I wasn't trying to drive in to town. I need convenience. The parking lot was clean. I entered my reward card information and then pumped my gas. The place was pretty busy. People coming and going. All very polite. Then I went inside to use the facilities (I know, TMI) and to get some snacks. The bathroom was clean, although a strong dose of bleach could have improved the smell. They had running water (not all places do), but they were out of paper towels, so I had to use the blower. I am not a fan of the blower, but it did work. I then left the restroom and proceeded to check out the snack selection. All the favorites for travelers were present. I picked up some Pringles and some lemonade. Reasonably priced too. I also noticed that there was some kind of frequent shopper card available too, so I picked it up but haven't yet signed up for anything. I need to check it out. The cashier was very pleasant. Clean clothes. Proficient too. She made change for my purchases in her head, because she told me my change before it appeared on the register. She was from the old school of math!! I appreciated that. Tip: put some paper towels in the men's bathroom and add some bleach to the cleaning solution when you mop the floor AND walls.

The women at the counter, think Roz from Mobster's Inc, was not a highlight of our visit either. I'm guessing, like the rest of us, she is a much happier person anywhere else but at this Parker's. Interior The most recent owner has done some stuff to make it look more upscale, like faux interior wood flooring. Price / Value / Food I found some very good deals in the meat department. Unlike any of it's predecessors, they have Boar's Head deli meats. They have a hot bar with stuff like fried chicken, fried pork chops, mac & cheese. Apparently the offerings change daily but there's a schedule (ie fried fish on Fridays). Customer Service As usual, the customer service was top notch. The deli attendant made a mistake and sliced nearly 2.5 lbs of turkey instead of a quarter pound (0.25) and one night when I ventured in, someone from the deli had dished up portions of food and priced them without labeling the contents so the staff had no way of knowing if the containers contained sweet potato casserole, mac n cheese or what - but we all gotta give people grace in this day of struggle staffing. Overall I hope these guys stick around. They also own The Market (restaurant and seafood market).

Some of the prices are a bit high compared to competitors but shop local!!! The prices are fine when you factor in the convenience of location. The parking lot was completely done along with the interior. It's clean, modern and well organized. When it was BiLo it felt horribly crowded. Welcome to Darien because this store makes our tiny town look good!
