Every experience I've had with FH Drug has been positive. From picking up inexpensive postcards and little gifts to getting vaccines to filling prescriptions, it's all been smooth, friendly, professional, and pleasant. I can order prescription refills or schedule shots from their website which is a nice modern touch. The store itself is clean and well lit. Street parking has always been easy to find (though it can be more of a challenge in summer). FH Drug provides a good blend of efficiency and reliability along with small town friendliness and care. read more

I came to this Drugstore a few times in late July 2019. Once with my parents and a second time during my sister's wedding ceremony/reception on my own. Sometimes her terms and conditions for attending things can be harmful to my health, so instead I decided to take a walk into the town of Friday Harbor. I picked up some snackage supplies here that I used while making a video compilation with video highlights from a recent trip in July to Scotland. In this place I found a card. One about adventure and there being no guidelines/instructions to the adventure of life. Perfect card for a perfect occasion. I sent it to my sister on her birthday and she loved it. Thank you to Christine and the staff for going above and beyond. My daughter is on the island at a U of WA class and she became ill with no medicine and no way to get to town. They took my order over the phone even got her some Ramen noodles and referred me to taxi service that would deliver. Real small home town service, we need more of that in today's world. This store has awesome pharmacy staff. Before moving to the island, during one of my visits, my doctor had to call in my prescription. FH Drug didn't have my profile or my insurance, but they arranged everything with my doctor so that I was able to have access to my medication. Excellent - very professional with great customer service! Traveling from out of town staying at Roche harbor - I called my Doctor thought I needed antibiotics due to a lingering head cold. indeed I did, within 15 minutes Friday Harbor Drugs filled my prescription. I had called the pharmacy to inquire prior to my call with my Doctor and one of the gals told me to fill out the new patient form, which was key to the whole smooth process! Excellent job! read more

Man, this place saved my butt! We were on island for vacation and I forgot my sons heart medication off island. I called them and they facilitated contacting our regular pharmacy and getting his prescription and battled with our insurance company who was giving them grief as they kept saying we were refilling it too soon. AJ at the pharmacy worked her magic and made it all work. They all worked together to make it work. My kids loved the shop, it had tons of toys and cool gifts and essentials as well. There aren't a lot of these old fashioned home town drug stores left any more. There's all the usual stuff in front and your friendly pharmacist in back. And there's not a Walgreen's, CVS, Rite Aid or Long's logo to be found within miles! I came in looking for some writing paper and ended up buying a few sundries for home. Extremely rude and disrespectful staff. The pharmacist and the staff at the pharmacy refused to help me and refused to fill a prescription for me. They made a mistake and then blamed me and told me it was my fault. I wish I could give negative stars. It's so sad that they are the only option on Friday Harbor for medications. Yuck! read more

I walked in to create a profile so I could transfer an Rx from CVS. They were very busy and the lone counter person was running back-and-forth between drop offs and pickups. She was clearly hassled, but smiled at a kind word and joking. I was told they would contact my pharmacy and text me when it was ready. Stunningly, for I had low expectations that this procedure would function at all, that's just what they did and, when I went in the following day, there it was. We arrived at our hotel on the island and realized our toiletries bag did not make it in the car which included 2 prescriptions I have to take. We got right in the car and made it to pharmacy 35 min before they closed for the night. They immediately called my home pharmacy, got my prescriptions transferred over, and refilled them for me just before closing. Thank you for helping me correct a huge mistake! read more

We were traveling by boat from Canada when my husband realized that he was almost out of his prescription. I called ahead and spoke with Holly, the pharmacy manager, who was sympathetic and very helpful in assisting us. We were on our way home to Olympia when we got to Friday Harbor. However, when we came I to the pharmacy, Holly was not yet at work. Julia completed Holly's plan so that my husband would be covered for 3 days till he'd be home. Great customer service. read more

