense of what I want. I'll say considering most bike manufacturers have a large range of bikes for each model, the marketing folks then don't do a particularly great job explaining the differences. Enter VCC. I stopped by because I wanted to know if I was 56 or 58cm, with a plan to go buy used in the approximate $2000 range. My man Tim spent maybe 2-3 hours with me walking me through the entire range of trek road bikes, teaching me the differences among the gearsets, alloys used in the frames, the brakes, etc. It really made me confident in terms of zeroing in on the bike that would fit my needs. And it just so happened they had a prior year model at a price that was close-ish to my original budget (lol). Walked home with a new Domane SL5, and now something like 6 weeks and 500+ miles later I'm a pretty happy camper.

Gears are back to shifting smoothly and they cleaned it well so it is like new. They even added new tape to the handlebars. Very happy with the service and will continue coming back! Once they previously helped me install some pedals I bought there for free. Just above and beyond what you get at other local bike shops I've been to sometimes.

SRAM's customer service and Sr. Management is awful. They are 100% about churning revenue and do not care in the least about the customers. Their quality of product is subpar as well. Their business model seems to be churn out substandard components, screw over and ignore their customers. To wit, 4 years ago I spent $3K on their top of the line SRAM Red etap. Now 4 years later my front derailleur failed (again) and they no longer support the product or have a replacement part available to even buy. Oh gee, I can now give you another $4K to buy your new SRAM AXS? No thanks scammers. I am headed to Shimano.

In the last 3 years my Onium drive side crank failed twice (yes I was stupid enough to buy a second set after the initial failure sent me flying off the bike into a nasty wreck) with failure coming both times in exactly the same spot in the middle of the pedal axle through-point. This is a dangerous product, and I am lucky not to have been more seriously injured either time. This product is going to kill someone eventually!
