Ottawa's first rolled ice cream shop was another location of Roll'd Up that opened on York St in the Byward Market not only in the middle of the Covid Pandemic, but in the middle of winter! I still haven't made it there, but was so excited to see another location open up in Lansdowne Park. And when it was technically Spring, although didn't really feel like it yet, lol, I went to check it out. So the Lansdowne location just opened the last week of March 2022. They had been open for 1 week when I visited. I got a small Strawberry Cheesecake rolled ice cream ($8.95) and my husband got a small Skor rolled ice cream ($8.95). It's pretty pricey, but I think the price includes the "show" they put on as they make it, lol. So they pour the ingredients onto this frozen metal sheet and they mix it. Then they spread it out real thin. Then they roll it. It's pretty fun to watch. The ice cream also tastes really good. Very rich and creamy. I asked for "a lot of whipped cream" and they certainly delivered, lol. You can see my pictures. My husband's has the regular amount of whipped cream and mine has extra ;) Service was very friendly. You order and pay with the Cashier near the cafe and cakes area, then you take your receipt and let the Ice Cream Roller know what your order was. The ice cream takes a while to prepare, so I can see how the wait would be long if it were busy. They sell coffee and tea, as well as cake slices (I think the cakes are from Dufflet Pastries from Toronto). It's a really cute place to hang out or for a date. So glad I got to try rolled ice cream!! Street parking only (if you can find any), or you can use one of the paid parking lots nearby.

So Lokma sells Turkish donuts called Lokma, lol. They are very similar to the Greek donuts…read more(loukoumades) that Mr. Puffs sells. I think they have an affiliation with Bergham (formerly called Centrale Bergham) because these two businesses seem to be co-located, not just at this location, but from what I see, at their other locations (in Montreal) as well (this one on Bank Street is the only Ottawa location). Anyway, the lokma are are deep fried balls of dough. They fry them when you order them, so they are super fresh. You can choose a variety of sauces and toppings. We got a small order (12 pieces) for $6.99. With the small order, you can choose up to two flavours. We got the Belgian milk chocolate and the strawberry syrup. Since some of the lokma were a bit smaller than the others, we got some extra pieces. Whoo hoo! Lol. The lokma were tasty. Slightly crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I found the chocolate topping to be a bit too sweet. I liked the strawberry syrup a lot more. It was less sweet. I have had the loukoumades at Mr. Puffs on Greber Blvd in Gatineau, and I personally liked those better (crispier on the outside, chewier on the inside, and the flavours were better (apple cinnamon was so delicious, and the had blueberry too, 2 flavours that Lokma didn't have)). However, Mr. Puffs is across the river in Gatineau, a place a rarely go to, so Lokma is more convenient for me. Service was efficient. Like I mentioned earlier, Lokma is co-located with Bergham. Their ordering counters are side by side and they share a common seating area. Both businesses are in a tiny plaza, along with a Tim Hortons. There is free parking in the plaza.

Though they're located on a corner lot of a busy street, it's still a pretty unassuming little building. I definitely spotted the graffiti first before the Mimi's sign. One side of the small building is graffiti for Mimi's and the other side is for the Burgers on Bridge food truck right next door, both by local artist Falldowng. There's really just room for one or two people max to step inside the building to order at the counter, while other people wait outside. It wasn't very busy on a weekday just after lunch, but there weren't too many donuts left. They specialize in gourmet yeast donuts. We ordered cinnamon sugar, cookie monster, lemon meringue, Mexican hot chocolate, cannoli, and explosive chocolate peanut butter. I was expecting more pronounced flavours, more of a pop, especially in the Mexican hot chocolate and "explosive" chocolate peanut butter donuts. I think the lemon meringue was the most flavourful because of the tart lemon filling, but I liked the cannoli the best because of the cannoli filling with mini chocolate chips. They had a notice to customers that said their prices recently went up. Not sure what they were before, since this was my first time visiting, but we paid $20 even for a half a dozen yeast donuts. They also serve ice cream scoops, sundaes, milkshakes, coffees, and DavidsTea. The ice cream is from Central Smith Creamery. I also got a large cookie dough milkshake and a cinnamon sugar donut. You can get a milkshake with any of the ice cream flavours they have available. The cookie dough was good, more tame, which I thought was great for a milkshake, but I wish I had a bit of a bigger straw to suck up the mini chocolate chips. The donut was a classic, not too thick and not too airy. I'm not a big cake person, so we didn't order any of the cake donuts, but they did have a few available (s'mores, double chocolate, chocolate dip, and vanilla dip). They have a few small tables and chairs outside for groups of 2, a large parking lot, and a ramp for accessibility.

But, when I got hit on the hand by the metal pole of their flying patio umbrella (not bolted down or affixed to their patio table), I was dismissed ('there's nothing wrong with your hand') & told to just google their information because they don't have a business card, there's no manager or person in charge on the premises yet there were 3 women from the café who avoided my request for contact information. They did offer ice in a bag BUT only after much insisting that I'd like to speak to someone in charge of the café. Again, I was dismissed and told that there's no responsibility to be had because it was an accident and that I should leave the premises because I was causing a scene since I ended up crying because my hand was hurting. The security camera of the Byward Market building across the street caught the whole hit incident (June 16).
