    I first went to another top shop in Largo to get a quote on replacing my Mazda Miata top. The…read morefellow at the shop in Largo was nice enough, but he didn't convince me fully that I would be satisfied with the job (I had a problem with the prior top installation). He also told me the top came with a 5 year warranty over the phone, but when I dropped by his shop he told me that the more costly fabric top came with a 5 year warranty, not the vinyl top (that's NOT what he said on the phone). He also said I'd need to give him a deposit and he wouldn't be able to service the car for 10 days. Then I called Rayco. Ryan was super friendly and helpful. We walked through all my concerns and he assured me that he would address any problems with the convertible frame on my car so the new top would fit properly. He also told me that the top would come with a 72 month warranty. Plus Rayco's price was $50 cheaper than the shop in Largo. He also ordered the top and got it installed 2 days after I gave him a deposit. Oh and one more thing, I also needed to replace the rubber window gasket (the guy in Largo told me to go to the dealer and pick it up, he wouldn't order it for the car; whereas Rayco ordered the gasket and installed it when they installed the top). The new top is terrific. It fits perfectly (unlike the top I was replacing). The entire transaction was a pleasure. I would highly recommend Rayco in St Pete for top replacement.

I purchased my own fabric and went to Cutting Edge on the recommendation of some neighbors on Nextdoor. When I dropped off my fabric and existing cushions, I clearly advised the assistant, Bernice, that I wanted the new cushion covers to go over the existing seat bottom and cover as these would be the dog proof covers that I could just remove when needed. The price quoted was wrong and when the owner, Kay, heard her quote my price she corrected her. The pricing was pretty steep, but I felt since my neighbors had recommended this place that I could count on quality and reliable work. The turn around town was said to be 2-3 weeks for the two covers. I received a call from Bernice that my order was ready about two weeks later and when I went to pick them up the original cushion covers were missing. She advised that she would need to find out from Kay and the person who completed my owner what they did with them, but since it wasn't spelled out on my receipt they throw away the existing covers. I told her that I had repeatedly told her the purpose was to make covers to go over the existing cover and cushion as these would be ones that I could take off after the dog had been on them if he got on the chairs. She was pretty condescending advising that if it was know she would have written it down. She ended up calling the person who completed my order and my original covers were in her car of all places and one was completely taken apart as it was used as a guide for the new covers. I had to wait additionally for them to sew the original cover back together. I had to make an additional trip back later to pick up my order and my original covers and when I advised Kay over the issues that occurred earlier, not to mention the issue that the order was clear when placed, she was pretty nonchalant and advised that it must have been a mistake and proceeded to collect the rest of the original order amount. No apologies, no concessions, nothing for errors that her staff did upon taking the order or their rudeness. This place wasn't cheap and the lack of customer service and fulfilling orders the way a customer requests is a reason to steer clear of this business.
