    Tortellini carbonara

This little pasta stand was everything you would want it to be! We stopped in on a rainy night to grab some dinner. They have a variety of build your own pasta bowls that are super tasty, quick, fresh, and affordable (especially because the portions are large). I wanted to order everything on the menu. We tried an arancini ball that was amazingly tasty and the tortellini with a great creamy carbonara sauce. We also had the bread sticks, which I would probably pass on next time. If you're nearby this place is worth stopping in for sure!

Litaly is incredibly picky when it comes to eating Italian. That's why I let him choose where we went for dinner. Friggitoria specializes in south Italian and does fresh pasta at a reasonable price (for Sydney). It's located right by several restaurants including Thirsty Bird. We dropped in on a Tuesday evening for an early 6:00pm dinner. It looks like quite a few people grab takeout here but they have a nice layout of tables outside along the street. Staff are very efficient and food came out lighting quick. The menu is split into street food/appetizers, design your own pasta (pick your pasta type and sauce), meats and dessert. They had a basil special ($16.00 AUD) but we decided to stick with the classics. - Penne napoletana ($13.00 AUD) - cherry tomato, garlic, Parmesan and fresh basil. Simply homey and authentic. The slices of thin fresh garlic were excellent. This was my favourite of the two pastas. Litaly said this reminded him of pasta back in Italy. Don't think you can get a higher compliment! - Tagliatelle norma ($15.50 AUD) - eggplant, ricotta, cherry tomato, Parmesan and fresh basil sauce. The ricotta tasted homemade and the eggplant was nicely roasted. Fresh, simple and satisfying. Definitely worth a try.

An interesting little Italian place that focuses on take-away meals and high turn overs. Limited seating inside, however there are more tables outside. The guy who takes the orders also runs the shop. The kitchen is right there, and I mean right there behind the counter. During our meal we couldn't help but feel flusted by the chaos of the kitchen which bled out into the dining area. The food comes out quickly and hot, plus the staff are always on it - making sure you have water and whatnot. One thing we notice was the coming and going of many Uber-Eats deliver drivers coming to collect. The pasta is fresh, which is a plus. My boscaiola was weird and didn't hold the traditional flavours that I've experience in every other restaurant or home cooking. Instead of having a thick cream sauce with a fine balance of bacon and mushroom, what I experienced was a mushroom and herb sauce with sausage meat - that isn't a boscaiola pasta. It reminded me of a can of mushroom soup which left me greatly underwhelmed and questioning why I paid for it. The wife's bolognese was fine, however nothing was popping for me. A lot of the tomato flavour was lost in the beef mince. The pasta comes out in a cardboard dish with waxed paper made to look like newspaper. Am I right in thinking that this is an Italian restaurant, not a fish and chip shop? I know I've experience a lot better and I really doubt I'd want to put myself through that experience again.

Having been to Italy and to many fine Italian restaurants, I thought the pasta was excellent and reasonably priced. My partner wouldn't stop raving about how good the food was! Pasta is made fresh (ie. Not dried pasta) which was a nice surprise considering it is surrounded by fast food restaurants. We ordered the meatballs in tomato sauce and the one with mushrooms, sausage, truffle and cream sauce, both with tagliatelle. The Arancini was good... wasn't blown away but still tasty. Overall, an excellent Italian restaurant and if we weren't from halfway across the world, we would be eating here often! Thanks to the very friendly owner and staff for a wonderful experience!

We went here for dinner and it far exceeded our expectations! The Boscaiola al Tartufo sauce was so tasty. We're visiting from California, but if we lived in Sydney we would eat here all the time.

A nice street side Italian food eatery. Pretty small place with some seating indoors and outdoors. It was constantly busy with a lot of people ordering take out. My friend and I had garlic bread to start. They were fresh and hot breadsticks that were nice to munch on as we waited for the pasta. I had the tortellini with boscaiola al tartufo sauce. It was a creamy parmesan truffle sauce with sausage and mushrooms that wasn't too heavy. I would have liked to have tasted a little more truffle. A lot of pasta though for a reasonable price. My friend had tortellini with arrabiata sauce, which was a tangy spicy tomato sauce. A casual place to have some fresh Italian food in Kings Cross.

Found his gem while visiting from the U.S. In a nutshell: you'll find limited seating in this super cute restaurant but there is no shortage of interest. We dined here twice in our 4 days in the area and both times the place was packed with folks waiting for some delicious pasta. Lines of Uber eats drivers hugged the wall taking turns picking up orders. If you're in the area make sure to stop in. Food is delicious and portions are big. Attached photo of our food halfway through. Yum

Amazing homemade Italian food in Kings Cross in Sydney. The pasta with meatballs made me feel like I was back in Italy, the service is great and the owner is friendly! Portions are awesome especially for the affordable prices they have. All in all, I would eat here time after time.

What really makes this shop worthwhile is the gourmet foods and wine. The selection is pricy but impressive. We had a $40 bottle of red wine from there one evening and it was one of the best I've ever had. Although their products are expensive, the quality is the highest and you know you will enjoy what you have. Bottega Del Vino is like something which has escaped from Europe and is a cut above the average deli.
