In fact, multiple people thought the food was so good that they ordered twice (the truffle fry poutine was especially popular). Adrian was super flexible and accommodating and stayed late so all my guests and the wedding party could be fed even though he had an early morning food truck festival the very next day. Maybe the biggest problem with what I did was stop last at the Loose Cannon Food Truck. This food truck is next level to say the least, why you ask? Because you get chicken, mashed potatoes, and gravy inside of a friggin' waffle cone.....sorry, i started drooling. I'm baffled as to how nobody was in line for this truck because I was able to order and start eating this beautiful cone in under 4 minutes. I fell in love with this thing after the first bite. The large juicy chicken chunks on the top are delicious and it only gets better from there. The cone starts to get soft and when you mix that was those yummy mashed potatoes, well, you find heaven in food form. Located on weekdays during work hours at Perry Square, Ernies is a small, locally-owned food truck that offers up Erie's own Smith hot dogs, Italian sausages, hamburgers, turkey burgers, cheesesteaks, steak wraps, BLTs, pulled pork sandwiches, and more. It's a safe menu, sure, but Ernies makes every meal fresh and made-to-order. This means that it takes a little longer (my Italian sausage with onions and peppers took probably 6-7 minutes), but being so fresh and at an extremely reasonable price of $4, it was well worth the wait - especially considering the guys behind the counter were personable and more than willing to chat with me while they were cooking, as it wasn't too busy. From out of town and need to get a fresh Smith's hot dog (aka the best hot dog on the planet)? Here's your chance. As much as I love Sara's for what it is, I've never liked that their dogs sit on the burners for way too long. Here, you don't have to worry about that. Support these guys. Needless to say, everyone was very excited and hungry for lunch! Since I've never tried them before I asked what they recommended and she said the steak burger or cheese burger. I decided to get the mushroom cheese burger ($10) and made it a combo fries + drink ($4). It was very windy today and the lady was kind enough to tell us to wait inside our office building while they cook the food. It didn't take too long for us to get our food. The burger was huge and the beef patty was very thick and juicy! They put onion rings in the burger which is a plus. The fries are topped with just garlic cream sauce which made the fries that much better! It's been 11 hours since I ate the burger and I'm still drooling about it. They also have a store called Grill Gate and I'll definitely go check that out. $14 for the combo is not bad at all! Definitely recommend everyone to try if you have the chance.
