I would like to encourage veterans to work with this firm. I served 27 years in the Army, and when…read moreI retired I didn't file for VA disabilities before I figured with all my conditions, and I have a lot of conditions, I didn't deserve VA compensation because I have learn to adjust to not having range of motion in both wrists amongst other things. I initially went with a VSO however they sat on my paperwork for 5 months. I was told about this service from Vetcenter counselor. I am glad I went with Berry law firm because they made it very seamless for me. They supported my phone calls of uncertainties by providing me with information that made it comfortable to reach out to them anytime I had questions. Deb, is very helpful and I got a sense she actually cares about what she is doing, and for me. Please contact them for support. They will help you more than the VSO.

Since she left, I was assigned to a different attorney who I had minimal interaction with prior to her unbeknownst to me going on maternity leave. During this time my case had been in a sort of limbo state it seemed. I was then assigned a temporary attorney who I feel is not as focused on assisting with my case but possibly ones he had prior to having mine added to his case load. The interactions are minimal and quite frankly, I feel like I am needing to be actively reaching out to ask about next steps, or troubling him when I have questions, offer additional information, resubmit information I had previously submitted. Overall I do not feel like much effort is being placed on assisting me or my claim now since my original attorney left. Now there is a Veteran Support Squad that is supposed to be acting as an intermediary between clients and the attorneys (from my understanding); this now feels more cumbersome and inefficient than before. One my past two appeals submitted they were returned back within ONE WEEK from the VA, if you've experienced dealing with the VA, you know they don't do anything in a week, however they denied my last appeals within that time frame and honestly I cannot blame them, the appeals that were submitted on my behalf were poorly written, lacked anything that would reasonably appear to be worthwhile material for consideration by the VA. Supposedly, the veteran support squad and my temporary attorney are looking at making another appeal for me, however it has been weeks since I've last heard anything and in this entire process, I have yet to get a C&P exam for one of the conditions I've been working on since the beginning (approximately 2 years ago). Overall, I went from being extremely happy with how I had been taken care of and the level of service, to now feeling like I don't have much representation at all who seems to care. I do believe that Berry law still provides a great service to veterans struggling with the VA, however, in my situation, I feel like I've been put aside and in sorts made a lesser priority compared to the effort I received when I had my original attorney.