Great location - right on Spring Street. The store is like your neighborhood pharmacy, gift shop, office supplies store rolled into one. They offer a wide selection of greeting cards, seasonal decor (lots of fall and halloween stuff when we were there), shirts, toiletries, gift items and souvenirs. Friday Harbor Drug store is the last of a dying breed on the mainland. where else can you get spices, allergy meds and holiday décor? Fruit of the Loom and perfume? Office supplies, yarn, painting supplies both oil and home décor. There are so many things that you can't find anywhere else on the island in the drugstore. Few places here carry makeup, face products, hair care and the things you take for granted other places. Friday Harbor Drug has a good selection of both product at affordable prices.. read more

Only option, sooo don't plan on any type of customer service, just sat on hold for 24 min to find out prescriptions aren't ready. I had to call on another line and the person whom answered said he didn't know i was on hold. He put me on hold. Not once have we had good service, and please don't think they will call your insurance if a problem. All up to you. read more

As we all live on a small Island, it's pretty hard *Not* to have a relationship with others who live on it, regardless of the caveat given by yelp. That said, the only part lacking at our drugstore is the old-fashioned malts counter and stools. The pharmacists go waaaay out of their way to help; on one occasion, in the early morning, dead-of-night hours, one of the pharmacists got out of bed, drive to town, opened the store, and filled a prescription which had just been written and was urgently needed. Try *that* on one of those impersonal chain stores which may well be right next to an impersonal chain store off-Island! Service is always with a smile and some good-natured conversation, just as a small town on a small Island deserves. There's no way I'd trade what we have for that which people off-Island have to tolerate. It's a relaxed atmosphere and, thankfully, not as rushed as that which off-Islanders seem to want. I'll opt for peace, serenity, and friendship. For that, I can rely on Friday Harbor Drug! read more

Terrible experience. Took 4 calls to get a prescription refilled from another pharmacy. Then the refills were incorrect, and I ended up having to transfer the prescription back to the original pharmacy. People were very nice, though the combination of errors was terrible. read more

It's unfortunate that this is our only pharmacy on the island -- for us and for them. They're swamped and they can't keep up. I've just had too many prescriptions delayed or misplaced, and my biggest complaint is that they are not careful about maintaining your privacy when you step up to the desk. I know that it's hard work and cramped back there, but I've had so many frustrating experiences. Sorry to say, I have to recommend mail order pharmacies for regular medications, but this one help you if you have an emergency and need to go here. They're good people, but they're trying to handle way too much volume. read more

If you aren't looking for a prescription - this i a great, well stocked shop in the heart of downtown. However, if you need a prescription, you might as well plan to catch a ferry. These people invented the "30 more minutes" game and on 3 occasions 30 minutes has turns into multiple hours. Today it turned into 6 - yes, that's right - 6 hours for a basic antibiotic. And the only reason it was filled at all is because I sat in the waiting area and at 10 minutes till closing time I reminded them I was still there (and not leaving without my Rx). This is one of the few places worst than the DMV!!!! read more

Staff was surlii8ey and not organized. My Rx was phoned in mid morning. At 3:45 pm they could find no record of fax from my doctor. I called my doctor and found they had sent the fax.My doctor called them at which time they found the Rx fax. It took 1 hour to get my Rx. I will not use them ever again. read more

Methinks NOT. I have lived in the San Juan Islands for 14 years, and have never met such rude condescending people as they have in the prescription department. The 'front' of the store is great with a nice array of products and nice checkers, but if you need a prescription, you are shocked with the bitchiness and rudeness of the people. It is ridiculous to wait as long as we have had to wait, and to take the rudeness and nastiness of those behind the counter. I would rather ride the ferry to Orcas Island to Ray's Pharmacy, where you are greeted warmly, served promptly, and treated with respect. It is worth the ferry ride to NOT go to Friday Harbor Drug. read more

the retail store is great, a lot of items you won't find at the grocery store and glad we have it, but the pharmacy part is the worst most dysfunctional pharmacy I have ever dealt with, they tell you on the phone your meds are ready, you go down there and they only have half of it ready,they loose your script, than cant find you in the system, don't drop your bottle's off they will loose them than you will need to go back to the doctor and get the nurse to re fax them. if you can set up your meds through the mail DO IT you will save yourself a huge amount of stress, hassle, time, money read more
